Kinda' sad this morning. Getting off line last night, I found the news that Gary Carter had died. So young... So sad...
I didn't know he has been fighting cancer for a while... But not knowing he was sick, the news just blind-sided me.
Because of becoming a fan of his, I got to really enjoy a couple of seasons of baseball. Something I never did, before or since.
He was a great player. A really nice guy. An asset to the sport. NOT one of the jerks-of-sports. A great player and person. He will be missed.
Rest in peace, Gary...

I remember the name, but not much more. These things do affect us, especially when they come out of the blue.
Are you sitting under threats of snow or are you in the pink?
sorry to hear this, i am not a sports watcher, so don't recognize the name, but i know people who do know are sad.
As an avid Met fan, it was heartbreaking to hear the news. I knew it would be coming, though, but it still saddens me so. Heard on the Mets grapevine awhile ago.

I have heard his name but not a baseball fan.
Still, it is sad.
He will be missed around here. Gary was a really nice guy to everyone he met.
So, so sad. # of my sons were and are Mets fans and they truly liked Gary. He will be missed.
