I'm feeling like perhaps we shouldn't just succumb to the Winter Blahhhhhs... After all, Winter is here. It will run its course. The Wheel Of The Year will not turn any faster, because we are tired of this Season or that Season. So... Why not look for the jolly parts of Winter???? :-) Just look at that quote.
"The light is what guides you home;
the warmth is what keeps you there."
~Ellie Rodriguez
Isn't that lovely? And inspiring? And if we can't come up with our own inspiration, "The Cottage Journal Email" comes up with some lovely suggestions.

How does "Lemon Chicken Soup With Spinach" sound???
OH OH! As I said, I got these pics/ideas from my "Cottage Journal Newsletter," in email. But I can't seem to link to it/them, here. -pout- Sorrrry....

Or "Beef and Wild Mushroom Stew"....?
Meals like those, can help us more-like cold Jan. weather. So can curling up in a comfy chair, with a cup of something hot, and perhaps a nice, plump novel. While around you, your home looks cozy and warm and welcoming. A fire in the fireplace... (Or a dvd fireplace, on the tv) Guess the trick is....... Thinking how delightful it feels, to be snug inside, when the temps are low, low, low outside.

If one was lucky enough, to have a trunk full of quilts, they could be put around on furniture... Making things look warm and cozy. ~~~~~~~~~ And don't forget!!! Remember to be grateful, that we have a roof over our heads, and food to keep us satisfied and warm...

From a review:
"In this fourth Royal Spyness mystery, penniless Lady Georgiana Rannoch desperately seeks escape from both London and her dreadful relatives. Rescue comes from the queen, who asks Georgie to attend a royal wedding in Transylvania. Georgie is the thirty-fourth person in line for the English throne, but she’s also an old schoolmate of the bride, Princess Maria Theresa of Romania. i like the trunk the quilts are in and also the quilts. i do see some sparkles. sometimes i can't get the camera to capture what i see.
I saw a few sparkles there, makes looking at the nasty snow more bearable haha the chicken and spinach soup sounds good too
I love the sparkles in the snow. I think sunshine shining off of snow is a truly beautiful thing. And I am with you on just succumbing to winter :) it's not going anywhere at the moment so we might as well enjoy its beauty.
I do....I DO see sparkles...
gosh, it looks cold. It's been so nice here the last day or two...60's, no wind...wonderful.
Yes, I can see the sparkles. And I know that in real life they're more wonderful than any photo can represent. But nice work catching them at all! :)
Hear, hear. Let's embrace winter and all its beauties, as with every season and time. It frustrates me to hear people complain, "Oh, it's snowing again. I could do without that." I love the snow, and after last year's drought I want us to get all the moisture we can. (Plus it's beautiful, and more fun than rain.)
I like the idea of having the quilts around. Pretty and nice to be under one keeping warm.
I don't really mind the cold as long as the sun is out and if your dressed for outside it is actually nice. It has been unusually cold for my part of MD and I'm surprised how quickly I have become used to the colder temperatures.
I see the sparkles on the snow, and I love them! Thank you for sharing them with me. (Remember, we don't have snow here...sigh.)
Hoping that your weekend is lovely and that you have a beautiful week, my friend.
Love,
Jackie
