Got a kick out of Gabe's shirt. Sounds like a fancy vacation! But it just came, from his other Grandmother.
About my doc visit. Seems I have what is called Non-Allergic Rhinitis. Vasomotor / Irritant rhinitis is not caused by an allergen and does not involve an immune mechanism. But it seems to cause chronic year round symptoms. Lining of the nasal passages seems to be extra sensitive to irritants (dust, tobacco smoke, perfumes, detergents, odors), temp changes, humidity and air pressure. Patients have an exaggerated response to ordinary conditions, that most people tolerate without symptoms.
No apparent seasonal pattern of symptoms. Allergy skin test are negative.
In other words, she can't do anything for me. Other than give me samples of different nose sprays and inhalants, which she feels may work better, than what I have been using.
But the diagnosis in itself, is very, very helpful. When you know what's going on, you can handle it better.
Happy I went, though!!!
Did baking, for both of us. :-)
Took a pic of this Good Fats/Bad Fats chart, in one of the library books I have out. In case anyone is interested in some of the advice, about being Paleo. :-)
(Midsummer Eve was created in 1908 by Edward Robert Hughes, a
Pre-Raphaelite. This turn-of-the-century art movement focused on the
natural world.)
Don't forget!!!
June 20th, Thursday night, is 'Midsummer Night's Eve.'
Celebration takes place... Romance is in the air... It's the time of Summer Solstice... The time of the longest day and shortest night of the year... There are many festivals with the theme of fire... Giving thanks for the return of the Sun... As the earth shifts from winter to summer...
Shakespeare left us, his delightful "Midsummer Night's Dream." Watch the film compact disc, if possible. Or listen to the music from the film, on CD.
Read my 37th book... "Brownies and Broomsticks"... Delightful first book, in new series of cozy mysteries. The "Magical Bakery Mysteries"... So glad there are more!

good news/bad news on the allergy thing. i must have that to... my sinus kill me when i first wake up but during the day nothing... i sneeze a lot but not all the time. i had an allergy test back in 1986 and i am allergic to bug spray all kinds. if someone sprays Off on them i can't breathe and if i touch it i swell. that is all they found.
Never heard of such a thing, but at least you now know, that is always good.
sorry to hear about your nose, I have a friend with this, took for ever to find out what was wrong, very annoying problem, avoidance is the only thing that really helps her, and th neti pot used right when she comes home from being out side or away, thats sounds like a great series,
Glad you found out what's been bothering you. I do hope the nose sprays work well for you.
With our 90+ temps here, I thought summer was already here. hahhaa...
well atleast now you know...hopefully you will be able to find relieve...love that t-shirt....I will definitely celebrate summer...my favorite time of the year!!!
Mine turned out to be sinus issues. I think the pain is the worst of it and all they could offer me was sprays as well.
This year I really can't wait for summer to begin because this year I will be able to enjoy every day of it...even those rainy days that all I do is lounge about the house. Can't wait.
Mary
i have the same kind of allergies. i just live with them and ignore them as much as i can. i can't wait for midsummer! countdown to fall shall begin. i need to think this way to distract myself from the weather we are about to get.
Maybe now that you know what you have, you can treat it better. It's good to know that the allergies aren't too severe.
Sweet pic of Gabe with his new t-shirt and those cute little shoes.
Ahh Flyboy was just diagnosed with this last fall. He takes Zyrtek and it seems to help better than Claritin.
Like you said at least you have a diagnosis:)
xo
It is always good to know what you're dealing with.
