Cosmos pictured, look kind of pretty. And they are, looked at individually. But in actuality, they are mostly just long, leafy stems. Suppose we didn't plant them in the best way. They are from seed, in a pot, but if there had been more of them, in a flower bed..... They could maybe have made a fuller looking display.

Here is a spent one on the left. And still flowering, on the right. Why this pic? Just because I can, I guess. :-)

Now here is a more-the-way-it-really-is photo. Some flowers up there, on top. With lots and lots of long, leafy, green.... With a backdrop of all the greenery of along the pool fence. Yes Folks, I went for the "Sleeping Beauty's Castle Look" this Summer!!!!!!!! ,-)
And since I have *survived,* without my "beloved" view of next-door-and-down-the-street... Well, I can probably continue to *survive* without it. And after all, with winter, lots of the leaves will wither and die and there will be more view, even with the overgrowth. :-)

(Above... To me... Delightful...)
Guess it's rather "official." I can not, not, not open the house up. Even though the weather has gotten much more lovely and seasonal. The kind of Aug. weather we are famous for, I mean. Breeze... Temps not too hot... Sun... Lovely... Can hear the breeze tinkling the wind chimes outside the patio door... -happy sigh-
But!!!!!!! We came home from an errand around 5:30pm yesterday, and it was sooo nice out. I opened up. And in no time, *blossomed-forth* with allergy symptoms. Bleaaaaaaah... So, had to close up again. Today, I will be more regimented with the taking of my allergy meds. Can't really go back to the doc and complain.... If I have not been following his suggestions, now can I? Nope. -sigh-

(Jungle... In the city...)
My deep and mysterious jungle... Nope! Hardly! ,-) Just close-up of ferns out front.
They are becoming a wee bit bedraggled, as are lots of growing things...... Can you feel Autumn in the air? Can you see her touches, here and there? Early though they be. She is coming....

I love your flowers and ferns. Sorry your allergies are still acting up. I hope your meds help. And yes, keeping things closed up helps, but I know in our climate, we only get window opening weather for a short period of time...take care
As usual, beautiful photos. One day I'll get myself a decent camera. Sorry to hear your allergies are acting up. I know how miserable they can make you feel. Take care and hopefully your meds will help you to feel better soon.

love the ferns and the 3rd up from bottom, those lacy fringed leaves are beautiful. we have the same problem with allergies when the weather is nice. so our house only gets opened up a few times a year
O, my...I do love that fern.
Sorry about the allergies...Mr. Sweet and I don't have allergies to speak of.
O, wait...I DO have an allergy to dentist.:)
Knock wood, my allergies have not acted up this summer. We, too, are getting a slight respite from the oppressive heat, albeit with rain. Love the photos!
Peace,
Muff
Hi there. I actually love Cosmos, and have a lot of them in the garden, although I have never grown them from seed, so well done you! I have your colour, plus white, plus the paler pink ones. They usually flower for a long time, which is always good. I'm so sorry to hear about your allergy problems. I can certainly relate to you on that one ! :(
I love cosmos. Such a pretty flower.
Sorry you have to deal with your allergies.
I don't feel fall in the air - at least not today. It is 97 hot and muggy.
Thanks so much for your kind comments about my photography. I laugh sometimes because I'll pass people with their cameras trying to get everything just right. I stop take a quick picture and continue on. : )
Take care of those allergies! There can be complications sometimes, you know!
I enjoy a green jungle...
Yes, I noticed just this morning that the sumac is already turning crimson. I can't imagine why...just the shorter days I guess.
