Last evening, "Uncle A." was given his Rotary Club's
"Lifetime Achievement Award."

It was presented to him, by one of our sons, who is also a Rotarian.
At the annual Rotary Installation Dinner.
"Uncle A." did not know he was going to receive this Award!
He thought the whole family (children and spouses) was in attendance, because our son was going to receive some sort of an Award. -grin-
Not until our son got up to the podium, and began reading off the lifetime "for-community" achievements of the recipient, did "Uncle A." start to recognize......... That HE had done all those things, being read by our son. :-)))))))) And HE was going to be the recipient.
It was lovely...
During dinner, one of our daughter's-in-law was texting to the Italian girl who had lived with them,
as Foreign Exchange Student. K. was then, in NYC, getting ready to board the plane to take her home... After the year in the US.
Someone said... "Let's take a picture of us all gathered here, and send it to her, via cell phone." And someone did take our pic. And Tracey sent it to K. And could also send it to the rest of us. That was a lovely inspiration, which resulted in a pic of everyone, all together.

A great big congratulations to Uncle A, what a wonderful commemoration of his service to your community. I am so glad you had a chance to get an 'adult only' family photo. That doesn't happen very often.... what a good looking bunch, and bet, because they were taught by example, they are community minded as well. Kudos to a great family!!!

Oh, I love surprises! Congratulations to Uncle for the award for his service to the community!! What an honor and I'm sure it meant a lot for all his family to be there with him. You have a great looking family, Auntie. What a wonderful evening for all of you!
