♥Set another place, around the table... :-))))))

♥♥~♥♥
The top part of the desk, which 'Pop' is making for Jake (11 years).  He wanted me to take a picture of it, before he puts it on the base.  I print the pics out and he keeps them in his file of projects.

A little bit of leaf-turning-color, on our walk.

And a sad example of how some leaves are simple withering...
From all the rain we had, is the reason being given.

An Exchange Student from Italy...  Her first Host Family setting did not work out.  (Small school, in small place, and no one would try to be friendly.)  Our daughter is her connection with the Exchange Student Group.  She was at our daughter's last weekend, and is there this weekend too.  And one of our sons and his wife, are probably going to host her, for the rest of her stay.  :-)
 ~
The way has already been cleared, for her to go to our HS, like our Japanese "Granddaughter" is doing, and loving it, btw!!!    We hope that the girl above, will soon be a member of our extended family too.  Not living right here on *the compound,* but still a member of it.  :-)

Our extended family is growing!!!  And it's wonderful.  :-)

Just the reflection of 'Fairy Lights,' on the eating-area-of-kitchen-floor.  :-)

and produce so pleasant an effect on the feelings, as now in October."  ~~ Nathaniel Hawthorne

So you're hanging out here? And you're going to post every now and then? Wonderful! It's not the same without you.

Oops. Now I can comment on the things you posted about. Uncle does fabulous work. What amazing gifts he gives the grands who have something that will last a lifetime. Beautiful, beautiful. Is there anything he couldn't build? I doubt it.

What a welcoming family you have...a very good thing. I'm glad that both the Japanese grand and the Italian one will have excellent experiences at the high school in your community.

What's Gabe up to these days?

COMMENTS ??? When did this happen? I am just delighted to be able to leave a comment again.
Hope you are liking it better, too. :)

She is such a beautiful girl. How exciting to have girls from other countries...everyone enjoying a learning experience.

I LOVE that desk top...awesome.

Lovely post! You and your family are the picture of HOSPITALITY! I smiled when you used the term living 'on the compound.' My stepson has property near Waco and hosts many Karate Camps. People call it a compound because of all the camping quarters and such. NOT a good idea to call it that here in TEXAS after all that happened in Wavo at that Davidian Compund some years ago. Glad you guys can still use that term and no one gets upset!

Hi Auntie!

Love the desk - it takes a special person to work with wood, and make something that beautiful! What a lucky grandson!

I would say that the small community this beautiful exchange student from Italy came from is really missing out! What a shame that no one would befriend her - really, shame on them! They certainly are missing out on a great opportunity to learn more about the world they live in and those who live in it! You and your family are wonderful to take her in and make her feel welcome and loved ... :0)

Have a wonderful week-end!

Hugs,
Barb
