Weather~~~Words~~~Meaning~~~Moods~~~Music~~~

Gabe and Daddy...  "Making" faces, sitting together, at edge of the pool...

 -chuckle-  Just noticed that the above picture, should have been rotated.  :-)  Oh well...

Gabe (3 years) seems to have discovered a "new" mood, and how to "display" it.   SAD...

"Pop" ran out of cookies, in his work-shop stash of Cookies.  Now this isn't earth-shaking.  But seems as if Gabe latched onto this fact, and became SAD

Here is another example, of Gabe, showing SADNESS.  He would come in, stand there, just look SAD...  :-)  I DID NOT just tell him; "Oh you don't have to be sad."

Children have a right to "own" their feelings/emotions.  I don't like to tell kids, they *should not* be/feel this, or be/feel that.  I told him it was OK to feel SAD, sometimes.

"Nana" is a great believer in watching what one says to small kids.  At least, I try to be.  Think before one speaks, etc.  "Listen" to the message, we are REALLY sending, to a child.

Our understanding of words, and their understanding of them, differ greatly...  Especially when very young.  Care-givers need to keep this in mind.  In my humble opinion.

Another steamy weekend...  On Sunday, we had A/C on inside.  I went out to take pics of family, in the pool.  My camera lens got fogged up.

Cold camera + hot outside = steam-effect.

This picture, shows how our weather pattern has been going.  Sun - Rain - Sun - Rain - Sun - Rain.  When the rain is heavy, it knocks the flowers down.  -sigh-
Ever  start reading a book, and decide you can't really read all of it?  But you have to know "what's going on"  and "what happens"?  So you keep skimming ahead, until you have answered those 2 questions?

Hope so....  Because then, you can comprehend what I did, with "Room."    If you are intrigued, and want to know more about this book...  You can click on the click-able link....  "Room" .

Actually, this book, is an excellent example of what I said above....   That small children's understanding of "words," depends on what they have so-far-learned, in their short life-time.

Happy New Moon!  Or Happy Dark Of The Moon!

Tonight is what is referred to as the New Moon.  A New Moon occurs when the moon is positioned between earth and sun.  The entire illuminated portion of the moon, is on the back side, the half of the moon, that we cannot see.

Remember the old song...  Which goes like...  "No moon at all, it's so dark, ..."  :-)

Click here, to hear Nat King Cole sing it...

Oh, oh...

Oh, oh...  I think it's finally happening...

The *long-ness* of this Season, is setting in...

Dull...  Dull...  Dull...  Dull........................  The world outside my windows, looks dull, dull, dull, dull, dull, dull, dull.........

-sigh-

Look at those colors...    Dull, dark, flat, not uplifting...

Hardly any color, to speak of.

Color!!!!!!   That's what I need!!!!   Color!!!!

Bright splashes of color.....

I can't paint the trees or the bushes...   But I suppose I could paint lots of color, on paper.........

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then again.......   What reason do I have, to be made sort-of-depressed, by the dullness of the late Season of Winter???  That is such a small *discomfort,* compared to all the possible endless real discomforts, in life.  So I should be put-out-at-myself, for even allowing my mood to be made sort-of-depressed, even for a small amount of time.
So there!!!!!!!!!!!!
Photos, from past years... And Wonderings...
Yes, I'm posting photos, from past years...
Haven't gotten down street to take this year's pics of toy store "Geewilikers," this year.  So, I use some, from another year past.
I do my decorations a bit differently, each year.    I really like the effect of the Faerie Lights here, from another Christmas Time.  But it is getting harder and harder to get Faerie Lights, in a soft white.  The new ones we have, are very bright white.  Even if they look-like-muted, before you buy them.
More 'Geewilikers' windows...  A past year...
The clock is ticking along now.  We continue on through the darkest part of the entire year.  Thursday will be the Eve Of Yule.  And Yule will be on Friday.   Only then, on the Winter Solstice, will the days begin ever-so-slowly to lengthen.  And Darkness's hold on the Earth, will begin to wane.
This is what I was really looking for!!!  Going through winter posts, in old blogs...  Pics of SNOW!!!!  -sigh-
I have heard the term 'Crisis Energy,' for the first time this year.  "This time of year has a crisis energy to it and people react to that whether they believe in it or not. It’s almost funny, you know? People are at the mercy of energy they don’t believe in, probably in large part because they won’t accept that it’s real and take measures to control their reaction."
And with the sad, horrible events we have been experiencing, both in my area (a terrible car crash killing and injuring young people) , and nationally......    I certainly wonder if there really is a form of 'Crisis Energy,' happening in the world, at this Time of Darkness.   And most of us are completely unaware of it...  And thus, unable to deal with it...
 Sorry to "go-all-dark-and-deep" on you.  So here is something else from the past.  "Auntie" in a "Mrs. Santa" bonnet.  ,-)
♥ "How To Banish a Bad Mood 101"... ,-)
This is the second sighting.  Last was on the campus, right across from our house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Our beautiful Tuberous Begonias have finally *had it.*  -sigh-  It's time to move the Mums out back, to this spot on the "stoop."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another beeeeeeeeautiful weekend!!!  Sat. we went to the library, Farmers' Market, and got in a "walk."  Which even included a climb back up a set of stairs in the parking lot!  -chuckle-  Why no pics of this????  Because my camera had just picked that time to quit, when we were ready to go out the door, and I didn't take the time, to replace batteries.
~~
But I did so, after we came home!  And could take a pic of my delicious salad and G/F Pizza, at "The Factory."   This  is my favorite of places to go out to get a bite to eat!  Cool ambiance.  I love their G/F Pizza and Uncle A. likes the wide selection of foods he can eat.  Plus, it's a nice little drive over to a neighboring village.   And speaking of ambiance...
~~
This is a mantle at "The Facory", decorated for the Season.  LOVE those little orange Faerie Lights!!!
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnd.........   ,-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I gotta' love an old place, which sticks an old beer sign, like this above, up on a big, beautiful old mirror!!!  This (mirror pictured above) is a bit to the right, of the (above pictured) mantle.  You can see another big old mirror, mirrored in this one.  This place is soooooooooooooooo cooooooool.  ,-))))))
~~
Welllllll, thankfully, I got through the "New Moon"!!!!!!  Yikes!  "New Moons" are replacing my former "effect" worries about the "Full Moon Effects."  The "New Moon," which came last night, had a kind of a foreboding feeling about it, when coming.  Then yesterday, even though it was a beeeeeeeutiful day, an old song by Eddie Money kept playing over and over and over again, in my mind.  One of those, which conjure up bitter-sweet memories.  And with yesterday's "New Moon," it kept making me *sad.*  -pout-
~~
So.....   I'd had enough of this inner moaning and groaning.   I made myself a nice cup of decaf.  Put a "GOODLY" splash of Jack Daniels in it.  Sat down with my first edition of
 "No Easy Day" and immersed myself,  into the life of a Navy SEAL.
 ~~
I *worship* these guys.  No blasphemy intended, by saying that.  Anyone with a brain knows, how I mean, that I *worship* them.   It fascinates me (and I've read of them before) to imagine becoming that physically/mentally fit, and maintaining it, for years.  Never "getting off the train."  And of course, their equipment fascinates me.  And by 'equipment', I do not refer to boots, night vision goggles, ya' know!!!  -grin-
~~
  Oooooops!  Get your mind up out of the gutter Gals, I do NOT mean "THAT" kind of equipment, either.  -chuckle-   Think 'sights' and 'triggers'....
~~
Wellllllll I'll tell ya', nothing like a cup of warm decaf with Jack, a book about SEALS and a nice early Autumn evening, to banish any "bug-a-boos" from the "New Moon," and old Eddie Money's song in my head.  -chuckle-

We gotta' know how to grab-ourselves-by-the-boot-straps-and-pull-our-selves-up
out of a crappy
mood.

Auntie sezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...!!!

♥ My heart goes out to...

 ~~~~~~~~~~
My heart goes out to all the people in "Pretty Blog Land,"
who are suffering under terrible weather conditions.
May the fires be extinguished...
May the excessive rains cease...
May all the threats-of-bad-weather, no longer plague...
♥ Trust? Gone?
CAN NOT COMMENT IN BLOGS TODAY
CHANCES ARE YOU ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM
-SIGHHHHHH-
A wee, bitty rant...  Concerning photography...  And progress...
Once upon a time, when I was young actually, if a person looked at a photo, they could believe that what they saw was an accurate representation of what the photographer saw, looking into his camera.  In other words, as close to the truth, as was possible.
Not so, anymore.  Not so, for a long time.  Not so for any, any, any photo, which anyone sees today.  Or in the future.  We and our children have lost the right to trust photography.  And when such trust is lost, it seems to be a big deal, to me.
(Source
When I was a kid, and looked at a photo of Lincoln or Queen Victoria, I could know it was an accurate representation.  No more.  No present day photo HAS to be accurate.  No photo from the past, HAS to be accurate.  That's sad.
I understand and accept that many people get a great deal of innocent enjoyment, out of all the ways to Photoshop.  And I don't begrudge them, this enjoyment.
On the other hand, If Something Can Be Done, It Will Be Done.  And so, when this whole Photoshopping ability came into being, it removed confidence of truth, from all photography.
♥Sadly.....
Sadly,
I have had to put Comment Verification back on.
Because I keep waking up to finding
WEIRD DISTURBING comments, left on my blog.
Not SPAM.
This person seems to have a (very specific) blog.
But the messages she comments, are so disturbing that I do not want to access it.
"Off the wall" comments...
Yishhhhhhhhhhh....
So, I am forced to put Comment Verification Setting on.
And apologize to those Dear Readers who do not, not, not like it.
♡Thanks to "The Kid," for the memories...
Kinda' sad this morning.  Getting off line last night, I found the news that Gary Carter had died.  So young...  So sad...
I didn't know he has been fighting cancer for a while...  But not knowing he was sick, the news just blind-sided me.
Because of becoming a fan of his, I got to really enjoy a couple of seasons of baseball.  Something I never did, before or since.
He was a great player.  A really nice guy.  An asset to the sport.  NOT one of the jerks-of-sports.  A great player and person.   He will be missed.
Rest in peace, Gary...
