A new food store opened, at the mall. (Healthy Living) We went for the first time, today. It is HUGE! We walked the perimeter and up and down isles. Between that, and getting to it, in the mall, and walking back from it, in the mall, we got in about 45 min. That, and the rainy morning weather, had my legs aching. LOL. Yes, wimp-I-am.
Other son and his wife, are very into "healthy eating," which is wonderful! This store only has Organic items for sale, so it's much easier to bring more healthy food, into the house. Needless to say, we have only "scratched the surface" of what they offer, there.
Son/wife even got a Juicer, and make some of those veggie/fruit Drinks. Which I have yet to try, but I will. And we have yet to get a Juicer, because I looked, and there are a LOT of different kinds, to choose from. Don't want to just go-out-and-get-one, without some more "looking."

"Healthy eating son" has linked me to a couple of on line sites, which tout healthy eating, etc. Like most things, there is "some wheat and some chaff", shall we say. ,-) It probably would be WONDERFUL, to go-all-the-way with such Healthy Eating. But it also seems a bit UNLIKELY, that I will.
So one message, in the video, resonated wit me. It was.... Add as many healthy eating foods/drinks to your life style, as you can. Probably so doing, will increase your HEALTHY eating a lot, just adding in. With a lot of luck, you'll push out, a lot of the un-healthy eating, you have been doing.
"Standing In Another Man's Grave"
by
Ian Rankin
I've never read a book by Ian Rankin. But this book, which is 18th in a Series, has made me want to go back and read the very first in the Series.

As someone who has incorporated healthy eating into their daily life, I can honestly say, it really works. Even my skin looks so much better. When I had my garden I used to make a fresh juice every day, and I felt so well. It gave me a healthy, not speedy like coffee, kind of energy. I juiced so much I went through three juicers until we finally settled on a professional grade model which I still have, about 18 years later. I still juice when I have time, but it is very expensive here in the city when you have to buy your veggies.

healthy food store and you helped your health with 45 minutes of walking to get there, nothing healthier.
Good for you, Auntie! I think it is wonderful that you are willing to change...even a little, your life style to be as healthy as possible!
That nice walk in the store was good for you and Uncle A., too :)
Hugs,
Jan
We don't have one of these types of stores in the town I live - but there is one about 35 miles north that I need to go visit. It would be worth it to make the extra trip a time or two per month.
Not sure if one is around here, but all I eat is healthy food anyway, so I'm good.
I like the sound of tha grocery store! Although sometimes the prices get so high, I suppose we shouldn't let that stop us for nutrition sake but one only has so many dollars to spend.
I haven't read anything by this author , will check it out!!!
hmmm...is this a national chain? i've never heard of it. it sure is nice to have one by you though!
We enjoy healthy eating as we try and grow a lot of what we eat ourselves...
Hugs,
Jackie
Auntie, When we older folk try to eat healthy, it seems a chore...we are so use to our basic food groups, twinkies, ho-ho, suzy q's and ding-dongs. LOL I used to work with a fellow who would say, nicotine, caffine, salt and sugar were his choices. Yikes. I wish you luck in doing healthy eating. I cut corners where ever I can when eating white foods. Like bread, potatoes, sugars, pasta...
xoxo, Susie
I've got one but haven't ever USED it!! Bad me!

My son drinks those healthy drinks. I've had some but I really prefer chewing my fruits and vegetable rather than drinking them. But we are all different. : )
You probably walked 2 miles or so. : )
I'm not too big on juice unless it's OJ.
We really don't eat much processed food - I buy fresh as much as possible and if not fresh then frozen.
Glad that you got a good walk in - plus walking in the mall is fun.

small changes can make big differences....
We surely don't eat as healthy as we should. We try, tho....:)
We also have a new store here that has healthy foods...you have inspired me to go try it. :)
Your header is so cute with you little dragon....:)
oh that book sounds freakin' awesome. i need to check it out. so cool. ( :
have a great week - eating healthy. ha. ha!!
We take that healthy food approach in our daily life, Auntie. One reason I like Trader Joe's is that they have so many organic healthy choices at a more reasonable cost.
Hey there, stranger! Trying to get some visiting done today and so here I am!
We're eating healthier, too, Auntie. Now that gardening is about here I'm looking forward to eating right out of the garden again. I already have spinach and have been making smoothies with fat-free greek yogurt, 1/2 banana, some misc berries, a bit of apple, and a handful of fresh spinach. Just a bit of orange juice makes it blendable. You can't taste the spinach at all. You can use your blender to make a smoothie, you don't need a juicer unless that's what you want. Plus, I need the fiber!
Thank you for your encouragement and well wishes for my sister, Auntie. She's pretty special to me!
I definitely need to make some changes....especially as i sit here eating a donut while reading your blog...bad me!!!
