Snow...Fun...Home-Owner-Work...Family...

(Kate and Pop, making Newman's Creamed Potatoes)
 ~
The weather man said we have a change-in-the-weather coming.  After many days of sun, we won't have sun for a while.  Mmmmmm, I don't need the weather man to tell me this.  My bones do just fine, as weather predictors.  (Sad to say...)

Can you see the snow, which we got on Sat.?  Off and on, off and on...  It didn't last of course.  But there was more than just flurries!!!!

Haven't been listing my reading, of late.  But I'm still "at reading."  Found another author, whose books I have been enjoying.  3 of them, so far.  They are a bit spooky, so I want to switch off, to something lighter, now though.  ,-)

Been really enjoying a series of cozy, light, witch-y books!!!  By Madelyn Alt.  I've been able to get about 5 of them, from the library.  One (not in library system) I found on line, on a used book site, and that came in the mail.  But, the very LAST book in this particular series, seems not to be ANYWHERE!  Weird!  "In Charm's Way" isn't in my library system, like most of the rest are.  It isn't even available anywhere on the net.  (That I could find.)  Come on, these are just little, light books.  Not heavy reading.  Why should a book be gone missing, so completely???

 (Brothers, having fun...)
~
Weird little computer glitches happening, the day when I am composing this part of this entry...  Weird...  Odd...   ??????????    -pout-

(My Daughter-in-law has assembled a pretty wall-of-old-family-pics, in her hall...)

Do you sometimes go back and read a blog, which you haven't followed in ages?  I did that today.  And it was great fun.  "Tongue In Cheek" by Corey Amaro.  Always a delight.  This woman has so much Joy Of Life!  She seems to bubble over with it, and it comes through, in her blogging.  :-)

Did you ever read/follow Corey?

The Joys of Home Ownership!!!  :-(  A couple of tiles, in front hall, had to be fixed.  Which means off comes a piece of molding,  grinding has to be done,  this and that and the other thing, have to be done...  Naturally, I don't understand any of this, but he is the "Jack Of All Trades".  He is doing it.   Not a fun Sat. project though...   Oh well, just glad he can do these things.  :-)

(More pics, from the old country road-side store, at the Orchard...)
~
You have to admit that someone had a lot of fun, painting that counter, above!!!  :-)  It must have been jolly, to have a place, where it was perfectly OK, to mix/and/match lots of colors.  An example of "coloring outside the lines."  :-)

Kind of like being a kid again, and not having to Stick To The Rules!

How little of this we get, once we grow up, and become *Adult*.  -sigh-

I love that picture of the store with the multi coloured bar - not to mention a flask of hot cider.
You are always doing things around the house - it makes me feel guilty. Although I have just jetwashed my driveway and it's taken me three weeks (well, weekends), a lot of freezing cold and wet conditions not to mention being splattered with specks of moss. Nice!

Any time one must work on the knees is a challenge. Hope that Uncle got it done in record time and without too much knee time.

Your daughter-in-law's wall is positively inspiring. What a great job she did with it.

No snow here; in fact, it's been unseasonably warm in the high 40sF. All about to change I'm sure.

I just went to The Vermont Country Store to see the items, and there really are some cool things on there (per a comment you left me). :)

I love your daughter-in-law's hallway pictures.

We had a good snow this week too...it was literally pouring snow (it looked like rain but was snow). It's gone now. :( I'd like it to stick around this weekend because there's no school and the kids love it.

I would love some snow ... we don't get much here, just a fall or two per year that hangs around for no more than a week or two and then is gone. I think I was meant to live somewhere like Alaska!

Found this - http://www.walmart.com/ip/15966327 - looks like the book is between print runs and is available again at the end of December.

I love those jars...they had some at the thrift store..now I wish I would have got them...you should always buy when you see it there cause they won't be there when you get back...we are lucky to have Hubbies that can do repairs needed..too many men can't now a days...

I just happened to look out my bedroom window before getting on the computer and noticed it's started to snow over here! We've had a couple of snow flurries before but nothing that has stayed on the ground for long...I think this will be the same thing.

I just love the old family pictures that your DIL put on her wall. I've done that in my living room:-)

Uncle A certainly is a jack of all trades but as you say, thank goodness he can pretty much do/fix everything himself. Imagine all the money you're saving by not having to call someone else to do it!!

That counter is so much fun!! The first thing I noticed, though, is the hot cider! lol Now I'm craving it!!!!

Enjoy your Sunday, dear Auntie. xoxo

I like Uncle A's suspenders.

I couldn't find any books by Madelyn Alt in my library.

No, I've never read Corey's blog but I'm about to remedy that right now.

Oh Auntie

Please tell me the names of the books - you know I love that kind of thing! Saw Twilight last night - loved it, but kinda sad to see it end.

I'm off to lay a little more catchup!

Oh how I wish we had some of that weather...I have only seen snow twice in my life, once in Michigan and another in time in Chicago ...it's in the mid 80s here in South Texas..went swimming on Sat..I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a cold front ..they say it will drop to the upper 60s. Yay..

I had to brush the snow off my car on Sunday morning but by the time I got out of church the sun was out and no snow. :) Your fortunate to have a jack of all trades in your home. :)
