♥ This & that... And a HOORAY!!!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Mmmmmmmmmmmm...

The HOORAY,

in my Subject Line,

is for the FRINGE news.

~~~
To repeat, the HOORAY, in my Subject Line, is for the FRINGE news!!!!!!!!!!!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
A bit ago, I was complaining about how my weight stays the same, no matter what I do.  When I watch what I eat...  Or when I don't bother to do so...   It says the same.
~
Wellllll, I began this past week at 164.  And end it today (Sat.) at 160.   I watched what I ate, this week and it made a difference.
~
Now..........  Is this lost fat?  No!  Every time we begin a different way of eating, no matter what 'Name' we give to our 'New' eating plan, we lose some weight.  Every time!
~
Logic tells us that it's not true loss of pounds.  But the LOWER numbers on the scale, perk us up!  Make us feel empowered!  Make us feel that we-can-do-this!  So in this way, they are good.
~
But, if we return to our former way of living/eating...  Eat mindlessly again...  Those pounds come back on, and maybe more.  Over and over.  Over and over.  If anyone has repeatedly tried to lose weight, they know this, in their heart-of-hearts.
~
Ever try fooling the body?  With 6 days of being careful, and one day of eating more?  I used to do this, years ago, and it worked then.  'Course, I'm a lot older now, so who knows now?  It's worth a try anyway.  :-)
I've read 2 of the "Ruth Galloway Mysteries" now...
and...
Have 2 more, to go.  Needless to say, I'm enjoying them!
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I also read "Trick or Treat Murder" by Leslie Meier, one of the "Lucy Stone Mysteries."  "Lucy" lives in an fictional old Maine village, and the series is said to be kind of a 'younger Jessica Fletcher' type of cozy.  Setting...  An old village (Tinker's Cove) in Maine...  But instead of 'older Jessica,' there is young married/mother Lucy...
~
There are lots and lots of books in this series, and I wanted to like it.  And thus have many, yet to read.  Well, I did and I didn't like this one.  But I'll try another, before leaving the Series.
~
Lucy and her husband already have 4 children, in this book, so I'm not trying to read-them-in-order.  Which I usually try to do.  But I think it will be fine, with this kind of a cozy.
Have returned to an old *friend,* with "Busy Body" by M. C. Beaton.  "Agatha Raisin"!!!  A long running series, which I read some of, in the past.  'Agatha' is a hoot, and she lives in one of those perfect little English villages, which lots of us, would love to visit (or move to).  :-)
~
This book is typically "Our Agatha"!  For those who know her, that's enough!  :-)
~
Dear Reader, what are you reading, please?
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Know those "Theme Days," in blogging?  'Blue Monday'  'Red Thursday'  'Wordless Wednesday'   'Funny Friday'  Etc.,  etc., etc.  Welllllll, I've found one, to top them all!  -giggles-  Give A Frock Friday...
 -chuckle-
Good for YOU!!! We try to eat healthy. I seldom weigh anymore because it doesn't seem to make any difference! For years I exercised every day. Now I do yoga and walk. Not everyday. Somedays I am WORKING (Yard work and other 'labor' jobs!) so I think that counts as 'exercise.'
Happy Saturday to YOU!!
I need some of your willpower. At least I am not gaining, but I am not losing either.
Congratulations on the weight loss! As a Lifetime Weight Watcher, I consider any loss to be a good loss! I am finding it more of a challenge to maintain at goal weight the past few months. Perhaps my already slow metabolism is slowing even more!:( I just take one day at a time.:)
Just beginning to read a book from the UMW reading list - I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced by Delphine Minoui. Nujood Ali was the first child bride in Yemen to win a divorce. Although this is my 3rd book this year from the Reading List, I am a little behind my usual schedule.:(
I hope you are enjoying your Saturday!
Healthy eating is always good for us but as you said that first weight loss isn't really much of a weight loss but it does often give us a good feeling and make us want to continue with eating better.
Ohhhh, the dreaded weight issue. :)
I trained for a 10k the first quarter of this year and lost 6 pounds. Now that the race is over, well...
I'm holding on to my thinness, but it's challenging. I still have 3 ice cream loving children in the house. :)
Books: I just finished reading "The Hunger Games," and saw the movie with my daughter yesterday.
Kids were so into this book and series, and then my kids read them super fast, too. I was curious and read it. I'd heard many adults say that it is just as entertaining to us, and it was. Maybe I'll read the next in the series.
I have to host my book club in 6 weeks. Any recommendations?
Congrats on losing those pounds! It's hard to do as I well know. My doctor told me that I needed to get more exercise, so I'm trying to walk more. Good luck to us as we try to be healthier!
Any time we are eating more healthy, weight loss or not, deserves a high-five.
Congrats on the 6 lbs lost. That is goood for only a week. Wow.
6 pounds is a lot for one week. Not wanting to burst your bubble most of it is probably water. For you to have lost 6 pounds you would have had to eaten 21,000 less calories than you normally do.
Each pound of weight equals 3500 calories.
