♡Ding-dang-new-fangled-lights... >,-)

Yes Dear Ones, the "Faerie Lights" (above) which I don't like, are new LED ones.  And eventually, that is all we will be able to buy.  -sigh-  I don't like the coolness of them.  I do not like the bright, blue-whiteness of them.  You can find some, less B-R-I-G-H-T.  And I did.  And I replaced those above, on my mantle.  Just haven't yet taken new pics yet.  I will put the too-bright ones in another place and will show you, when it's done and I take pics.

Tell me..........  Will LED lights eventually be The Law?  Not yet, I guess.  But when we can not buy "any-but-LED", won't that make-it-the-law?  Then, if we use old ones, will be
be subject to arrest, by the "Politically Correct Police"?  Hmmmmm..........?

We do not have lots of presents to get, any more.  I convinced family to concentrate on gifts for the Grandchildren.  When adults need something, they find a way to purchase it.  So why a flurry of "just-because-boxes," under the Christmas Tree?????  It wasn't easy, but over time, I convinced them.  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeew...

 Every Mother remembers the angst of asking herself questions like;

"Does each person have an equal number of presents to unwrap?"
.
"When unwrapped, do they look equal-in-value?"
"I can not find the thing, which one person 'wants'!!!!"
.
"Do the piles of packages under the Tree, "look" equal?"
 *-:~*-:~*-:~*-:~*

Ohhhhhh the pressure!!!!!!!!  Oh the actual pain of gift giving, which goes with it!!!!!!  Oh the relief, when that pressure/pain is finally removed!!!  :-)

Looks like the Patio Pumpkin is going down, even more.  :-)

The tree is ready, the candles alight:
Rejoice and be glad, all children tonight!"

Oh no you don't. You're not going to get me all cranked about those $^#$@ LED lights. Have you seen them on headlights? They about tear the eyes right out of my head.

I'm not crazy about the LED lights either. Like vee i don't like them on headlights!!

We don't exchange gifts anymore either - just give the grandkids gifts. Besides we don't have any family living near and would have to mail everything. Ken and i will just get each other a few little things just to have something to open on Christmas morning.
I tend to make things throughout the year to give to people anyway and don't wait for Christmas.

Less bright LED will probably be available in the future. Remember when those 'squirrly' fluorescent bulbs only came in BRIGHT? They now have smaller soft white ones......so maybe 'they' will figure out the Christmas ones in time!

I agree totally about the gifts!! That's exactly the way we do it here! As for gifts under the tree.....I have two sets of the pretty Christmas gift boxes in various sizes under there. That's in the living room. Under another tree I use pretty Christmas gift bags!
WIN! WIN!! No huge shopping excursions for ME!!

I too just loathe LED lights and headlights. Can't stand them and won't have them.

Now that we have ten grands and one great grand we only gift the young ones. Our oldest grand is 25 and she's married with baby so she's cut off to make room for her little boy! As they start work we have to cut them off, we just can't afford it anymore. Making ends meet is very hard these days.

That does sound like a good idea, to just concentrate on presents for the grandchildren. It can just work out so expensive otherwise. I am working to a budget this year, but probably still spending too much. As you say, if the grownups want something, they can usually buy it for themselves. I loved that quote at the end, which you also entered on my blog in your comment today. Thank you! It's lovely to have you back.

Hey if one of the kids looks a little ahead of the game, as far as presents goes, just tell them that's the kid you love the most. That will set them back a pace or two. PS. I do the same thing, that equal thing. Its not fair!!!

I am going to hoard all my old lights and sneak them out at night when no one is watching. I have decided to just gift certificates this year for all. Just seems simpler as all my grandchildren or either teen or pre-teen and I just don't have a clue what to buy anymore. I will miss the choosing of presents and the wrapping but so much simpler.

I get such a kick out of these squirrels. He's really enjoying that pumpkin. wish you could get a shot of him eating it.

Managed to fix my blogs. So much unnecessary work. This was a Picasa problem. Why can't they ever leave well enough alone?

LOL...I got a kick out of the politically correct LED lights. You got that right. Seems more and more these days we Americans have no choice of things that are being sold to us. And that's not right. But, I'm still 'old school' and wish for difference, yet ---well, as you say....

And gifts for adults. Yep, you got that right too. We seem to buy what we want/and or/need throughout the year...spend it wisely on children instead. When I was single and still home, we used to draw names [after we turn 16, we only bought ONE gift - for the name we drew] which took a lot of stress off. We had a huge gathering each Christmas Day and this made it all the more pleasant.
