So I finally didn't post, in the AM...!!! :-)))

Foggy Tues. morning...

But the Weather Report says snow is forecast, for Tues. night through Thurs.  Hmmmm......

But then, when I woke up this (Tues.) morning, without even getting out of bed, aches/pains in my lower body, were telling me that *something-was-coming.*  And walking down the stairs, was "ouch"  "ouch"  "ouch"...  "Nana's" Weather Forecasting Bureau!!!

The puzzle "Pop" made for Gabe, is eassssssssssssy to do now.  Guess it's time he made another one.  :-)

Two by two...

Lots-a things to play with...

But he enjoyed stopping building, while "Nana" read "The Egg" to him.  He likes dinosaurs too!!!

After an appointment and errands, this morning (Tues.)...   We *attacked* the room upstairs, where we store all our holiday decorations.  And we got them boxed, bagged, and in the closet.  Hooray!!!

Now to keep up the good work!  Put more necessary boxed stuff, in closets.  Sweep the room.  Move his office drafting table in there, from another bedroom.   And...   Set up a table in there, where I can do some water coloring.

Don't point out, that this general plan, has been in-the-works for months!!!  Don't you dare!  -grinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn-

Finished William Gibson's "Spook Country."  It's NOT "Pattern Recognition," but I wonder if any book could be...  Because I really loved "Casey" (in "PR")...

More on this book, over on my "Auntie's Reads 2013" blog.  Click here........................

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Well, Valentine's Day is finally here!  And would you believe, I have a different Val-themed-pic to show.  -grin-  A shadows and Valentines pic.  (Ahemmm, and the blind over the sink, needs to be wiped off...)  ,-)

Obviously, my theme today, is Light and Shadow...
When you write your blog entry, is everything set to Centered?  Or to Left?  Or to Right?
Are you all ready to change your Background and Blog Look???   Now that the big Valentine Themed Holiday, is over?   I know!  If you are a busy gal, this blog-look-change is not at the top of your list.  But when one is an "olden gal", with more time, it can be *Important.*  :-)))))))))     But, what will it be??????
First, I need a new photo of mine, to be a new Header Pic.  ~~~~~~~~~~   Then I need to try to draw-water-color, a new Background.  But then, comes the problem of taking a pic of it, and having the background show up NICE and WHITE.    ~~~~~~~~~~     Yes, I wrote an email to Susan B., asking her, how it is done?  Hope she has time, to advise me.  :-)

In my blog, a Dear Reader commented that it's getting hard to come up with nice blogging ideas...  Since she doesn't do crafts everyday, or go to interesting places daily. And she no longer belongs to clubs.  So I commented back...

MY DEAR, I don't do ANY crafts.  A lot of days, I don't even get out of the house.  And I don't belong to "anything."  But yet, as you have discovered, I blog-like-a-bit-of-a-maniac.  -gigggles-

To me, blogging is simply About Life.  My Life happens to be lived mostly at home, and so that's what  I blog about.

And THAT is what I want to read, when I visit other blogs in Pretty Blog Land!!!  I want the reading of a blog, to seem like coming into your home, sitting down across your table from you, and then we have a chat.  THAT is blogging, in "Pretty Blog Land", to me.

So please, never feel you have to "do" something, to have something to blog about.  I love blogging, which is just about living.  Bits and pieces of our living.  Not allllll of it.  Not a Dear Diary thing.

But just this and that, this and that... Happenings, "wonderings", books read, hopes, irritations at times too....  Etc.

My (long and drawn out) message is?  That bloggers tend to worry too much, about what-to-blog.  Worry that it has to be fancy, or sparkly, or brilliant, or exciting, or....  Life isn't all those things, every day.

I love life, every day, blogged about.  How about you????

Do SOME bloggers worry too much, about "what to blog about"?

Should ask the "Mistress of....."... :-))))))

I'm running out of blogging inspiration.  Perhaps it's because I'm getting tired of all the Valentine's Day Stuff.  :-))))   This happens to me often...  After I've done a lot of *decorating* for a particular holiday, I'm sick of it, before the holiday actually occurs.  ,-)   ♥     This is not earth-shaking.  Just an observation.

Dee is going to try night-time-photography!  She is going to use her Night Time Setting, for the first time.   Hooooray!   Please share all you notice/learn, about this, Dee.  Because I have never, never, never mastered it.  But love some of the effects....  Of photos, after dark....  Especially what this does, to how forms of light, appear.    ♥      Hehhh, how about that????   I did find some more blogging inspiration!  From another blogger!  Thank you Dee.

Since I'm on this 'blogging-stuff-kick', I might as well continue.  :-)   Since it's so, so, so near to being finished with Valentine's Day stuff,  WHAT will I choose next?   I've had a couple of ideas, for trying to water-color a new Background.  (Hmmmm, what is the proper way to express that????  How say "DO a water-color"?  It's not "painting" like oils or acrylics are...  It's not simply drawing...  Hmmmm...???)

I suppose I should ask the Master Mistress Of Water Coloring...  Susan Branch.    :-)  I should also ask her, what kind of lighting she uses?  Or rather, what kind of lighting is used, when her Art is photographed???   Here, the best way for me to take a pic of something I did, is to lay it on white board, on the floor, in the full sunlight pouring in Den door....   ♥     But this does not, not, not strike me as the only way!!!  LOL.

Guess what???

Guess what?????????  It's snowing again.

Not sure how well it can be seen falling, outside the kitchen window.  But falling, it is!

I'm really enjoying re-reading William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition."  Loving following  'Cayce Pollard' (pronounce 'Cayce' as 'CASE') around the world, again.  Loving her minimalism.  And most probably "getting" more of the plot, than at the first reading.      A friend told me about this book years ago.  Read it.  Have never forgotten certain snips, of the plot.       It is so super, when one is really, really enjoying reading a book.  :-)

Only a couple of more days, till Valentine's Day.  :-)  Hope you are ready, if you do/plan anything for it.          Nothing here.  I can't eat chocolate.  And fresh flowers in the house, bother my allergies.  ,-)

One photo, of tea light reflections, in kitchen window.

And another...  I'm not sure which one I prefer, so I posted both.  :-)

The "story behind" the tea lights is kind of funny.   When "Uncle A." cooks a nice piece of beef, on top of the stove in the old iron frying pan........   Smoke usually happens.    And if we don't dooooooooo something, the smoke alarm at the top of the stairs, goes off!   With noise to wake the dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Eeeeeek!!!  So when smoke appears, we close both kitchen doors, to contain it.  Open windows/doors.  (Yes, in Winter!)  And I light tea lights!!!!    I have no idea how, but candles seem to dissipate smoke.

And so, I never pass up a Photo Op!!!  :-)

Look what's here?!? February!!! :-)

"Sprinkle liberally with Powdered Sugar..."  :-)  ♥    Yesterday began with almost spring-like conditions.   But temps fell during the day, and lots and lots of winds came along, too.
This is a pretty good size chunk of slate, which was blown onto the ice on the top of the pool cover.
But the sun shone through the prism, on one of the Den windows...
Not so nice, was wind damage.  Our power kept going out and coming back and going out and coming back.  Since it was random, I simply left my computer off...   No need to risk damage, with "Brown Outs."    :-(     ♥         So that made for an interesting rest of the day.  I kept at my laundry, which has *magically* "grown-like-Topsie" again.  Hehhhhhhh........  And I read and read and read in "Women Who Run With The Wolves."  Not easy reading.  Not like a cute little cozy mystery.  It's kind of WORK.   And I've tried to read it before.  But this time, I'm getting through the whole thing!!!  :-)
And now, we are in February.  The Wheel Of The Year is turning.  And thoughts go to Valentine's Day.    ♥     Not to Celebrating it.  Since I can't have Chocolates.  And real flowers, though lovely, cause me to sneeze and fill up.  -Blahhhhhhh-    ♥        But I do put up some Valentine decorations.  Why not?  I love, love, love, love, love any excuse for RED and for SPARKLES.  :-)))

Sat. this and Sat. that...

On Friday, "Uncle A." did a bunch of cooking.  He put a Crock Pot Short Ribs Dinner on to simmer.  Then he put a Meatloaf together.  We had some of the Meatloaf for dinner, Fri. night.  Naturally, the Meatloaf makes more than one dinner, and can be frozen.  The Crock Pot Short Ribs will be for Sat. dinner.  And it will provide another meal, later.  Plus, anything like a Crock Pot meal, tastes even better the next day.  Having been cooked, and then spent the night, in the refrigerator, it gets even more yummy.  Win/Win/Win/Win!
Finished reading "The Last Dragonslayer" last night.  (And yes my Dears, it's another kid's book.)  -grin-  It was a fun read, but NOT one of those books, which I *hate* to have end.  The last book I read, was  "The Power Of Now," so I went from DEEP, to Light.  Kind of a good mix.

And btw, "The Last Dragonslayer" may well be a kid's book.   But it's quite interesting, how many political viewpoints are shown, via satire.  Just like all those old Nursery Rhymes...  Whose basis may have been deep, dark political facts, of the time...   (Like "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary"for instance)...

do you?"  ~Judith Martin

Btw, I am trying to learn how to make my post layouts, a bit more interesting.  I actually made the pic of "Mary, Mary, Quite..." show up, on the RIGHT side of my words, up above.  This is easy to do, for so many of you Dear Readers.  But to me, it is a blogging FIRST!  -chuckle-

Last night, was the final "Fringe" program.  I used to be addicted to it.  He still is.  But I've become unable to watch all the dystopian horrors,  it's been dwelling on.  Actually, I can't read dystopian literature either.  My "Grand" and I, we who love a lot of the same books, don't agree on dystopian.  She loves it.  I hate it.  :-)

How about you Dear Reader?  Do you enjoy dystopian fiction?

Were you a "Fringe" fan?

Were you satisfied with the finale?

Btw, I could watch 'Peter' (Joshua Jackson, above) just "sit and read the phone book," as the saying goes.  He is quite delicious.   Yummmmmm...  I'm sure we'll see more of him, in the future.
