But as I'm still having difficulties with my photos, I'll use lovely Seasonal pics from Vintage Catnip... Where all is free to take/use.

I just noticed. Susan Branch make a comment in my last post, and explained about "the free stuff," etc. Thank you.

Dear Reader, I'm going to share a writer with you... Whose books I have been enjoying. Lovely, lyrical, descriptive writing this woman does.... Franny Billingsley (click-able link below) is her name, and I do so hope you will find even one of her books and read it. Betcha' you'll *be hooked.* ,-)She has written 1 book for little ones. And 3 for Young Readers. But those who know me, know I often have a delightful time in the *Reading World of Younger and Young Adults*. :-) "Don't knock it till you've tried it", and all that jazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. :-)
In 2000, she wrote "Well Wished."
In 2001, she wrote "The Folk Keeper."
Then in 2008, came the little kids book, "Big Bad Bunny." (Which I have not read but it sounds delightful too.)
And in 20011, she wrote "Chime."
I first came upon "Chime," her latest book. Finished it and had to look for more books by her. Now I have read both "Well Wished," and "The Folk Keeper," and am sad. -pout- I wish she had MORE books out there, for me to find/enjoy!!! Can't say anything more positive than that, about books and a writer. :-)
Please click on her name Franny Billingsley
and it will take you to her site, where you can read about her books.
And if you read any/all, please let me know, how you liked it/them. Or if you didn't like them. Reading is a very individual activity. ,-) And not every person, likes the same book. Of course... :-)

Traditions that recall
The precious memories down the years,
The sameness of them all."

The sameness of them all."

Hi Auntie!
First of all, thank you for your nice comments on my blog... :0)
I love all of the clip art that you use on your blog, and you of all people, really do always acknowledge where you got it! I agree with the other comments, free is free - without conditions, if there are conditions that go along with the artwork, you should have to - pay.for.it. I really like Sus*an Bran*ch's art work, but that just does not seem right to me. Sorry Susan!
That said, I am going to try to find some of the books by Franny Billingsly at my local library - I can't wait to read them - I happen to really like young adult books.
I really love the nighttime old fashioned Christmas card - love it!
Hugs,
Barb
I get so many ideas for Christmas decorating here. Love the header. I, too, have a delightful time reading books for the younger crowd, especially my fairy tales. Whenever I am feeling down, I lose myself into a world of fantasy. Nothing like it.

So cheerful...so bright...everything looks just right. (Seems I'm having some trouble with needing to rhyme "ight" words.) Okay, I'll follow the link though I have zero time for reading anything but blogs. Blogs, blogs, I'm floating in a sea of them...
Interesting: I am reading Chimes by Charles Dickens, his second Christmas tale.
Are you kidding me? I love books period. And I so enjoyed your share today. Lovely. [I too don't like the negatives, tho I post rants sometimes...on my blog...negative action created a negative reaction, right?!!]
My Sunday Blog post link is: If a Tree Falls in the Swamp -do you hear it?
Hope you're having a glorious day!!
I understand about the free stuff now - makes good sense.
I'll check out the books.
I too enjoy reading young adult and children's book also.
I just love your blog !! It is always so upbeat and pretty. (o:
auntie - you always find the cutest pictures - I'll have to check out Vintage Catnip! I really like your little elf - I have the elf that my MIL had for my husband -it's a little faded, but it goes on my tree. I have 3 more little elves that I bought for my kids. also sock monkeys - love me some sock monkeys! Have a wonderful fabulous week!
Wish I could dress like those little girls. So cute. Going to go check out the books you suggested. I enjoy reading anything even the cereal box. Stella
