This is my "Queen-Bess-We-Are-Not-Amused" pic. When you see this, you know, a "Grumble" by Auntie is coming... You have been thus warned. -grin-
(An old photo of mine, as are the rest of the photos, in this post...)
(An old photo of mine, as are the rest of the photos, in this post...)
Do you "do" Pinterest or whatever it's called?
My answer is NO.
This topic came up, when commenting in a Dear Reader's blog... She was apologizing for a "blahhh" post. Which was NOT blahhh, btw... She said something about; "In this day of everyone Pinterest-ing..." or some such. And I kind of when "bananas". (You who have read me for a while, know it doesn't take much, to kind of make me go "bananas". ,-) ) So in my comment on her post, I said that her post was fine with me. And I don't "do" Pinterest, etc.
And that led me to the thought......... What ever happened to plain ol' blogging?????? Ya' know.... When we put some pictures in an entry... We wrote some words.... Which gave our Dear Readers, a peek into our lives. And we were happy, with that? WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT????????
To me, it's just another example of how today's world makes us think that we must, must, must be "on the cutting edge." If lots of people are dooooooing something, we have to doooooo it tooo. Like this "Pinterest" thing.
"Pinterest" A place to share things I love Good grief! MY freakin' blog, is the place where I show/share things that I love.
I add Net pics to my blog, at times, as well as post my own photos.
Why "bully" Dear Readers into going to some new place, to see what I
love??? Who has the time???? I'm retired and I still don't have the
time.
There!!! I got my "Grumble" out of the way. ,-)))) And now, your views Dear Reader??? Please and thank you... ♥

i look at pinterest all the time but i never pin anything.
I look, I pin...but it's something I do to save recipes, craft ideas, etc... not something I want/need to browbeat other people into.
Are you talking about me? If one enjoys pinning, it becomes a big time sucker. We only have so many hours in a day. I don't find that those who pin are trying to get me to browbeat me to look. They might say, if you'd like to look. It's all a matter of choice. I have another lame-o post today. if you'd like to look. =D
I'm guilty! I'm a craft/decor/thrifty do it yourselfer blogger and I struggle. I'm always worrying whether my projects are "blog worthy" enough. I barely post once a month. I keep telling myself -I'm gonna blog "this" (my project) and then I don't because it's not "great" enough. I know...I know...the shame of it, blog insecurity is getting the best of me. Thank you Auntie Sezzzz for your honest grumble. I'm gonna stop worrying so much and start blogging. I feel like I've been to counseling haha! You made my day:-)
i got sucked in for a bit or two. & now i feel it is so last month. it's great for opening your mind to new creative ways of life... so i still like that ... i always keep my options open. too fun! (:
i love the pumpkin reflection in the counter top.
OMG!!! I didn't even know what "pinterest" was until I read this post...so I guess that leaves me out :)
I post on my blog all that I love, am interested in and so forth...I'm content~~~
Your photos today made me love this season even more, if that's at all possible!!!

Sorry, Auntie, but I love Pinterest. I enjoy looking at all the crafts, cooking, and other gems. It's different than blogging, and I really like it.
Peace,
Muff
I'd heard of pinterest but never checked it out. I think I'll go check it out now.
I don't even do facebook or twitter so probably won't do this either. Blogging and my Walker Tracker is quite enough for me to keep track of. : )
I've seen it, but not interested in using it. I've already got enough to keep up with.

I opened an account to see what all the hoopla was about...BORING! So, I closed it...

No, I haven't explored Pinterest - nor Facebook, either, for that matter!
I tried pinterest too much for me...I already blog and facebook...that is enough...I use facebook to keep up with friends and family that don't blog...
I actually enjoy Pinterest, a lot of the stuff I've made for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc, is from ideas I got off Pinterest:-) Just like those little candy corn/cookie turkeys I made for Thanksgiving that I showed in one of my blog post. I don't spend a lot of time on it but once in a while I like to browse through all the ideas/crafts/recipes:-) It may not be for everybody but as the saying goes..."to each his own":-) xoxo
I blog to share about me mostly. I do use pintrest for ideas - lots of ideas and recipes and how tos.

I peek at it once in awhile...but like you I enjoy visiting and writing on blogs. You go right ahead a grumble...I enjoy them :)
Auntie, I haven't got time to do anything other than a basic blog...one day I hope to be able to maybe up the ante but not just yet. I'm happy. I used to worry about it but it's my post to do the way I want to. If others don't like it that's up to them.
I've looked at pinterest but that's all, not for me at the moment if ever.
I like your misty photo idea :))

I look at pinterest only once in a while, but I don't pin. It's fun to just look at the photos and find new recipes or ideas which I hadn't seen before. To me, it's much like picking up a magazine. I've never felt like I was browbeat in regards to pinterest, it's pretty hard to browbeat me into anything these days...oldie that I am! :) I enjoy blogging and don't think I want to get "hooked" on anything else that takes up a lot of time. That's why I don't do Facebook, either.
JMHO!
Sometime I feel many of these social websites are too many people looking at what other people create rather than creating anything of their own. A lot of looking, but not much doing. But that is just my opinion and everybody is entitled to spend their time the way they want to. I have looked at pintrest and it is like flipping through a catalog looking at things, but very little human interacting. At least a blogging creates a relationship between the reader & the blogger. I did not see much of that on Pintrest. Pintrest is like People Magazine - mostly pictures and text that takes less than a minute to read. Mostly because people's attentions span has decreased to where media has to be presented for that short of an attention span. I am sure Pintrest is great for some people, it does nothing for me personally. There is only so many hours in a day and I would rather spend it with Auntie and other wise bloggers.
My friends enjoy Pinterest and I have been invited. Sometime in the future I might see what it is all about, but for now, it seems that I spend almost too much time with my new blog and especially reading everyone else's blogs. I like reading what other people think about things and what they are doing in their lives. I also enjoy seeing their pics.
Grumble away my dear it's your opinion and you have a right to it.
I do use pinterest to save projects recipes, crafts that I want to try at sometime in the future. It's a way for me to know who I got the idea from and thank them later for sharing their idea/tutorials but I don't look at it everyday or week. Not much time between work, home life out side activities and reading and writing blogs. But no one should make you feel intimidated for not using pinterest. You have an awesome day
