Are any Dear Readers old enough to remember the old song.... "Earth Angel"? ,-)))) Well, these are my "De-Cluttering Angels"!!! Come to give me one of my fondest and oldest wishes. To get rid of all the no-longer-useful accumulation of over 50 years of marriage. Plus items left here, by our children. And stuff we got for our Grands.
Plus a huge, huge, huge amount of old, useless, moldy stuff, from down cellar. That which "Uncle A." (aka "Pop") could never, never bring up those cellar stairs, by himself. Down cellar was his first work shop, years before he make a work shop in the garage. Anyone familiar with a work shop, can imagine the Old Stuff Left Down There. -sigh-
You can't appreciate the stuff disposed of, without a "Before" picture, so I took one. Scott is beginning to learn that I am a *Mad Snapper*. Poor guy! But he was very good about it. :-) They both were!
Some accumulation gone...
Last, goes "Over The Top"...
And by now, I could hardly stop coughing, from all the raised dust and mold!!! Don't anyone tell me that I didn't *suffer* some too!!!!!!! -grin-
Now comes the really HARD part.... ,-)))) Writing the check. (Scott is probably happy, to be getting away from this "Mad Pic Snapping" Nana!)
Yes, you can see the tired tole on "Uncle A.'s" face. It was difficult for him. I was hopping up and down with glee, and he was not quite so enthralled.
But after, he too was so, so, so glad we did it! So relieved to get all this stuff out of our house and from beside our house. A job, which we have been trying and trying and trying to do, little by little, ourselves, for years. WE COULD NOT DO IT PIECEMEAL. Perhaps younger people can. But we COULD NOT! And we are both, both, both so relieved, that it is done!!!!
Now we clean upstairs, like we could not do, when rooms/closets were "Junk Rooms". Now we can place our OWN Keeper-Items, in those closets. Make clean rooms, out of empty kids' bedrooms. His Office up there, will be neat and free of piled debris. We can again USE our bedroom's Walk In Closet! He can move his Office to a front bedroom, which he can use in summertime too!
W H E E W ...

From all the colors used, I can see the delight. Way to Go, you two. Enjoy the new-found space.
i am now wondering if we have a service like this here. it is a great idea. glad you have chucked it all. i forgot to say the last couple of visits how much i love the header butterfly pic. the young men look like they did not mine you snapping
hahaha...you crack me up!!! don't you feel like you just lost 50 pounds? i feel the same way. this might inspire me to start on one of the bedrooms today.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :)
Lucky, lucky you! It must feel great to have uncluttered yourselves as you did! Loved the pix!!
Peace,
Muff
I can feel your excitement...it just jumps from the screen! What a great feeling it must be to be rid of all the unwanted stuff and be clutter-free!! I hope to get there myself one day soon. It's just so hard to part with certain things even tho I don't use them and haven't in years. Why do I keep it...why?? I dunno.
I have to add that it looks like the young men rather enjoyed having their pics taken! Or maybe your joy in getting the stuff out spilled over on them.
Oh, how well I remember the song Earth Angel. It was one of my favorites. When I was moving in September I almost called a service such as this, but instead, we notified sanitation that we would be putting things out and they picked most of it up. Took a few weeks, but we got it done. I probably would have ended up calling, but my landlady had told me to leave the bed and the sofa set and whatever tables we were leaving.

Ha, ha, this made me laugh - the expressions on the two guys' faces when you're taking their pictures is priceless. I cannot believe you filled that truck!
My problem is that when I start sorting through this sort of thing is I end of sat down and reminiscing. My husband is much more ruthless. He quite frequently goes on a 'clear out' following which I realise that all sorts of things have been got rid of - including things that I still use! Gardening shoes - gone. Electric whisk - gone, etc, etc.
Lynn :D
I wish we had a company like that here! I'll bet it feels Wonderful!

OH I LOVE to declutter....I feel so good and refreshed when it's done....I find not only does it declutter our home, it declutters my mind too..good work
ooo, dear, what a job. Mr. Sweet and I have been doing some of it but am now waiting until fall and cooler weather. We must clean our attic and it's sooo hot up there.
As for my headers...I just use Pic Monkey, which any computer can load..and it's free...and my own photos..every now and then, I might use another photo of some I have purchased.
Go over to picmonkey.com and click on COLLAGE..then you can choose a layout ...I like no more than 3 photos in my header...then you will go to the fonts and they have some awesome fonts...also frames...you will have to use smaller photos than what you are using now, tho.
If I can help ya, just let me know.
Now, I have an older moniter, probably a 15" screen, and I can't see all of your pics on it...(desk top)..I can see them on my laptop, tho.
Oh wow, Auntie - send those fellers down here! I need them badly! Aren't you proud of yourselves!
Hurrah for you. We filled a 50x30 garage with stuff when we moved to the cottage. Luckily my impoverished son took most of the furniture. We sold lots at our rummage sale, and the local thrift store came and took the rest. Now I have it down to a few bins of seasonal decorations, (Fall is pared down) to sort through. and of course, my material bins.. OMG. Gotta keep a little clutter, because narrow minded women have clean houses. Heaven forbid I be refered to as 'narrow minded' simple minded, yes, but not narrow minded. Enjoy your de-cluttered house.
GOOD job!!!! I am clapping wildly for you from Katy, Texas!!!
Auntie, you are my hero.
Doesn't it feel wonderful to clean all that out! What a great transformation and you gained a closet!
blessings,
karianne
Love that you took the pictures...isn't it a great feeling to have space.\0/
