Isn't this tree, a *show stopper*? Still vibrantly RED. The leaves, not yet faded. I just had to stop and take a picture. ~~~~ Wish I knew what the tree is. It's so, so, so, so, so beautiful... -happy sigh-

(It's by a carriage house, up the alley.)
-Shushhhhhhhhhhhhhh-
I'm going to be a wee bit Un-PC here, perhaps. Well, for "Pretty Blog Land," that is. ,-) It will be Un-PC for me to say that I'm feeling OD'ed on Thanksgiving.
.
Giving Thanks for this, and giving Thanks for that. And Thanksgiving Dinner Planning. And recipes. And etc., etc., etc. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeewww...

Yup, I know. It's just *Ol' Auntie* being grumpy. LOL. Yup, I suppose so. :-) Oh well, no matter if I am grumpy or not, the Thanksgiving Hoopla is going to continue. It's just me, as usual..
But at least, I said it! I got it out! I said it, here on my own blog. I will not explode, from keeping it inside. LOL..
Everyone carry on happily! With any/all Thanksgiving Related Posts you wish. I know. If I'm feeling over-loaded, I can just not read! Simple! So simple..

(A pretty weed... A Milk Weed...)
In WWII time, people gathered Milk Weed pods, and contributed them to the War Effort. They were used in the making of parachutes.

Yesterday we started a new House Cleaning Plan. -grin- I made a list of what needs to be done. From this list, we pick out a daily task. Yesterday/Mon. we did what's listed below. Today/Tues. the Hearth Room will be done. Could we possibly have hit on a work-able plan?!?!?!?!? -grin- It's too soon to tell. But hope springs eternal.

Lovely photos. The firey red tree is a Japanese Maple. . . . aren't they glorious!
Thanks for stopping by - I posted your delightful Jane Austen quote as my Facebook status!
See you again!
Hi Auntie!
Well, I just have to say that I'm thankful for you sweet friend.... ;0) I hear you, and I feel the same way about all the Christmas happenings before Christmas, I wish they would just let it be!
Your pictures are so pretty! All the leaves have fallen off of our trees here. Everything is bare . . . at last! I love the milk weed, and such a little known fact about WWII! I read that the other day at the museum. Isn't it amazing what nature offers us?
You are so ambitious, I need to make a list and stick to it, good luck with the plan!
Hugs,
Barb
Beautiful picture of the red tree. Mother Nature's last glorious exit before the winter sets it. My floors are clean also, swept and wiped up yesterday. Today its snowing big chunks, after a few household chores, I intend to finish up some of my sewing projects. Will post finished results tomorrow. There I've said it....have to really get at it!! Enjoy your day.
Oh how I love the red leaves on that Japanese Maple! It's making me miss the beautiful Autumn colours that have been gone from here for a month now. Only bare trees around here!
Grumpy Auntie??? No no no no, we mustn't have that:-) I imagine it is hard, though, to deal with Thanksgiving so close to Christmas. With us having it in October, we just need to concentrate on Christmas as this time of year:-) We celebrate so many holidays on the same dates, I've always thought it odd that we don't celebrate Thanksgiving on the same date as well.
Such a coincidence that you should mention Milkweed because on Sunday I was invited at my brother in law's place for supper and his gf was showing me the Milkweed pods she had collected. When she opened one up, I was so surprised to see tons of that unbelievable soft silky seeds...I had never seen that before!! So interesting to now learn that they were used to make parachutes during the war!
I hope your day is going well my friend. xoxo
Lovely tree!! That alone should brighten your spirits!!
I used to do what I called MONDAY CLEANING. Every Monday I would clean all day and then just pick up the rest of the week. When I had two more children I did a Monday Clean WEEK! Spent one whole day on each room that week (combining 2 to make it come out even) and then for 3 weeks I only had the basic housework to do. NOW....my kids are gone but I have LOUIS DEAN. There IS no rhyme or reason to my system now. I just try to keep up! No telling what myhouse will look like when I get home Sunday after being gone for over a week! He has been HOME ALONE! Remember that movie? And the MESS that house got in??? And that it was SPOTLESS when the family returned??? Pure Hollywood! As a child the cartoons would irritate me because Donald Duck or whomever was always messing up the house! YES....I know. I border on the neurotic!!!! You, my dear, have the better mental outlook on housework!!
Yep that tree is a Japanese Maple - gorgeous! And it's your blog so complain away:)

Japanese Maple. I think you need one of those - you can't be grumpy when you see one of these trees! Shame!
Sounds like a good cleaning plan you have there. Is Uncle participating? I sure hope so! I used to keep a very clean house til kids came along, then it slowly went downhill from there. I played with my kids and did things with them, and just let the house go. Now, I have to clean again!
There are a some of those trees around here too. So very pretty.
I can't help but be thankful. It's just my nature. : )
Lovely picture of the tree - Japanese Maple or Acer - I have three different coloured ones in my garden (one is still a baby - but I love it). The leaves are so soft they are just gorgeous to touch, delicate and a bit like running your hands through silk.
Great pictures - I love this time of year because of the colours.
Lynn :D
The red leaves on that tree do make your heart sing. Hope your house cleaning system works mine always ends up not working beacause life gets in the way. Love your little quote.
Beautiful tree! I'm glad that so many knew what it was. Now I'll just quietly tiptoe off...
Oh, I'm late, yet again. I love all your pictures...never saw one I didn't like. Also, I found your tidbit about milkweed so interesting. My mom and dad never mentioned it to me. Dad was in the Navy and mom worked in a war factory in Mt. Vernon New York. We're from Yonkers. I came after the war ... but often think that perhaps I was in the French resistance and was reborn again to this life. Anyway....I enjoy reading your posts, they seem so New Yorker like to me.
Peace and Happiness to ALL !
