♡Asking for pie making experience...

  ♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡*♡

Today really looks like a November day, as well it should, of course.  :-)

I hope all your Thanksgiving Plans are falling into place.

We have to make the Dressing and Apple Pie, but that will be late on the day before.
 ~
"Uncle A." and Son and "Grands" combine to make the Dressing, late in the early evening of Wed.  It's fully cooked, and placed in the refrigerator, over night.  It doesn't go-in-the-bird, until the oven is all pre-heated.  Then the bird is stuffed, and popped right into the oven.  No danger!!!  Of Dressing being served, uncooked.

I'm considering putting the Apple Pie together on Wed. and baking it on Thurs. morning.  Does anyone have any suggestions, about this??????????  I always make my pies, on-the-day-of-eating-it.  But this does make for a bit of 'huff' and 'puff' and 'rush'.   Do Dear Readers have experience with putting a pie together, the day before???

My advice buy one!! Perkins has the best caramel apple pie in the world.

I've never assembled then baked the next day. Does it have a double crust or a crumb topping? I'd be afraid that the crust may become gummy. Can you bake it the day before and just store it. Day old pie still tastes good to me? Or are you serving it warm with rich vanilla ice cream. Mmm...

Hopefully someone else has some experience for you.

Set my table today.

I have always, of necessity, made the pies the day before. Now I'm wondering, though, if apples can be peeled and readied and kept in cold water with a bit of lemon juice as some people do with their vegetables the day before. Don't mean to muddy the waters and I won't be doing that myself. Happy planning...

John saw the pie in your header and wants to know how far it is to your house. Ha! Is it a cherry cobbler? It looks delicious whatever it is!
