(Noticing shadow/light patterns, around the house... Walls in bathroom/laundry...
NOT so *orangy* looking, in real life!...)
Just was bouncing around in Pretty Blog Land. I started out in the comments of a blogger, who posts nice big photos, like I do. And so the difference in pic-size (in these new-to-me blogs), was so noticeable. -sigh- So many blogs, with lovely pictures posted, but all scrunched in the middle. The way posts show, unless the blogger has learned to look into their Settings, and make their words/pics show wider across. -sigh-sigh-sigh-
If only those bloggers had taken the time to make their Settings, so that all their photos would look large immediately, when someone opens their blogs....... -sigh-
I know. Everyone's blog is their own. No one has to make their pictures larger, to ease my blog reading.
But am I the only Blogger, who wishes this, though??????????????????????
Should I do a post, on How To Change Blog Width Settings?

Me'things most ladies remember playing with paper dolls, years ago. And some remember playing with them, with daughters. And others remember playing with them, with "Grands." Sweet memories...
Have any Dear Readers read Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now"?

when i was a little girl i had a box full of paper dolls. i loved those things and played with them endlessly!
Sure! That would make a good post. I know how to do it and maintain mine so that I can use a certain size photo in my sidebar. You have given up your sidebar, right?
Believe it or not, lots of people do not like the largest setting for photos all the time. If I have a lot of photos, I try to use a variety of sizes just for something different. If I don't think a picture is particularly noteworthy or if it is a view I often share, I do not always use the large setting. That's my story and I am sticking to it. :D
Ditto to Vee's comment. I want to keep my sidebar so that kind of limits my blog space.
It's funny you should have mentioned this today, because I had to use the ctrl - (control key and minus key) to scrunch your blog down enough so that it would all show on the screen at the same time! :)
Lovely header and background - they go particularly well with the beautiful paper doll images.
An easy way for you to view anyone's blog who has smaller font or smaller photos that is comfortable for you is to do this?
Hold down your "Control" key on your keyboard and at the same time, hit the + key that is located on the top row of your keyboard.
+ enlarges. With every hit of the + the entire blog will get larger. To decrease the size, do the same thing except hit "control" and - (right beside the plus key.) That way, you won't have to do anything fancy in order to see things larger or smaller. Just "control + " or "control - "....
This works for other pages on the net, too...not just blogs. Sometimes the font is soooo small that I can't read it, so I use the "control" method to magnify!
:))
Sending you hugs and love,
Jackie
Yes! You Should do a post on how to widen the blog...Anything's helpful!
Also, have read The Power of Now...kind of heavy but I got through it...I love these types of books...

I loved paper dolls when I was a kid. My gramma always had some at her house and we used to play with them. : ) Happy Memories!
from age 6 until i was in high school, i had a suitcase full of paper dolls. i loved them. some were bought and some i cut the men and women out of sears catalog after gluing them on card board from daddy's shirts at the cleaners. made them stiff, then i designed clothes for them. when i was a child paper dolls were a big thing. and fairly cheap so mother could buy them for me.
I loved playing with my paper dolls. I tried to get my little grand daughter to play but she was not interested, BOO HOO. :(
I loved paper dolls
Jackie is right in how she told you to enlarge the post.
I loved paper dolls.
And it wouldn't hurt to give us a lesson.
As a kid I don't know which I loved best - cutting all the clothes & accessories out or playing with them. It always made me a little crazy when the paper tabs would not work well and dress would fall off the doll. This problem disappeared around 1965 when Matel make all those sets of Colorforms. Does anyone remember them. They were vinyl paper dolls and the clothes would just cling to the dolls and no tabs were needed. I think you punched these off of the vinyl sheets they were printed on rather than cutting them out. They should bring back a lot of those wonderful simple toys for todays kids. Who wouldn't love Spirograph or Lite Brite? I think some of the best toys ever were made in the 60's & 70's. Thanks for wonderful memories of simpler times Auntie,
Auntie, can I suggest you read the footnote to my post of 12th January, Gathering Moss, which gives links to tools like iPadPeek and Browsershots ... if you run your own blog's URL through those programmes you may find that with your big pics it is too wide for the folks using mobile devices. It's always good practice to check how your blog actually looks in other browsers etc.. My pics, given that I want to keep my sidebar, are big but not huge, as I am set to the maximum width overall that works on an iPad, not that I own one, but many of my readers do. Hope that helps :D
