♥ "She's back to asking questions!" ,-)

"Four O'Clocks"...  They really bloom later...  And seem to be a night-blooming flower...  Closing up again, in the morning.   Cool!  We never had them before.

Doesn't it look as if hummingbirds would love them?  But hummingbirds aren't about, at night, I don't think...

Looking up.  At another one of the lovely hanging baskets of Wave Petunias, which our city decorates with.  This one snapped down at the Farmer's Market on the weekend.   They are simply amazing, this year.  Guess the Wave Petunias have really, really been perfected.  The ones we have, although not in hanging containers, are doing wonderfully too.
~~~~~~
I've been going to bed, even earlier than usual, and am thus able to get up earlier, again.  I used to get up very, very early....   Always.   But over time, I have come to need 9 instead of 8 hours of sleep, and I keep waking later.  Rather than the old way, of really early.   I miss all that.
~~~~~~

So yesterday (and today) I was early-up, and then "Uncle A." got up earlier than his usual time too!!!  And we got lots of things done...  Earlier than usual.  Coooool.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some of Wave Petunias....  By the pool entrance...   Just growing/blooming *to-beat-the-band*!  (Anyone remember that old saying...  *To-beat-the-band* =  Meaning doing very well ?)
~~~~~~

My choices in library books, are not being pleasing.  I keep getting books out, which I find I don't really want to read.  Grrrrrr...  So I take 'em back.  Life is too short to read books I don't like.
~~~~~~
But I did it again.  Got a mystery, which is way too "gorey".  Ugh...  In hopes the 2nd book, will be more to my liking.   -sigh-   I hate to get into any form of a Reading Drought.  I really, really, really love to have books I love, piled up and waiting for me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just some rain drops...  But the Bukah (???)-effect is confusing...   Whatever that effect is, when up close is clear and background is fuzzy...  And visa-vera.  ,-)
~~~~~~
I like to put some kind of *a showing where separations are,* in the writing part of my blog.  And a longer kind of a *line of demarcation,* after each section of writing and before the next photo.  Do you Dear Reader, like this or not?  Is it helpful to your reading of the blog?  Or not?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Just another pic taken, in bright afternoon sunlight)

Although we're in a time of T-storms and gray/misty/moisty weather, currently.  Can't be unhappy at rain.  Not this summer.
~~~~~~
ADDITION:
I'm in a Site Meter Time of only showing 0   0   0.  -chuckle-
The Site Meter 'Troubles' have really hit here now, also.
Oh, you are allowing comments today. (Yay!) It's too bad Site Meter is down for you today because it would be intriguing to see how not allowing comments affected your visitor numbers.
(I wanted Site Meter to be up for me yesterday so that I could see what the numbers might be on a post about Site Meter. I know, I'm a nut.)
Anyway, I'm inclined to think that when people are not allowed to comment, the numbers would drop.
(One blog, that I visit once in a blue moon, does not allow comments. I really don't see the point of being there more often as I can get all caught up with her, as in months and months of caught up with her, in ten minutes or so. I'm not sure why she blogs actually; she can't be doing it to journal.)
So it's great to blog for one's own pleasure and that's where it should begin; however, blogging is also about relationship in my world. What about you?
I gave up on my usual big container of wave petunias. I can see I gave up too early. I just love them, but they are messy and need a good home off a wooden deck.
Oh to answer your question, enchantment is good sometimes...about once in a blue moon. No single thing is what I do as you know. "Eclectic" is my thing.
Yes, I do like a bit of demarcation if the post is veering off dramatically. I did stop using the graphics ones because they just take up more photo space so I use them sparingly and do what you do in using symbols readily available on the keyboard.
Well, see? I can be very chatty, too...
I'm glad to be able to comment again. It seemed as if something was lacking. I came to visit everyday and felt a bit lost when I couldn't comment.
I like the demarcations. You've done well.
glad you put the comments back, it drives me crazy that i can't comment. kick the site meter to the curb, all it does is make you upset.
i love that last shot of the pool, beautiful and the waving flowers are stunning. i know that bats drink the night blooming cactus nectar, so maybe they drink yours at night to.
i found out about Bokeh last year when someone said perfect example of bokeh, i said what? then i looked it up. if you want to here is the link to copy and paste.
You've got it backwards - usually when you get older you need less sleep. : )
Those wave petunias are gorgeous - I love them.
I too like to have a pile of books all lined up to read!!
Yes, I do remember the saying, to beat the band.
Yes, I like the line of demarcation.
I use one to separate my morning walk section from the rest of my day.
Love your beautiful flowers -- all those petunias!!
The lines help me to read, but spaces are fine, too.
I'm reading the same two authors all summer, just to finish everything they've written.
Peace,
Muff
Your flowers are lovely and the misty/moist weather is very good for them! My petunias are nearly all done for in this awful heat we've had even with all the watering I've done. Other flowers are still hanging on...barely.
I'm with Sandra, just ignore Site Meter! :) I know I can't look at mine very often, because I get aggravated at the number of viewers versus comments. Grrrrr.
Have a happy Friday and enjoy your weekend!
Oh, I meant to add that I'm very familiar with the 'to beat the band' saying. My grandmother used it a lot, so did my mother.
My goodness, "Auntie!" I write my posts so hurriedly that I just don't think of anything extra to add to them.:) That's rather like the way I sometimes go through my days.:)
Hi Auntie,
It has been a dogs age since I last stopped by. Your flowers are beautiful and your photographs so very vivid. Please send some of your rain down here to Texas, we really need it. :)
I hate coming home from the library with books that turn out to be duds too. Such a waste of time. Even worse, how about paying late fees on books you never got around to reading, because they weren't worth reading and you forgot to get them back on time. Yikes! That drive me mad! Anyway, hope you and your family have been well, and that you enjoy the rest of your summer.
All the best,
Maureen
Glad to see comments, here, Auntie.:)
My blogging is about many different things but I do love the relationships I've formed.
I don't read too much anymore..especially in summer. I do love a good book in the winter. I also love short stories...as in the Reader's Digest Condensed books. I have a lot of those.
Let's see.....hmmm...oh, yes, I do like a little something added between change of thoughts. I think everyone should just do their posts the way they like. I put quite a lot of time into most of my posts whereas others dash one off in a hurry (which I do sometimes, too). I seem to enjoy getting a post together about as much as any other aspect of blogging. I seldom publish one until it "feels good" to me. Another part I really REALLY enjoy are getting my photos to look good. Since I only have a point and shoot camera, I'm unable to get REALLY awesome shots so I depend on my photo editing. It's a challenge to take a so-so photo and be able to make it into a more pleasing picture.
SEND.ME.SOME.RAIN., please and thank you.:)
