♡ Introducing "Maggie"... :-))))

♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡

(Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars)

(Taken from side...)

I made these, for Sun. family dinner...  "Uncle A." made crock pot Barbequed Spare Ribs...  Ribs are chewing on bones.  My Dessert had chewy caramel in it.  Items which "Grand" J. will not be able to eat, after having braces put on, today/Monday.  So he requested a *Chewy Feast,* on Sunday.  -grin-

Introducing "Maggie"!!!
♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡

Son/daughter-in-law and family have had 2 beautiful black Labs, for years.   A while ago, "Ruby" the oldest became sick and passed on.  "Ruby" was loved by our whole family, and it was a very sad time, for us....  Not just for her immediate family.
♡*♡
"Summer" (2 years younger than "Ruby") was devastated.  Humans know what has happened, and can grieve.  All a companion dog can do, is grieve.  "Summer" was almost fading away....
♡*♡
So they decided to bring in another black Lab, from same kennel where their previous dogs came from.  Not a puppy.  A new puppy would not have been welcomed by "Ruby."  But a sweet, adult dog named "Maggie."
♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡

"Maggie" is a Lab and knows how to swim, instinctively.  But that's all.  No one had exposed her, to something like a swimming pool!  So, when "Summer" jumped into our pool, sweet "Maggie" jumped in too.  But then she didn't know how to get out.  She was trying to climb out, but NOT at the shallowness and steps.
♡*♡
So son pulled off his shirt, jumped in, and began to teach dear "Maggie" about how-to-handle-a-swimming-pool.  How to dog paddle to the shallowness/steps and climb out.
♡*♡
But mostly, he cradled her in the water, letting her do her natural dog paddle, but with a feeling of safety...  That when it was time to get out, he would bring her over to "the place."
♡*♡
Needless to say.  WE LOVE HER TO PIECES....  :-)))))
♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡

ADDITION:  I just realize how much my handsome son above,
looks something like one of my favorite actors...  Jean Renau....

:-)   :-)   :-)

But not by today...  Facial hair is not allowed, at his place of work.  ,-)

Maggie is beautiful. I was just picturing the scene of the poor thing trying to climb out.

Those cookie bars look fantastic and your description of Uncle A's ribs have my mouth watering. I'm having a rough time of it today on this no carbohydrate diet. Feeling queasy and tired and would just love to dive into that pot of ribs.

LOVE LABS! Love your Maggie, too! Ours was chocolate, Jake, but he's no longer with us either. :(

Did Maggie get some rib bones? Your dessert looks pretty yummy and chewy - I love chewy. Sometimes food it about texture, too, and not just taste alone!

You're a proud mama, but you DO have a handsome son, and yes, he DOES look like the actor!

Hope you're having a good week, Auntie!

Thank you for sharing such a very interesting post with us. Obviously a wonderful family.

I'm wondering whether or not I should learn to bark, and be more and more like a dog...Haha

I have replied to your very welcome comment on my blog.

In my next life I want to come back as a dog, and have a house full of human servants. (And those folks I don't care too much for can come back as trees!!) Congratulations on getting Maggie. Sounds like a wonderful addition to your family!!

Ohhhh...I remember days of braces...not my own, but my daughter's. It'll be worth it and what a great idea to have a Chewy Celebration. Those bars look so yummy.

Both neighbors east and west have labs and we love them. They go walking together every morning and are such good friends that one will take up yowling and that's the signal for a get-together in the late afternoon or early evening. Unfortunately, neither of them likes Molly. She can't see them, but yaps ferociously at them and so they feel intimidated.

Your son is much more handsome than that actor. Much. And he's a sweetie, too, to teach the new gal how to swim.

Maggie seems a wonderful dog. Labs are my favorite dogs and my SammyJo was a lab. She died years ago and I still miss her!

Oh your pool looks so inviting. Wish I could pop over for a dip. : )

I had braces on my teeth for 4 years when I was a kid. Braces are so much better now a days!!!!!

A delicious looking dessert. Yummy!

Your son is quite handsome. : ) I like beards on some men, my husband included and I was sorry and surprised when he shaved his off after having one for 38 years. ( all the time that I knew him) He came downstairs one day with it gone. Wow what a surprise that was!!

Great decision to help Summer - yes our pets are part of the family and it is hard on us when they leave us, but as you said the other pets don't understand.

That dessert looks wonderfully sinful:)

The new doggie is a beauty! I understand getting attached to pets. We have gotten attached to our son's pup but now he and his girlfriend have broken up and son has to give up the pup to her since he travels so much. I wish we could keep her, but our cat doesn't get along and we love our cat. I've already shed a few tears knowing I'll not see Marley anymore after the end of the month. Wow, that's probably TMI!

I don't know the actor, but I think your son is much more handsome!

What a sweet and tender story. Maggie is beautiful and I am sure she will become a major part of all of your lives. What a joy our furry friends are!

Hugs from Holland ~
Heidi ... who would love to drop in for a bite of those chewy bar cookies. :-)

Our Ben was a black lab too, but he hated the water for some reason. A great post.
Have a good week.
