TV Review:
"With stronger-than-expected performances, a consistent tone, and enough backstabs and double crosses to make the ladies of Wysteria Lane roll their eyes, “Dallas” is better than ever."
Since I like this first review of "Dallas," which I have read, I'm not going to bother looking for any more reviews. I know enough to quit while I'm ahead. ,-))))
And I nearly lost-it, when the opening music/visuals came on! Wheeeeeee... I turned the volume up all the way, to drink it in. -grin- Love-that-music...!
But!!!!!!!!!!
One complaint....... Why is it necessary to (try to) make "Sue Ellen" still (try to) be a "babe"?
"JR" and "Bobby" are allowed to age. But not poor "Sue Ellen." She is still supposed to slink around, being......... *Hot*. Phullleeeeeze. Truthfully, her close-ups were uncomfortable for me to watch.
OK! It's your turn! :-) If you are an old fan of 'Dallas,' and watched the return of 'Dallas'....
What-duh-you-think???

no commments since I have never seen Dallas before. back when it was on TV the first time it was on past my bedtime, so never watched it.
Like you, that music sent me back to another time and place. It then took me a few minutes to get my bearings on the new Dallas crew. But, in the long run, I fell in love with the show. Even hubby, who is not a soap opera type of guy, loved it. So many twists and turns. Can't wait til next week.

I didn't watch the first one.
I tried to watch the one last night but just didn't like it. We turned it off and watched some more of the Wild China DVD.
Watching it right now (recorded it). There is always trepidation when something is 'repeated' but so far, so good! I like it!!!
I have as many questions as opinions. :D What happened to Pam? And Cliff Barnes? Maybe they were mentioned and I missed it, because I tuned in late. I'm not sure I'm liking the actor who plays John Ross. Where are all the 'manly' actors these days? I don't watch much tv these days, but had to tune in and check out the new Dallas. I'd have to say I prefer the old show so far. And, I'm with you on the Sue Ellen vamping it up...ugh.
Your header roses are beautiful!
I'm not sure if I liked it or not...may have to watch again to decide...I miss Pam...
Never watched Dallas. I won't be watching it this time. I'm just not a television fan.
The opening music was the BEST!! I turned my volume up too!!
JR was scary looking but I enjoyed the program! We had a bad storm and lost part of it but recorded it again later.
Everyone has aged fairly gracefully I think!
I was a huge fan of Dallas but didn't watch the first new one.
Doubt that I will...in my older age, I've decided I don't care for night time soap operas...or day ones, either. :)
Have fun with it..and probably if I ever happen to watch just one, I'll get hooked again. :))
If I typed a comment it would sound exactly like your second comment above. My sentiments exactly. At first it made me a bit sad to see J.R. looking so old. No matter his age I wish they would groom his eyebrows! Sorry to be catty, but it's what I thought every time I saw him. Other than that... enjoyed it very much.
You make a good point regarding Sue Ellen. I guess it's that age old double standard.
I watched Dallas before and I really liked it :) I can't believe that Sue Ellen and JR are still on there. I haven't seen the new Dallas, yet, but it looks interesting.

It must have been interesting to see the stars of yesteryear grow up with us.
I don't think I watched Dallas regularly but I did watch it, at times. I have a feeling that the naughtiness of the program is mild compared to what is on today.
