♥ "When a book is boring, they yawn openly." ,-)

Isn't this a cute tote bag?  Found it at Barnes & Noble web site.  My old 'Nana Bag,' is shrinking each time I wash/dry it.  It's sooooo old, that the handles do not go-over-the-shoulder, as everything does today.  Soooo...  I'll soon have a new 'Nana Bag'!
It's my all-purpose bag.  My essentials for leaving the house are kept in it, all the time.  (car keys, house keys, wallet, small plastic bag with "essentials" like tissue, cough drops, etc.)  JUST essentials.  I don't travel with a PACKED hand bag!!!!!  :-)

Library books can go back and forth, in it.  My small water bottle...  A box of raisins, in case of feeling low blood sugar, etc.

"A Share in Death" ~  #1 in the Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James Series

Another English mystery series.   But not with a *little-old-local-lady* doing the sleuthing...  This one is with a Scotland Yard Superintendent, and his assistant.  The setting is a week's holiday in a luxurious Yorkshire time-share, so the U.K. area descriptions are delicious though.
The author's name is very interesting!  Sounding very close to my mother's maiden name (which was Cromie).  This lady's name is Crombie, which is even closer to the story I was told...  That the family came from near the River Aber in Scotland, and shortened the name from Abercrombie...

Have you ever read a book, which you are so irritated with at the end, that you want to throw it across the room?!?  I did.  The one above.

The cover looks delicious.  An older lady trying to bring a book shop to an isolated British town...  Trying to house the book shop, in an old building which has an irritable poltergeist, already living there.  Etc.  But a town with surprisingly vindictive provincials, in residence.   So that in the end...  No nice person wins.  Only the nasty.  Ugh........   Ugh........  Ugh.........  Depressing.  -pout-
Has something like this, ever happened to you???  Wanting to throw a book, across the room???

"Children don't read to find their identity, to free themselves from guilt, to quench the thirst for rebellion or to get rid of alienation.  They have no use for psychology.... They still believe in God, the family, angels, devils, witches, goblins, logic, clarity, punctuation, and other such obsolete stuff.... When a book is boring, they yawn openly.  They don't expect their writer to redeem humanity, but leave to adults such childish illusions."  ~Isaac Bashevis Singer, 1978

Yes, I have! I hate to read a great book with luscious description, a thrilling plot and interesting characters only to end up NOT THE WAY IT SHOULD TURN OUT! It immediately goes into the trash or garage sale box! So frustrating when you spend hours reading and then...POOF! A big disappointment!

Auntie, guess you should write your own book and make it the way you want it!

Love your bag - it should do the job perfectly and get second glances, too!

Hi Auntie. I'm a dedicated Fringe fan and your newest follower. What a wonderful little blog you have! Short and simple but touching posts and beautiful pictures with lots of color. I'm afraid, my blog posts sometimes go on and on (when I start, my imagination takes over and I run with it). I'll be back!

I hate when that happens! When you spend time reading what you think is a good book and then have the ending turn out all wrong. What a bummer that is!

I love your cute new 'Nana' bag!

sure i have, i read a lot and if i read one that is like that, i don't read that author again. i started a book a couple of weeks ago and after about 100 pages everyone in the books was the bad guy, the cops were bad the heroine was bad, no white hats at all, so i stopped reading and got another book. since my books come from the library i don't feel guilty about not reading it like i did when i used to buy all my book.s

I like your new bag. You can carry a lot of Peanuts in a bag like that. :)

I have never actually thrown a book across the room but sure have felt like it. A couple of Stephen King books were like that for me. His are BIG books and good but I hardly ever like the ending. Then I just make up my own ending!

I like your nice bright tote.

Love the quote!

Love the cute bag.:)

I have been known to quit a book or a movie at the first sign of knowing I might not like the ending. :))
