♥ Is it immature, to........? ,-)

(Source)

I'm still having fun, with paying attention to Autumn.  Halloween is still front-and-center.  And it will remain so, for a bit after the holiday even.
~~~
But as November settles in, I'll begin to want to celebrate Thanksgiving Time.  November will be time to celebrate *Cozy Time.*  Making home to be a warm and welcoming retreat, etc.
~~~
And then, after Thanksgiving is over, I'll want to put up some Christmas decorations.  Play Yule Time cd's.  Etc.
~~~
In other words, my inner self seems to follow the turning of the Wheel Of The Year...  And make me in-the-mood, for whatever Season is upon us.  I can't rush it though.  When it feels right, I change my surroundings.  But not until!  :-)  And this is probably a very individual thing.  We all get the urge to decorate differently, according to our own "inner clocks."  Yes?  No?  Maybe?
After you read a book, which you particularly enjoyed, do you go to the author's web site and/or blog?  I do.  I found the blog of O.R. Melling,  the author of "The Chronicles of Faerie" series.  And left a comment.  And she was kind enough, to come to my blog, and leave a comment.  How lovely is that?!?  I was very surprised, and very pleased.  :-)
If I've had something sweet...  I want something salty, to follow it.  If I've had something salty...  I want something sweet, to follow it.  And after dinner, I have to have something sweet.  Not a dessert, per say.  Never have dessert.  Just a couple of Jordan Almonds will do-the-trick.  How funny is the way our minds work.  Because that *craving* for a bit of sweet after dinner, is not true hunger or appetite.  It has to be "in-my-head".  :-)
(The red leaves on this tree...  Gone now......  But not forgotten....)
"Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen night and shorten day
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree."
~Emily Bronte
Do you Dear Reader, have a favorite blog?  I mean, a blog on which everything makes you droool?  :-)  The Background...  The pictures...  The size of the pictures...  The picture subjects...  The words...  The lovely, warm, homey, cozy, pretty effect of the whole blog?  -happy sigh-  I DO!  But I'm not gonna' "spill the beans."  Not gonna' tell you, which blog it is.  :-))))  I love so many bloggers, that it would not-be-very-nice to single out ONE, and point to it, as *My Ideal.*  :-)
~~~
But I do have one!  And I do look to it, for suggestions, on how I'd like my blog to come-across.
~~~
Now I suppose, that's pretty juvenile.  Kinda' like a teenager, trying to model herself on some teen idol singer, or some such.  -sigh-  But!  But!  But!  Isn't it mature, to see something lovely, and want to emulate it?  Isn't that what bloggers do, when they see a picture of some home decoration, and love it, and try to kind-of replicate it, in their own home?  And that's not looked on as immature.
 ~~~
Do I sound as if I have made-my-case?  -grin-  That I'm not displaying immature actions, to love to TRY to make my blog look like my *Idol's* blog?  -grinnnnnnnnn-

Perhaps you could feature *some* of your favourite blogs....

I enjoy every blog I follow for one reason or another but there are some which make me catch my breath; whether it be the beautiful photography, the quality of the writing, their creativity or sheer goodness of heart. Each one makes me perk up when I see they've posted.

Nope, it isn't immature, it's how we learn to improve ourselves, by following good examples.

Unfortunately here in the city, Thanksgiving has somewhat been forgotten. Oh, of course we celebrate, but as before Halloween is over, shelves are cleared for Christmas items. As a matter of fact, last Saturday when I went to Rite Aid, Halloween things had been relegated to a small corner and Christmas items being moved out. What happened to the Thanksgiving items?

i wish that house that is not your house was my house but down here in Florida.
i don't decorate for holidays, i used to at Christmas, but for the past 6 years i just decorate my nook where my glass animals live with a tiny tree. my mother was like you are, she decorated for every season/holiday.
i have about 10 favorite blogs and i love all the blogs i follow. i love photography and some of mine i follow because their photos touch my heart, others the person that post the blog touches my heart. most of all i love photos that show other parts of the world i will never see. and i love the blogs of what i call REAL photographers, i consider my self a snapshot shooter and i get ideas for photos to take.

As far as I know "imitation is still the sincerest form of flattery." ☺

To answer your question, no, I do not have a single favorite blog. I am too eclectic in my own being to come in for such a hard landing. I like many different styles and many different ways of writing.

I always say it's a compliment when someone tries to emulate someone else:-) I don't think it's immature at all...if it is, then I'm immature too! lol I love so many blogs, I'm not sure if I could pick just one as a favourite but I know what you mean about feeling so at home and loving everything about a blog.

Oh yes, I'm like you when it comes to craving a sweet and then wanting something salty! I swear it can go on all night!! lol

That house you posted a picture of is just gorgeous! xoxo

Whenever I "follow" a blog, it becomes one of my "favorites" :) I am very eclectic in just about everything I do and so are the blogs that I follow...so I could never choose just one favorite.

I do the same thing with "sweet & salty". It's a never ending circle with me :)

I always enjoy your wonderful photos and thoughts, Auntie...this is why I enjoy my visits here so much~~~

Hi Auntie

Did you ever have chocolate covered potato chips - perfect combo of both worlds!

I've never been to a website or blog of an author - just never thought to I suppose.

I'm reading a new series that I think you might enjoy. I'll let you know after I finish the first book.

I am going to jump joyfully into Thanksgiving preparation this year. We've decided to remove our home from market, if it does not sell, just before Thanksgiving. It will be listed 4 months at that time. Driving thirty minutes to see the kids doesn't seem so daunting after all. Having our home for sale has not been a pleasure.:-)

We are having a glorious Fall. Even with the drought, we have had wonderful color.

As for a favorite blog. No, I don't have a favorite. I like lots of them and tend to skip around with my visits.

I do well to keep my blog going with a tweak here and there. I don't tend to change much once it is set..no blog envy:-). I hope BPM says who I am and the mission of my little blog.

One is able to determine things about the author of blogs. I am drawn more to that than the way the blog is designed. The inner spirit I sense as I read and follow is what interests me most.

My mother always, ALWAYS served something sweet...even if it was just bread, butter and jelly. She always said dessert started with the French and something sweet aided digestion. Now, if that is true or not, I've believed it all my life and not about to change now...so we always have something sweet, too.:))

Loved this good post...and your photos are awesome.

OOO, I meant to tell you...
you were talking about seeing how many lurkers you had on a certain post and how small the comments were...I had never paid any attention but after you said that, I started looking...on one of my post..get THIS...I had 5,095 views and only 40 comments. I was SHOCKED. I thought most people were commenting when they read me. Well, I guess not. :))

I have many favorite blogs. Blogs that are too slick and commercial are not my cup of tea. Some blogs I like for their written content, photos, home decor, gardening, or even to see what they found thrifting. I like seeing a little slice of the writer's life. I keep track of a few blogs because I would like to visit the place where the blogger is. Mexico, Scotland, Australia.
I, too, am slow about moving on to the next holiday. I just got all of my Halloween stuff out, and there is only a week before it's time to move on. I have a few Thanksgiving decorations and I usually leave them out until the second week of December. I don't like to extend winter any longer than necessary.
I had never checked my blog stats until after reading about it here. I was surprised to learn I had viewers in Russia and Singapore--practicing reading English? Or midwesterners missing home. I don't know.

Hi Auntie, I enjoy your blog whatever you do to it. You look very 'fetching' in your hat :D
Yes I like to go to blogs or websites of the authors of books I've enjoyed as well, even if it's just to see what else they have written.
We only celebrate halloween in a very small way here, but we usually have some treats on hand in case any of the kids come around. When I was a kid, many moons ago, we celebrated Guy Fawkes Day on 5th November. In the evening we would take a 'guy' down to the beach and burn him on a big bonfire and let off fireworks. Half the town would be down there with each family group having it's own bonfire - it must have been quite a sight to see it from the sea. Usually it was the boys who made the 'guy' and they would take them around the neighbourhood on a trolley shouting 'penny for the guy, penny for the guy' and hopefully getting some pennies.
Enjoy your celebrations.

I enjoy all the blogs I visit and as a new blogger gleaned many ideas from them but I eventually just let my blog become what it is...what ever that is. LOL.

Favorite Blog....mmm Depends on the day I'm reading I guess. I have so many I follow and I love them all for different reasons. There's just too many to just choose one.

You have a Happy Halloween!
