♥ "Violets of March" & coming Full Moon

"The Violets Of March"

by Sarah Jio

Yet another delightful and absorbing book.

"A mesmerizing debut with an idyllic setting and intriguing dual story line,
The Violets of March announces Sarah Jio as a writer to watch."

Please read a review .....here......

Again let me say.....  I talk about books I have enjoyed, because I love to read book suggestions, on other blogs.  And expect that other blog readers, enjoy seeing them too.  But just because I LOVE A BOOK, I do not suggest that YOU must.  We are very individual.  And I even enjoy different types of books, at different times.

No one has to read my suggestions.

But if you do, and you enjoy a book also, I'd love to hear that, from you.  :-)

The Full Strawberry Moon
is June 4th, Monday.

June's Full Strawberry Moon got its name (in the US) because the Algonquin tribes knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit.  ~~  It was often known as the Full Rose Moon in Europe (where strawberries aren't native).

 Silver
Slowly, silently, now the moon
Walks the night in her silver shoon;
This way, and that, she peers, and sees
Silver fruit upon silver trees;
One by one the casements catch
Her beams beneath the silvery thatch;
Couched in his kennel, like a log,
With paws of silver sleeps the dog;
From their shadowy coat the white breasts peep
Of doves in a silver-feathered sleep;
A harvest mouse goes scampering by,
With silver claws, and silver eye;
And moveless fish in the water gleam,
By silver reeds in a silver stream.

I don't read books but I still always enjoy your review on the ones you read:-) I was an avid book reader at one time and I remember well how gratifying it was to find a book that held your full attention the whole way through.

I'd never heard of June's full moon being called "Strawberry Moon"...see, I learn something new every day:-) I was at the garden the other day and noticed that our strawberry plants are all in bloom so in another couple of weeks we should have strawberries to pick and eat!! Yummm!

Cold and rainy here today...time to snuggle under the blankets and watch a good movie:-) xoxo

I love that poem by de la Mar. Forgot the full moon is approaching. We're also going to experience an eclipse of Venus and the Sun this Tuesday. Nest one will be in 2117.

We won't be catching the Strawberry Moon this month...rain until Thursday or so they say. I just turned the furnace on I was so cold...temps in the low 60s. I'm telling myself that it is a wet spring and that summer will be fine. Yup. That's what I tell myself.

The ivy looks wonderful and reminds me that that was what I was going to plant for the trellises. Something that doesn't care about too much sun.

Oh I love to read about a book someone has enjoyed or even one someone has not. Don't let my questions concern you!

I just noticed tonight how full the moon was getting and when I stepped inside, I glanced at the calendar and saw that Monday was the day!

I really like your ivy background. Very nice!

And, I'm taking note of your book recommendations for later when I'll have more time to read. I think that's what I've been missing lately...reading a good book!
