Imaginative decorating........

 (Source)
Oh my gracious!  I want to jump into that illustration, above.  -happy sigh-  And follow those Faeries to the 'Pixie Dust Tree'.  Oh I do.  I do.  I do.

(Source)
I love all such....  Fey, Pixie dust, Faerie dust, sparkles, fireflies, lace curtains, lace table cloths, sheer white curtains, blowing in a breeze, magical, imaginative, more sparkles, garden paths, deep woods (without mosquitoes), etc., etc., etc.

(Source)
 But ordinary reading of my blog, one might not know it.  MY home decorating, doesn't have aspects, of many of those things. Unlike the lovely blogs, I am showing you pictures from...

(Source)
 And I don't think, that many of my Dear Readers share such likes.  :-)   Yes?  No?  Maybe?  Please tell me...

(Source)
We each have our own tastes.  It's interesting to see how our tastes, match up (or not) with our Dear Readers, though.

(Source)
 Not that I am creative enough, to do much "Magical Decorating" in my own life.  Nope, I'm not.  I love it, in the blogs of others though...  -sigh-  Like in the lovely and magical blogs, from which I borrowed these pic.  With click-able links back to the blogs, of course!

(Source)
So how come I don't try to incorporate more, into my own home?  How come?????  ~~~  Well for one thing, one has to consider the tastes of others, living in our homes.  I'd love more, more, more Faerie Lights...  But 'Uncle A.'s' eyesight, makes them difficult, for him to live with...

(Source)
So I have one string of Faerie Lights, on the mantle.  I'd have more of them, hanging here and there.  But they would bother his eyes.

 So, do I need a separate blog?  Where I could *drool* over such?  :-)  A blog for all-things-Fey-and-shimmering-and-softly-white-and-twinkleing...?  And with the separate blog, go out to find other bloggers, who love such...?

(Source)
Oh sigh...  Separate blogs can get so difficult though...  -pout-

I have one now...  My "Auntie's Reads 2013" blog.  But I simply post reviews on it.  No comments allowed, so I don't have to deal with checking comments for SPAM, etc., all the time.  ~~~  But that (no comments) feels cut off, from Dear Readers...  -sigh-  -pout-
~~~
What to do?  Go for more lace myself?  Even without more Faerie Lights?
~~~

Your ideas??????????

Please?

And thank you...

Where could we...? Where? Where? Where?

I am not saying this, in a complaining way...  Just, that it is interesting...  With the approach of warmer weather, Blogging Visits go down.  :-)  Using "Site Meter," my recent Visits were:

March, '13 --------  2,013
April, '13 ----------  1,846
May, '13 ------------- 1,620
So far in June, '13 -- 1,253

Interesting dropping trend.  Do you find this happening, with your Blog Statistics, too?  Again, NOT COMPLAINING!  Just noticing a trend.  :-)

Hot summer weather has arrived, in my neck of the woods.  As I compose this, we have a really hot day, forecast today/Mon.  90 degrees with T-storms.  Yes, I am glad we have the wall A/C units.  No, I am not happy, with having to live, closed up in the house.

Do I hear whispers of; "Never satisfied..."  -grin-  Yes, it's so true.  So true.

This hot summer weather could make one wish to have a place to travel to...  To escape to, actually.  Well, I don't have any.  We just don't drive far, anymore, due to his eye sight.

But!!!!

I live in "Pretty Blog Land"!  And Dear Bloggers have lovely ways of looking at many things.

"Older But Better" blog has a delightful "place" to visit.  It's a wonderful Virtual Reality place!  Doesn't that sound interesting?  Please click on her blog name above, and go find out about her "Bailey's Cove"...  Betcha' it might inspire some of us, to make one, of our own.  :-)

(Source)

And then, there is "The House In The Roses" blog, where she often shares her delightful imagination, with us.  Taking us places, we'd probably never go, on our own.

Like her "Gitanos" posting.  Which you can visit....  By clicking here......  And by clicking here................  And by clicking here...........  ....Delightful, yes???

Soooooo, where could we go????

Where could you Dear Reader, use your imagination, to travel to?

Either using just imagination, like the Virtual Reality escape?

Or actually making delightful imagination, into reality?

Where?

Where?

Where?

:-)

I'm getting behind, in leaving links here, to the books I've been reading.  By clicking here.....  You can read more about the last "Cozy," which I had fun reading.

3 'Happy's'~~~Thank you~~~"Use it or lose it"~~~

Happy morning Moon...
Happy First of May...
Happy 3rd Birthday, to Gabriel Michael...

Just a silly belly-button picture...  -gigggles-

Just a silly "I covered it up, Nana!" picture.  -more gigggggles-

A pretty alley-view, into a drive-way, up the alley...
Thank you to all the Dear Readers who commented on my post.  Agreeing...  Not agreeing...  Both...  Thankfully, we are still FREE to hold our opinions, and to state our opinions.  It seems very important, to occasionally state our opinions, in order to keep this FREEDOM.  You know what they say:  "Use it or lose it."  I think this applies to more, than just to muscle strength.

I also like to let-it-all-hang-out, now and then...  I like to show that "Auntie" is not just a sweet, little, ol' gal.  (Hehh, I can hear the sniggggering...  When did anyone ever think "Auntie" was just a sweet, little, ol' gal, hu????!!!!???  -chuckle-)  Yeah, well, true...

And perhaps this morning, I have a differing opinion on that "Stop Complaining" manta, too.  Oh I still agree on trying to stop *bitching about* every little (or big) thing that comes-down-the-pike.  Constant whining doesn't help anyone.   But!!!

If we are just mild, quiet, hippity-happy, passive, smiling individuals,  ALL-THE-TIME,......   Isn't that like being drones?  Or serfs?  Or subjects?  Or ....  You fill in the blanks.  There is a time and a place for Passion, and for Strong Views, and for being willing to rock the boat.  "Auntie" sezzzzzzzz....  How about you??????

Duck~~~Diff Pesto~~~"Stop Complaining"~~~

My point here, wasn't about Comments-Per-Say.  It was about having *zillions* more Visits, than Comments.  Which is pretty common around here.  But still "bugs" me a bit.  If people have the time to Visit/Read a blog (even on busy weekends), how come so few Visitors/Readers bother to even leave a tiny Comment?  ~~~~~~~~~   NO  ANSWER, I KNOW.

Duck on pool cover...

I found how to increase the size of how all print, shows up on my computer.  But now, I wonder if my Blog Print is showing up, as tooooooooo big????  In YOUR BLOG?  I know.  We can increase/decrease how blog print looks, on our screens...  But...  I still wonder....?  ~~~~~~~~~   And do you find it easy to increase/decrease all print, when you are on the computer?

We wanted to have Pesto And Pasta on Mon.   But didn't have the fresh stuff, one usually uses for Pesto.  Had Argula, so he made it, with that.  :-)  Interesting different taste.  :-)  He wants to try making Pesto with black olives too, which sounds yummy to me.     ~~~~~~~~~     And somewhere, it suggested putting Pesto on a baked potato.  Yessss!  No need for him to use butter!  :-)  Tonight, one of our 2 weekly fresh fish dinners, with a salad and 1/2 a baked potato, topped with Pesto.

(Pretty little walk-way, up the alley...)

-grin-  I begin this blog entry, by complaining.  And now I add...  STOP  COMPLAINING.  It's one of those "Hey-how-come-I-didn't-think-of-that" sayings!  ,-)

 From Pg. 185 in "Clean" by A. Junger, M.D.

"Stop complaining" ........  I saw with a jolt how any complaint is really the expression of a negative emotion or state.  It gives the complainer a sense of immediate relief, even pleasure.........Complaining is like an exhaust pipe in a car, it lets out the pressure, relieving the complainer in the short term..........this negative energy pollutes your environment and is doubly toxic to the people  who are listening............Most complainers expect you to join them in their complaint. .............The apparent camaraderie that is generated by this interaction gives the one who joins the complainer a sense of immediate pleasure as well."

"...almost without exception, complainers and those who join them later on, when alone, feel depleted, somewhat depressed.  Most never put these two dots together and have no way of ever breaking this cycle of quantum toxicity, both personal and environmental."

Remind me of this, the next time I get *grumpy*!!!  -chuckle-

Doc and meds, finally... And reading... And.......

I'd had my sore throat for 2 weeks.  Sometimes, it got better...  Then back to being very sore.  Doc said I now have a sinus infection, and gave me an Rx for meds.  When the 10-days-of-meds are up, I hope *Gabe's little cold* will be gone, from inside of 'Nana.'  :-)    ~~~   Since I was *officially* sick, we went and got a Spring Wreath, for the front door.  -grin-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And I came home and continued reading "The Shallows."  Another one of those "what-is-the-Net-doing-to-us?" books.  Yes, technology has done wonders, and we aren't going back, to before it.  But in this book, Mr. Carr examines the idea of neuroplasticity—the idea that the brain rewires itself, to adapt to the stimuli, it encounters....  Anyone on the Net, knows that info comes at us, at an alarmingly fast rate.  And that we can become addicted, to checking-for-something-new.
Do we feel as if we have developed ADD?
Is it hard for us to stick to one project, through completion?
Can we sit down and read a book thoroughly, for an hour or more?  (Not 'chick lit.'  I mean a rather deep book, of facts.
Hmmmmmm....  Is it possible that our brains HAVE been adapting, to the fast-fast-fast stimuli of the Net?
If this has happened to us....  What the hell, is it doing to our children?  Do you see children sitting down and reading books, for a period of time?  Do you see them starting, and completing tasks?  Without prompting?
I sat and read that ding-dang-book, full of history of the science of the brain and facts, facts, facts.  TO  PROVE  TO  MYSELF, that my brain hadn't been fried YET, into needing constantly changing bits of information, with graphics, popping at it!!!!!!!!!!!!   ,-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm not snapping pics of our meals now.  (Do I hear a sigh of relief???  -grin-)  But still "casting-about" for photo ops!!!  -grin-  'Uncle A.' made a new wooden puzzle for Gabe, and was painting it.  This was the a paper he used, to mix acrylic paints.  Saw it there...  Thought  *Modern Art*!!!!!   -click-  A picture!!!  -grin-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...  Another *Photo Op,* when one is desperate!!!!   I'll tell what it is, at the bottom of this post.  Can you figure it out, before looking???????????????
"Wondering"... "Did you see...?"
Did you ever hear of a "Happy Gene"?  :-)  Neither had I.  Until a discussion about SAD and etc.  Someone said that she was very upset, after 9/11,  and her doctor gave her some temporary medication.  It helped her.  She got her "Happy Gene" back.  And discontinued the medication.
 (RED socks)
Getting back to the way, in which this time of year  (lingering of Winter),  can really mess-with a lot of people's equilibriums...  I wonder why?  Not the "Little Why's" of...  Needing to see green things growing, or being tired of feeling cold, or wanting to run out the door, without a heavy coat on, or craving the colors of flowers...  And not even the very real aspect of SAD...  I wonder why, in a basic sense, some of us get sooooo tirrrrrrred of lingering Winter?
 (Learning the scales...)
Wayyyyyyyyyyyy back, I'm sure our ancestors had a very real fear of running out of food, at this time of year.  It being too cold to plant yet, and preserved stocks of food, running low.    THAT was a real fear, and could have really upset/worried them.
 ("Make-believe-room", behind the curtain...)
But we don't live, like that.  If we are in Pretty Blog Land, we know we will eat tomorrow.  What doesn't grow yet locally, we buy in the grocery store.  Our homes have heat.  Our vehicles get us from here to there, easily.  Snow doesn't make us house-bound.  Plus, even when we do stay in our homes, we have access to the whole world, via the Net, tv, and etc.  We can "see" the whole world, from our snug home.  But maybe, that's part of "It"?
(Gabe's form of 'Jingle Bells," softly...)
Today, we can't forget, that in some places, flowers are blooming.  We see up-close-and-personal photos/film of loads of blooming flowers and green grass/trees/shrubs, as far as the eye can see.  Somewhere.
If we couldn't seeeeeee all that beauty, would we crave it?  So would our lack of this craving, help us to not be so upset/unhappy with a lingering Winter?
-chuckle-  Running low on blogging ideas.  Could you tell????  -grin-
Did I link to my book blog (Auntie's Reads  3013), concerning "Vampires In The Lemon Grove"?  Well, if not, here is a link....   Please click here....  Thank you.
BLOGGER  WATCH:
Did you happen to visit "BJ" while her blog was switched to a whole different blog look???  It's back to looking like it always does, now.  But yesterday, it was totally weird.  What happened?  If it happened to her, could it happen to us?  Could our blog, all of a sudden, be somehow *changed*?  Eeeeeeeek.  What next, to worry about?????????????
Old post, from 2008
We are moaning and groaning about a Lingering Winter.  I went back a few years, and found this March 28, 2008 blog entry...  Which I copy below...
Me'thinks I 'jumped the gun'...
Tell me! What pray tell, is she looking sad about? Surrounded by lovely flowers, as she is?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here was the neighbor's cat, visiting yesterday. Over to have a drink of water from the bird bath pond. Click on photo and see it larger... to see the little bit of green growing between the rocks...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is what would greet her, today!
And this...
And this...
And this...
Where oh where did you go, Printemps????????????
ADDITION:
I forgot to add the only redeeming feature, to this snow.
There is an old saying, around these parts. "Spring snow is the poor man's manure."
Hope that helps those, with Spring Snow. 'Cause it's the best I can do. >,-)
So this copy of a 5 year old post, goes to show, that this kind of weather is normal, for "my neck of the woods".  And I should realize this!
