(One of "Uncle A.'s" Old Roses, called 'Joseph's Coat of Many Colors')
Are you Dear Reader, noticing the look of rambling abundance in Nature now? Yes, the weeds are growing with abandon, and it's sort-of-too-late to worry much about them. And after all, they ARE green. ,-) The grape vines are almost bursting with growth. All vines are bursting with growth! Good thing I oped for the "Sleeping Beauty's Castle Look," around the pool fence, this season! -grin-
After the first *withdrawal symptoms,* from not being able to see into neighbor's front yard and down the street.... I'm used to it now. True, I can't see OUT, because of all the growth in the way. But in the same way, no one can see IN. Not even early in the morning, when I'm sitting here at my computer, in nightie/bathrobe. ,-)

(The yellow Four O'Clocks, which don't seem to be doing as well, as the red ones have...)
Do you get *zillions* of ro-bo-calls? The kind of call, which doesn't leave a message on your message machine... So they aren't a friend. The kind which just play a recording into your message machine, which you don't want to listen to, of course... In other words, not from people you know. And not from people who have anything really to do with you. -sigh-
That's about all we get, on our land line. So we keep our answering machine set to just 2 rings. Family members know, we will call back. People who actually have something to do with us, will leave a message on our answering machine.
Ugh, to all those *zillions* of ro-bo-calls. Are they all over? Do you Dear Reader, get them too? How do you handle them, please?

I apologize for these pics. They are not clear enough. But I wanted to show another example of our society today. And its "bait-and-switch" mentality, in packaging.
When I opened the above bottle, I was amazed at the lack of amount of contents.
Can you see down inside? Freshly opened bottle... Contents wayyyyyyyy downnnnnnn in bottle. So looking at and buying bottle, it appears to be a nicely full amount. Not so. It's mostly empty space, filled with cotton, and the pills are down toward the bottom.
Perhaps a bottle, just large enough to accomodate that amount of pills, would be too small for hands to grasp easily? ????? But, no one ever asks, do they? We simply accept the "same-size-packaging" with "less-cereal-in-the box" kind of mentality.
Not to mention, the added plastic packaging, which has to be collected and recycled...

Not earth-shaking... Just a possible blogging topic... :-)

I love your pics, as I do each time I come to your blog. I feel the same way about packaging....seems like everything we get has TONS of packaging and very little inside :(
I adore Joseph's Coat roses; what a wonderful way to get a bit of privacy!
Have you signed up for the National Do Not Call list? It should cut down the robo calls quite a bit.
Well that's the worst bottle I've ever seen...maybe it should have been a reject. True, everything is way down in the bottle these days. You ask some interesting questions about the reasons why.
Yes, the weeds are taking over. I am still trying, though. Just before the big rains hit yesterday, I was out there bent low over the flower bed tugging away. The Japanese beetles are particularly offensive this year.
Hope that both you and Uncle are on the mend and feeling better. It's not easy to have cold and flu-like symptoms in the heat of summer.
We have some lovely weeds this year, too!
I become annoyed at packaging, also. I bought some M&Ms for my grandie, that were in individual packages inside. Each package only held 6-8 candies! That's fine since I don't want him having too much, but think of the numbers here!
Peace,
Muff
I was just complaining this morning about the onslaught of ro-bo-calls we have been getting lately. I am on the no call listing and they still get through. I also am sick of political surveys. I love your four O'Clocks...it brings back memories of my child hood yard.I have not seen them in awhile. I can relate to the medicine bottles being half empty...strange.:) There has not been much color in my view this year either. :(
I buy TWO bottles of whatever - and combine them making ONE full botttle!!
No robo calls here! NO land line!
I have been so busy lately....taking a tea break and decided to visit you. You are on my 'Favorites' on my desktop so I don't even have to go to blogger!!
Hopefully I will do my last post of the camper this evening....AFTER LD hitches it up and it is sitting in FRONT of the house all ready to go!!!
Yes, deceit with packaging is becoming worse each and every day, all over the world. Honesty like modesty is quickly vanishing. Very sad indeed.
We are thinking of taking out the land line. just use our cells. My son has done this and it's working great for them. With 3 daughters at home, now people just call their cells and it works great.
It's easy to do without a land line now that we are on wireless for computers...:)
O, and I didn't see a header here...??
I have our number on the Do Not Call list and we still get bothered by calls, too. Irksome!
One of my biggest complaints lately has been how we get less and pay more for many products. You know, fewer ounces but higher price. I don't know why they package things the way they do, either, as in your bottle not even half full. I've seen that, too.
Uncle A's rose is beautiful! Looks like you've had good weather for the flowers this summer.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
