Well, that was interesting.... Early last evening (Sat. evening that is) we lost power. Next door daughter-in-law and kids, were out back at the pool. Daughter from next-house-over, came over, to .... wonder, with us. No one knowing much.
"Uncle A." tried to contact the Power Co. and it was one of those... Impossible to make calls, without getting out a power bill and being able to give account number. Duhhhh... What happened to the old "Report Power Outage" number, where you just said where you lived.... Or if this number became over-whelmed with calls, they simply put a recording on... Giving as much Info as the power co. had, at the moment? GONE, are such numbers, I guess.
So he called the local Police. They were about as clueless as we were. Power Co. not giving them, a possible time for power return. And with no power, I couldn't turn on my *trusty* scanner, and listen to police calls. -pout-
All we did was sit quietly, where there was enough light to read, and try to stay cool. It came back on and all was well..... But even as I write this (9:25am on Sun. morning) I still don't know what happened!

Maybe it was a power outage "blackout" from overloading the system in this terrible heat and humidity???
I just love your rose photos...gorgeous!!!
Sweet Thoughts and Hugs,
Jan
I hear ya. Our power went out this morning. Thankfully, it wasn't out for too long, just long enough for me to start fretting about the heat.
Now you have the pool to jump in! ☺
That can be so annoying. Glad you're back on! Love the beautiful flowers.
Peace,
Muff
Beautiful roses!
We had an hour's power outage during a recent storm. We are unable to use our phone during a power outage.:(
Beautiful roses.. we have had the power go out because a squirrel got in a transformer..poor thing
Sometimes these brown outs can happen at the oddest times and can ruin your meal in the oven...I know because ours' went off too!
And if you're like me, then you have to run around the house and reset all the digital clocks! Aggravating!
One of those mysteries......
Glad it came back on. : )
It's kind of inconvenient, but I rather like those little breaks from normality.
It is no fun to loose power ...seems like everything you go to do requires power
I'm glad your power wasn't out very long! Elaine is right, sometimes something as simple as a squirrel (or bird) can knock out power. Hubby is a rural lineman and has worked a lot of outages that were of that nature. Besides Mother Nature causing a lot of havoc, of course! And people hitting poles, etc.
Thank you for telling me about visiting Stillmeadow and seeing Stillcove!! I'm so envious that you even got to go inside at Stillmeadow! Have you blogged about this and I didn't see it? I can only imagine what Stillmeadow looks like from Glady's description. Oh, how I'd love to see it! Ok, I'll be quiet now.
Oh how I miss not being able to listen to a scanner and hear the police calls......love the photos of the flowers very pretty.......I hate it when we have a black out we forget at times how much we relie on power.......
