A big tree came crashing down locally, last night...
Perhaps due to all the rain we had, soaking ground and maybe making it soft,
around roots...
around roots...

Wind last night, took it down...
The tree was to the right of the house [as you look at picture],
and fell across, and in front of house.
Doing some damage to the house next door.
Much work had been done, by the time theses pictures were taken.
Naturally, much more damage could have resulted!
Oooops! Just noticed! I landed on a car, parked out front!

Oh, how sad. Such a big, old tree. Now it is off to the chipper. It makes me depressed to see things like this. How lucky that beautiful home was. People really could have been hurt.

That is sad...that glorious old tree. Thank goodness that no one was hurt, though. Must be pretty wet out by you.

Something similar happen a few years ago to our home. One of our neighbors had a very tall pine tree and it fell on our front porch roof. If it was not for the steel fence we had in front it probably would have been in our living room.
Glad to hear no one was hurt when this tree fell. You can always replace property.

Glad it wasn't your house, your tree or your car! It wasn't, was it??
OUCH! Car looks totaled...glad no one was hurt. Is this your neighborhood? Awesome houses...
Hi, I'm sure you probaby talk about this in other blog posts, but since I am so new, I have missed it. Where is 'town' for you????
It's a good thing that tree didn't come down on the house or someone's car.... That was a big tree. How sad to lose it.
Hugs,
Betsy
Oooooo. So sad. Makes me want to cry. (We've lost 3 due to rain and high winds. Looks like the same kind of tree - whatever it is - with no root system to speak of.) Neat houses!
