Remembering, and other things...

.  .
 .  .
"On December 7, 1941, the Japanese Empire launched a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor killing over 2,000 service members. The attack would bring the United States into the Second World War."
.  .
Not many citizens alive today, were alive then...  So this is not a Big Remembrance.  I was alive then, and I remember WWII.  So, I will remember.

3 cozy books, set at Christmas Time...  Loved the title of "A Killer's Christmas In Wales."  -grin-  So I started with that one.  Mmmmmmmmm.....   Wow but it is moving SLOWWWWLY...  -moan-  Guess I've been reading books which move at a quicker pace, 'cause this one is getting boring.....   -poooo-

Do you think we should get a new set of measuring cups??????????????   -grin-   How much less readable will they have to get, hu?  Before we do so???  ,-)   Just another one of those little things, which we know, but which we seem to be able to *forget.*

Do you Dear Reader, have any examples in your own life, to add and share?  ,-)

Seems I have to make this a really short blog entry.  -grin-

With luck, more pics and *stuff* coming, tomorrow...  :-)

No, I do not remember "this day that will live in infamy," but I should remember it! Thank you for reminding me.

Auntie, if you don't get a new set of measuring cups for Christmas... Oh my!

Having been born in 1957, I wasn't around when the bombing of Pearl Harbor happened but we did learn about it in school and every year they talk about it in the news. It definitely is a day we should never forget!!

My measuring cups looked very similar to yours before I finally bought myself a new set! lol As you say, sometimes it's little things like that, that you never think of buying while at the store.

I'm finally finding the time to visit some blogs again!!! I hope you're enjoying these days leading to Christmas dear Auntie:-) xoxo

Though I wasn't alive I do remember learning about the day.
My mom started a new job in the Post Office on this same day when I was in the third grade and I always remember the two things together.

I have an old potato peeler that I've had since I've been married. My daughter once bought me a new one, I used it once and went back to my old one. I like it best!!

I finally broke down and bought a new set of measuring cups not long ago. I really need a new set of cookware as I'm still using the stainless steel set we got for a wedding gift 41 years ago. One saucepan has had the handle come off. Probably because the older stuff shouldn't be put in the dishwasher, but I do it anyway.
I was born 5 years after the Pearl Harbor attack. I'd heard much about WWII from my FIL who fought in the war.
Have a great weekend!

Hi Auntie

Well I know that, but didn't really "remember" until you just mentioned it. Too much going on in my little mind...

I have metal measuring cups with the measurements stamped into the metal - love them!

It was a terrible day...My Frank has been watching all the world war two movies today. War is a horrible thing...but will always be with us. Your right about how quickly we forget...I still need the numbers on my measuring cups and spoons. :)

I wasn't born then, but I still remember... it affected those around me in some way, and I will continue to remember until the day I die...

Now, for your measurin' cups... Scrub the rest of that icky black off, get you a Sharpie and re-label those guys. They still work! Only person that ever sees 'em is you. Unless you want some purdy ones to use when company comes - then I'd go get me some more!
