And this illustration of them..... Oh just precious...

This weekend is "Uncle A.'s" Rotary Club's annual "Home and Garden Show." Perfect weather for the Home Show... Damp, snow covered, the barometer is falling... -grin- It's PURFECT weather, because no one wants to stay home and tidy up the yard. Or do lots of Spring-out-door-things. But they do want to go somewhere and see lots of neat things. ,-)

So, they say; "Hey, let's go to the Home Show!"

Mmmmmmm, well now. The gal above doesn't look all that demure,
even if she is wearing a Sun-Bonnet. -chuckle- She looks like she has a secret,
and it's not all that *sweet.* -grin- Makes you wonder; "WHAT is her secret?????" ,-)

If only we looked so cute, while doing house work!!!

Haven't been hearing too much in Pretty Blog Land, about Spring House Cleaning, as yet. Oh yes, some are into it... Or talking about it.

Soooooooooooo, do you get the urge to do Spring House Cleaning? Were you brought up with the idea that you HAD TO DO Spring House Cleaning? If so, do you still do it, because you were brought up that way? Or because you really love how it feels, when it's done? Or.... Don't you do a formal Spring House Cleaning, at all? Just clean some windows, maybe... Or the like?
♥ ♥ ♥
I admit, I fall more in the last category. I don't just *HAVE TO DO* it. But a nice Spring day can foster the desire to clean windows... -chuckle-

Guess I'm one of those (not-so-diligent) women, who think that just making myself get to the weekly cleaning, is a hard enough struggle. LOL.

Out here in West Texas, where the winds and sand blow ALL SPRING LONG, we do the cleaning AFTER those dust storms. Does no good to do it before. I love taking down blinds and washing them in the tub and hanging them back, all clean and sparkly. I have only one room that has curtains and they are the thin white panels...quick drying. I am trying to get rid of those. Would love plantation shutters on those two windows. *sigh
Would love them all over the house...but Social Security says "HECK, NO, WOMAN." :))
The thought bubble on that gal's head says: He wants me to go to the Home Show? Right...
Cute little bonneted folks running about today. Are they your housekeeping elves? No, I do not do spring cleaning per se nor autumn cleaning. I try to keep things tidy and going along tickety-boo so that I don't have to do all that intensive labor, but some days, like today, make me twitchy to do some cleaing.
I like the quote and assume that it means one shouldn't have to keep up appearances, though I would do it if I were the only one to see it because I like neat and tidy. Not that things can't get pretty crazy, just that I'd far prefer neat and tidy.
"Neat" and "tidy" seem to be the operative words today! Sometimes my comments are so uninspired. Forgive me please...
Sun bonnets are indeed adorable and as for official spring cleaning, no I don't do anything like that officially, though when the weather truly does get warm for a bit here, I love to open up the windows and air out the house and I might clean the windows then. More likely though, on the warmest early spring days, I'm drawn to be out in the yard (which is what I favor most), cleaning up the gardens and getting ready for yard planning.
It is cold and dreary here today, though it's supposed to be in the 60s again by next Wednesday. I'll take cold and dreary over severe storms though.
Hope you have a nice weekend. I don't check blogs every day, so sometimes I have to get caught up.

Love Sunbonnet kids. Have a quilt almost finished with a little girl smelling a flower. Done all in pastels.
No at this stage of life I decided housekeeping isn't first on my list I would rather be out digging in the dirt.
What is that saying ... something about boring women have clean houses?
MY favorite spring cleaning is getting outside and cleaning up flower beds, porches, windows - whatever needs to be done outside to make it look beautiful! Inside cleaning can wait til gray rainy days for me. I gotta be outside when the weather's nice!
Those little Bonnet Babies are sweet, but it sure would be hard to clean or do anything else with such BIG bonnets - like a horse with blinders on! But they're still very cute!
Hah, I love all those photos of bonnets...made me want to break out in song; 'everything's better, with blue bonnet on it!'
We had a home show here last weekend and didn't go because well, it's dangerous when we do my husband tells me...but darlin' what do you mean?
Hi Auntie!
What precious little sun bonnets - and yes, I agree that "lady", looks like she is up to something . . . you know what they say though, " . . .smile, it make people wonder what you're up to... ;0)" All those cute little ladies remind me of Strawberry Shortcake dolls!
I like to do a little Spring cleaning, but I usually have to wait until summer. We have really windy springs, and I live in the country, so my house gets full of dust! Same in the Fall - I usually wait until spud harvest is over or the grain is cut to do any deep cleaning. I'm kind of laid back when it comes to keeping things immaculate - I think a little dirt is good for the soul.... :0)
Have a great week-end!
Hugs,
Barb
Love the bonnets.
I don't do a spring cleaning in the spring but whenever I get the urge to do a good cleaning on a room I do. I have to be in the mood so the time of year doesn't mean anything to me.
If I'm not in the mood I just don't do a good enough job!
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I LOVE your blog. I'll be back when I have time to browse.

I love sunbonnets. Especially ones done on a quilt. As for spring cleaning my mom always did that and fall cleaning. It involved moving around a lot of furniture. Don't think that she does that but she does clean all the time still. I failed to inherit that gene.
