Isn't that delightful???
I found it in my first issue of "Mary Jane's Farm" magazine.
The Feb./Mar. issue.
.♥.
Me'thinks "Mary Jane" and I will have a nice relationship. :-)
.♥.
The only other magazine I subscribe to, is "Victoria." And I know, at first glance, it's funny to like both of these very different magazines. But....... Not really.... I love "Victoria" for the beauty of photos and the beauty of words, it provides. Nothing terribly modern about either of these magazines. So, all in all, I do believe I can enjoy both.

Update on being able to wear earrings again...
The left *hole* is fine. The right *hole* (the problem *hole*) is not, yet.
So I put the stud back in there, for a while longer. And in the right ear, I wear a little dangly silver snow flake. Yes, I present a unique presence! -gigggles-

Can anyone tell me how to place a (smaller) picture, to the left or to the right of the words in a post? Seems with "Old Editor," one could do that... But now, with "New Editor," I can't. -pout- All I can do is place my pics, smack-dab-in-the-middle. Help! Please and thank you...

Lo and behold... A sprinkling of snow greeted me this morning. Giving everything a pretty covering, like someone shook powdered sugar out of the sky, over night. :-) It's holding on everything, including tree branches and wires, and is very pretty.
BUT!

From an old book by Gladys Taber:
.♥.
.♥.
"January is drama in the season.
Driving against the pane comes the sleet,
and wild is the sound of the wind from the fierce heart of winter.
The sky can be black as anthracite, and the drifts roll under it.
.♥.
In the house, there is a special sense of security.
The house is as tight and snug as a ship.
In the old black kettle swinging from the crane, Cranberry Island stew is simmering. The range glows in the back kitchen, and beans are baking for Saturday-night supper.
A few cockers are dripping on the hearth,
and the cats are asleep
on the hottest radiator."
.♥.
See??????
.♥.
See?????
.♥.
.♥.
That's the way January is supposed to be, in the North East!
Not this mamby-pamby near 40 degrees and gray, gray, gray.
-pout-

I just love your blog ! I always enjoy it and always come away with a sense of peace ( and a few giggles ) Thanks for that (o:
I and my budget are quite enjoying the milder temps and there's nothing to forbid us from imagining that it's cold as Gladys suggests outside. I thought you were going to provide the recipe for Cranberry Island Stew...doesn't that sound delicious?
love hearing what your up to Auntie...
Alas, I am not sure I have the 'New' editor, but on mine there is a little icon that looks like lines (much like what is in a word processing program like 'Word' etc.). On mine it is the 15th icon from the left. If you click on the arrow next to it, it shows other alignments, center, left, right. So, Highlight your picture and then pick one of those. I haven't actually put two together, but I think that will work. As for size, I'm not sure. I usually resize mine before posting just so it won't take forever to upload onto blogger. Hope that helps.
I love every word Gladys Taber wrote! Thanks for the reminder of her work.....I shall find one of her books to read this afternoon!!
Have yourself a lovely Thursday...even if it IS warm!!
Right before you click on Download Photo, change your settings right then...When the download photo box pops up, see Left, Right or Center buttons? Click on either L or R...
Hope your ear lobes get better soon!

Hello dear Auntie, I'm finally back into visiting and commenting and it feels soooo good:-) I got a ton of decluttering done by not being on the computer much! lol
LOVE your Valentine decor in here, so beautiful! Also love the faerie pictures you used in your post today...of course I would! hehe
I've stopped buying so many magazines lately and the only ones I buy now are the Victoria Bliss and Victorian Cottage. Had to cut down because magazine prices are getting ridiculous.
I've never had my ears pierced! My mom had hers pierced but was having so much trouble with infections even though she took good care of her ears/earrings so she let the holes close and never had them pierced again.
We're almost finished with January...woohoo! I always find that the darkest and dullest month of the year, as well as the coldest. We had rain yesterday so it's melted some of the snow...still lots left though.
Have a good my friend:-) xoxo
i am a magazine lover. better homes and gardens, family circle, womans day....i love the crafts and recipes!!
Once I upload a picture to my blog, I click on it and it gives options for size and position and also the option to remove it.
I lost two earrings from two different sets. Now I wear the two different earrings. : )
I like to see if people notice!
This was an absolutely delightful post my friend, and you have gone all lovey-dovey with all these lovely hearts and the beautiful little header card! The little quote about the fairies is wonderful. We should all believe in fairies! Thank you for bringing a smile to my face today. Keep warm over there!
Cranberry Island Stew ? OMYGOODNESS....sounds delicious. Now, I have to google it.:))
Placing your photos left and right works by clicking on the photo after you post it, a window pops up with LEFT, RIGHT CENTER..and etc. Just click on whichever you want and, there ya are. :))
