♥Masks... Masks... Masks...

Carnival, in Venice!

Extravagant costumes...  With everyone wearing masks...  An opportunity to let go of everything and enjoy life...  Hedonistic.  Yes, delightfully so.  ,-)  It's so intriguing.  ,-)

The masks are soooooooo intriguing.  The mask-face never moves or shows any emotion.  We have no idea what the wearer, is thinking.  So different from real life.  Where we use facial expression, to help interpret words spoken, or un-spoken.

The Venitian Carnaval 2012 is being held under the slogan
"Life is theatre!  It's time to get masked"
(italiano- "La vita e teatro.  Tutti in maschera").
What a delightful possibility!  Live life, as theater, and live it, masked!  Even for a little while!!!

But then again, don't we live so much of our life, masked in some way?  Playing a part, in the Theater of Life...?  The Part which was given to us, by our parents, or our training, or our religion, or our spouce, or the job we have, or the position-in-community into which we have gravitated, etc.?

Come now...  Let's be honest...  How many times do we get to live our life, totally as WE WISH?  Totally without some sort of programing?  Without some sort of fear, of displeasing someone, somewhere, somehow?

Let's have some time, to wear the mask we choose....  Or simply a rather neutral one.  And live incognito, *behind* it...  Just for a little while...   Hmmmmmmmmmmm...?   Just for a little while......?
Just a wee little while...????????

,-)

I think if truth be told, we each have a world in which we'd Love to be in...and live.
But, I think we get what we Asked for....

At one time or another we all wear many different masks as we live our lives.

If ya wanna get "masked", Auntie - now's your chance!

It's Mardi-Gras in N'Awlins right now! Why, east Texas is right next to Louisiana, so there's plenty of Mardi-Gras goin' on here, too!

I'm not into Hedonism, but it's surely a ruckus going on in S. Louisiana now!

the mask are beautiful as are the costumes, the eyes are a little to spooky for me, and yes, everyone at sometime or another wears a mask, even though it is invisible.

How absolutely gorgeous those masks and costumes are! I didn't even realize that Venice had such a carnival. See, blogging makes us learn so many new things:-)

I've always said that we're like puppets on a string, doing and acting what everyone else wants us to do and not what WE want to do. Very much like wearing a mask!!

Happy Mardi Gras dear Auntie:-) xoxo

I find the masks a bit scary!
Yes, I believe we do wear different masks at different times in life.

I think we all wear a mask every now and then. When I am paying all our Social Security out on bills, I would MUCH rather be planning a nice cruise somewhere fun. :)))

Gorgeous masks!

I think the person who blogs has, in a small way, chosen her own mask. But even then the real person shows through - which is probably a good thing.

Holy Mackeral I thought that I was at the wrong blog. Love the fun look for Mardi Gras.

I wish I could wear an incognito mask at times too.

Cheers!

How many times do we get to live our life, totally as we wish...being honest... I'd say never....I know I didn't when I was young...the pass I won't was closed to me and I've never gotten over it. (Parent's)

Oh if this isn't the truth sweetie!!!

We do, we put on our Mama masks, church masks, our social masks...funny creatures aren't we???

I've been known to shock a few every now and again. Sometimes I'll bring an adult in from Adult Church when I'm short handed and they're surprised that I'm this whole other person for Kid's Church.

Great post beautiful lady.

God bless ya and have an amazin' day!!! :o)
