Since her on-line "Abbey's Hollow" Shop will close, 12/31/11...
And I had wanted one of the scents...
I had "Uncle A." get one for me for Christmas.
What with fighting off that silly cold, and the stuffy nose-etc.,
I had not opened the scent bottle, till this morning.
♡
Finally opened it and I love it. Now we will see if
Finally opened it and I love it. Now we will see if
my silly ol' *delicate* allergy-ridden nose.... Loves it. ,-)

Yesterday we walked downtown, doing a couple of errands. 1.) My right ear piercing, wants to close up, when I don't wear earrings every, every day. I got 2 pretty lavender earrings for Christmas... Want to wear them.... But know... the ear will hurt....
So, the only logical thing to do is put in a sterile (with alcohol) Post, and leave them in, for a couple of weeks. Got a pretty pair, down town. In the shop pictured above.
Here is a pic, of inside the shop. It was quite busy, but I tried NOT to take pics of people. Some may not like to see a woman, *snapping* pics.
♡
My posts are small but pretty... An old fashioned setting around a pinky-purple *stone.*
♡
They may cost a bit more, than to get them
at a Target. But I trust that they WILL be SILVER
and not irritate my ears more.
♡~-~♡~-~♡
And here was a precious, little Pug doggie, walking with his owner. The sweet doggie is 17 years old, we were told. He does walk with a *little-hitch-in-his-git-along.* :-)))
But we *Olden Folks* do that too!!!!!!! Isn't he precious???????

WARNING!
-chuckle- We did go back in that Specialty Shop! Where they have all those
decadent DESSERTS. Remember???? -grin-
They also have............
~-~
A large assortment...
~-~
Of many wonnnnnnnnnnnderful items.
~-~
And lots and lots of Deli offerings... This is just one bay.
~-~
And unique and *different* things!!!!!
Remember..... This is a "College Town." ,-)
~-~
But they didn't have more of the cans of Escargot, which we got in Nov., for our Anniversary. They have them, WITH shells. But we have our own shells.
But "Uncle A." managed to find some, on line. :-))))))) And they are
guaranteed to be here, so we can cook them New Year's Eve. :-)
To have with our "Bubbly," at home.
~-~
(Wine Store window... With train. But it was NOT going "round-n'-round.")
Early on New Year's Eve, we bundle-up and walk "2-doors-over" to Daughter's house, to say Hi to and Wish a Happy New Year to her in-laws, who will be visiting.
Then,
on the way home, we stop next door and do the same,
to Son and his Family. Perhaps sample a bit of their "dips/spreads." ,-)
Offer to bring them some Escargo later, when "Uncle A." cooks it....
(Son said he thinks he likes them....... -grin-)
♡
Then home to our own "Bubbly," and Escargot and whatever other *goodie*
we make... For New Year's Eve.
Watch something on tv.
Listen to the scanner, for police calls. (New Year's can have fun things to listen to. One year, there was a report of a man-running-naked-through-back-yards. One of which yards belonged to friends of ours!!!!!!)
♡
Our city has a FANTASTIC (so they say) "First Night" Celebration. But none of us go.
For us, NO driving. Safe at home. In our *jammies* and ready to *toddle* up to bed.
♡
Wondering what you Dear Reader, do.... For New Year's Eve????????????

For me New years is a quite night. If I can stay awake, I watch the ball come down, then nighty night. I really love that "goody" shop you go to, I would be broke from buying all their goodies. (o:
Love the pics Auntie!
We'll do pretty much the same...Cook black eyed peas, stay in and watch some tv...
Gotta stay off those crazy roads!
hughugs
We don't do anything for New Years. It is just another day here.
I tried to get the Jessica Verday books at our library and they DON'T HAVE THEM!! : (
Like that quote. I've used that one too.
I so prefer to be home New Year's Eve than anywhere else that I am sure that is exactly where we shall be. And I've not given any thought to what will be served. Each of the kids has his or her own plans so we'll be just the two of us enjoying a quiet evening.
Your evening sounds quite wonderful...social, but not excessively so. Sounds as if you are "at homers," too. Though you've definitely got more planned.
Love the little shops you share with us. Oh a tip about the ears. When putting in your new posts, first slide the posts through a little ointment. They go in much better and it heals anything that may be bothering. So I was told years ago and it's always worked for me.
i had to speed past the food pics, my body is in fat mode and might have grabbed calories. thanks for the tip on the earrings. i have worn earrings, siver every day of my life since i was 28 which makes i a LONG time. when i retired, i stopped wearing them, and would put them on when i went out, but would forget them. then i started wearing them only for dress up, like church and then they started to hurt when i wore them. then the holes looked like they were running, so i stopped all together. so from what you say here, i could go get the post and wear them for 2 weeks and they should get better?
New Year's Eve is my birthday...this time...my 74th. WOW...I still feel young, inside...but my mirrors sure are telling a different story.:))
We have family and friends over for a night of games, good foods, a little wine, lots of laughter...I sure am looking forward to it again this year. We watch the ball drop, everyone kisses each other and we have a bowl of Black Eyed Peas for good luck the whole of 2012.
Happiest New Year to you, my sweet friend.
Listening to the police scanner!!!??!!!
You are SUCH a delight!!!
I hope - for YOUR sake alone - there are some OUTRAGEOUS calls NY's Eve!!!
Oh my, do those desserts ever look wonderful, but I've decided that after the holiday. I really have to start watching what I fill myself up with. Not for vanity because I am long past that, but my breathing issues are getting worse, and I know a lot of it has to do with my weight. I put on over 60 pounds in less than two years.
I have the same issue with the holes in my ears. I've never worn big heavy earrings so the holes never stretched. I have to be careful to keep earrings in, and on vacation, I have to remember to put them in at least every two days or my holes will close...and I hate to tell you what a chicken I was to get them.
New Years will be a quiet time. Just me and hubby. Watching the ball drop at midnight with our ginger ale toast.
Mary
Enjoy the Escargot! We don't have any plans yet this year.
We stay home and go to bed early like every other night!
I love the fact that you are so close (living) to your son and daughter. How did that happen?
I'm afraid the Goatmother and the Goatfather are 'go to bed early' types too. Funny. They were laughing about the IHOP staying open until 10:00 on New Year's Eve, until the Goatfather said, 'Well, how long has it been since we stayed up until Midnight?' Ha!
The Goatmother says that silver always bothered her ears and kept them sore and closing up. She had to get 14kt gold! Now, though, years later, it doesn't seem to matter so much what kind she puts in, so there is hope. :) Happy New Year!
WE are going to a New Year's COSTUME party!
Stay tuned!!! Can't tell you yet who we are going as!
Hello, I am your newest follower. Love this post which I could go to this shop and buy some of those goodies. We always stay home on New Year's Eve. Too dangerous to go out, we used to when we were young but not now, we also watch tv, eat a few yummy things and stay in jammies just like you. We think it's fun. Happy New Year...Lu
Those shops all look wonderful. I love the pug's poncho! Good luck with your earrings.
We don't do anything exciting for New Year's Eve either. A movie at home and something self-indulgent to eat comprise the sum of our celebrations.
I love the idea of a "Detox Snack". What a glorious contradiction in terms.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog!
We will be with family at the cottage for a festive meal, then home for a quiet evening (the way we like it). Happy New Year to you, I hope you are feeling better.
We are going to be staying in on New Year's eve....hanging with the family! I think we are going to eat (although no escargot) and play cards and watch the ball drop on Times Square!
Kale chips? I don't think so....anything that sounds odd is not gonna be on my plate. I tried smoked octopus once and from that moment forward I vowed to stay away from the odd food stuffs. LOL
That doggie is adorable. And your new earrings...ya, I've had to do the same with my piercings before also. Hope all goes well with that on your side of the monitor!! It's not a pleasant thing to deal with, I know. Speaking of scents...my favorite is no longer around...it was from Avon and I loved it....Rose Geranium. I've often thought of how light and delicate it was. :::sigh:::
For new years? The two of us always stay home where it's safe and away from the drunks out driving the streets.
There's a 'WAR' in Texas
Happy New Year to you and your family. May 2012 bring you everything you wish for in the coming days.
