I actually got going Monday morning, and made a couple of things! That above is my version of G/F Sugar Cookie Bar "Pie". ,-) It's a good mix of G/F Ch. Chip Cookie mix, with the ch. chips removed. And some walnuts added. That *white* top looks WEIRD, I know. But it's just some granular sugar sprinkled on top, before baking. I know! It looks more like cement. -chuckle-

Let's see if this shot, looks any better....
Nope... ,-)
Anyway, I hate to bake in summer, even with the A/C. I just can't get-in-the-mood. (All you real bakers out there, stop shaking your heads. I admit, I'm not a real baker!) Used to have one grocery store, which carried GOOOOD G/F Sugar Cookies. I loved them. But all of a sudden, I can't find them anywhere. Her Cinnamon Sugar cookies and her Ch. Chip cookies are available. Cinnamon doesn't sit well with me. I can't eat Chocolate Chips. I loved the plain Sugar cookies.
Gone.............
I had no choice but to make my own. I get really sick-and-tired of not having a sweet treat. -pout- Like Sun. evening... Family had Ice Cream Birthday Cake for one of the "Grands." I had my plain water bottle, by my side.
I'm not really *bitching* that much. It's my choice. Don't eat ice cream, because of Lactose Intolerance. Don't eat any normal desserts, because they are full of Sat/Fats. 3 years ago, I avoided a massive heart attack, by having 3 stents put in. I am determined to TRY, to not clog 'em up again. Even though I know, it won't work forever.

OK, my poor regular Dear Readers, you so wish I'd stop telling that (stenting) story, don't you? I know. I know. But who knows? There might be a new Dear Reader here, who has never heard it before. :-)
I also made "Uncle A." a Banana Bread, but it's still in oven, as I type this, ahead of time. :-)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I get tired of listening to the lawn mower/grass blower/etc., etc., etc., constantly taking care of the large yard at the big summer house, adjacent to here. (We call it 'Secretariat's House, because years ago, it was owned by "Penny" Chenery Tweedy, the owner of 'Secretariat'.) It's owned by some other horse trainer now, and The Lawn Care Co. takes care of that place "like little children." ,-) I'm tired of machine noise. So I put ambiance music on CD player. Sometimes it's Forest Sounds, which is mainly bird song. Sometimes it's waves, waves, waves. Sometimes it's this kind above, a combo of gentle music and waves. Mmmmmm... Blots out the ding-dang machine noise.
Last evening we watched "Midnight in Paris" dvd, which I found in my library. Charming... So very, very charming... Have you seen it, Dear Reader? So different from the usual Woody Allen films. ~~~ Don't get me wrong. I have enjoyed Woody Allen films. I'm just saying that this is a Woody Allen film, for those people, who don't even like Woody Allen films. :-))))
It was especially interesting to watch rain-fall-in-Paris, being sentimentalized. We spent 8 lovely days in Paris, way back in 1999, and didn't encounter rain. On a Sun. morning, there was a tremendous t-storm, but we weren't out in it. It had stopped, by the time we went out to church. (-grin- Yes, way-back-then, I was still going to mass on Sun.) Other than that, the weather was sunny and almost too warm for Spring.

i loved midnight in paris! such an interesting and unusual movie. one good thing about living in the city is that most people do nothing with their yards so i rarely get yard noises!
Your baked goods look simply delicious. It's still too hot to bake here. I don't remember the movie 'Midnight in Paris' although I am sure I must have seen it, but I do remember the perfume. My grandma didn't care much for makeup and other lady products, but she loved her Midnight in Paris.

I love your header...such beautiful colors...It is hard sometimes when you give up the deserts...but there are alot of better options out there...
I don't bake much either but that Cookie pie looks great!
Never got to Paris...Went to Germany and Switzerland, Luxemburg...but no France...:o(

The recipe sounds delicious. Although I don't need to, I often eat gluten free, and I honestly can't tell the difference!
Peace,

You always make me smile - truly like one of my own Aunts talking:)
That GF cookie looks yummy to another gluten free eater!
Enjoy!

The sugar cookie pie looks marvelous, all encrusted with sugar as it should be! I keep picturing it topped with yummy fresh strawberries. =)
I think the sugar cookie pie looks very tasty! I get a hankering for something sweet once in a while, too. Hadn't read about your stents, that was a surprise to me. You seem to be doing well now with watching your diet? Take care of yourself!
Yay - the comments are turned on! We loved "Midnight in Paris" - one of Woody Allen's best, I thought. The fiancee and her smarmy professor pal were so wonderfully annoying - and the extra characters were fantastic. "Dali! I am Dali!" Not to mention Hemingway talking just like one of his books. :)
The sugar cookie pie looks pretty tasty to me ... how about a photo of one wedge of it, topped with dairy-free ice cream? There are some pretty good coconut-based ones out there. (I'm lactose-intolerant too - I let myself have "real" ice cream once a month and still I sometimes regret it.)
A leetle butter won't hurt you - it's actually a healthy fat when taken in moderation. (Have you read "Healthy Fats"? Some very surprising info on butter in that book.)
Your flowers are beautiful.
the giant home baked cookie looks good to me, but then i would eat dirt if you sprinled sugar on or in it. i love sugar cookies to, our Walmart has delish ones, but i pass them by except for one or two times a year.
I think your baked goodie looks delicious.
No, I haven't seen Midnight in Paris but I really like Woody Allen films. I'll have to watch it.
Last night on the news they spotlighted a restaurant (I think it was in Baltimore) and everything they served was gluten free and right away I thought of you. : )
Count me as one who doesn't always appreciate Woody Allen movies. Now you have me intrigued. Oh, I can't be a real baker either for so many reasons. =D
Boy does that cookie look good...especially enlarged. It must have been scary having stents put in...:( I have not seen Midnight In Paris but you are the third person to mention it recently so I just may see if I can rent it. Enjoy your cookie Pie..:)
Your baking looks wonderful. Keep on telling the story of your stents. I think more people need to take the possibility of a heart attack more seriously. My husband also is functioning and alive because he finally told me about his physical complaints and I took him to the hospital where we learned he was 95% blocked in his LAD.
I'm so glad you are doing well. Take care.
