♥ Monday... This and that... And a question...

~~ :~~ :~~ :~~ :~~

(An 'Old Rose' by the name of "Pollyantha"...)

A nice 73 degrees this Mon. morning.  Not full sunlight, but one can open the windows and enjoy the morning air, once again.  What a change!  What a relief!  And the barometer is rising a little too.

~~ :~~ :~~ :~~ :~~

(More 'Old Roses,' in the front garden...)

Remember how Tasha Tudor lived?  In her own world, so to speak...   Being *Olden* now, I feel the need to go into my own version of "Tasha Tudor Mode."
~~
That being....  Be informed, about the world...   But do not seek to rile-myself-up...  Decide what an *Olden* citizen can do...  Then let it all go...  Try to live as healthy a life as possible...
~~
And pass "The Mantle Of The Good Fight" on, to those younger.

~~ :~~ :~~ :~~ :~~

(The side of the Bank...  Which is always covered in bunting...  Lovely...)

You who are younger citizens of our Beloved Country...  Are you already carrying
"The Mantle Of The Good Fight" ?  And willing to carry it on...?
~~
Thank you!!!

~~ :~~ :~~ :~~ :~~

(A pretty little Blue flower...  Probably a wild flower, but it grows in the front garden...)

~~ :~~ :~~ :~~ :~~

("Spent" Clematis...Were lovely Pink and White flowers...)

I always love Clematis, more after it goes to seed even...  Seeeeee those dainty little kinda'-curly-ish fonds, or whatever one would call them?  Wispy and spider-y looking.  Charming, to me...

~~ :~~ :~~ :~~ :~~

"Rose Cottage" by Mary Stewart...  I haven't given any book reviews in a while, even though I've been reading.  Gone to some pretty *coffee table* books, which one looks at and skims reading.  :-)  And some non-fiction, along with fiction.
~~
A new-to-me and liked-very-much author (Susanna Kearsley), is said to write like Mary Stewart.  So I figured, go read some Mary Stewart.  I found this book likable, with a bit of skipping back and forth from 20 years ago to now, etc.  Not back to a 17th century person but........  Still.....   I found it quite charming.
~~
"... a tiny thatched dwelling in an idyllic English country setting..."  Tell me, how could I resist, hu???

"One ought, ever day at least, to hear
a little song, read a good poem,  see a
fine picture, and, if it were possible,
to speak a few reasonable words."

Are you kidding me? I'm thinking of moving to New Zealand. John thinks that if too many go there, the whole place will sink. Sigh. We'll do what we can do, which doesn't come down to a whole lot. I think your idea of slipping into Tasha Tudor mode sounds downright blissful.

It's very nice that you found a car to match your roses. If you find bunting, let me know where. I'm off for the dollar store in high hopes.

i am really old and still ready to fight. i love this country and hate it to and would never want to live anywhere else.
beautiful roses but my most favortie is the spent clematis. i love those twirly curly cues. i would pick one and bring it inside. i can't do Tasha Tudor because i have no idea who she is or was.

I love this country, but am tired of city life. I see your pictures and yearn for the serenity your neighborhood offers.

Once again I love you pictures. And I also love clematis after it's gone to seed too :)

I LOVE Tasha Tudor! Did she not live an awesome life??? And she STILL affects and inspires people even after she has gone.
I read her books and she was a featured writer for a year at Victoria Living. I SO enjoy that magazine although I have not had a subscription in years. (Budget minded me!)
Thoughtful post.....and a wonderful reminder of Tasha Tudor.
Not sure I could live as she did but STILL........

Your photos are lovely...as always. Love the bank that's showing patriotism. I'm not much younger than you, so I don't know what I can do to fight other than vote, but I will do what I can! I love this country, but I'm very afraid for it's future.
Tasha Tudor mode? Sounds good to me.
