Fuzzy effect on the above pic... Goes with the fuzzy effect, in which I find my blogging life.
Years ago, I blogged with both Pretty Stuff and Personal Views. That did not go over well. Most ladies seem to want only "Pretty," in the blogs they read. When/if my personal views start to seep in, those "Only Pretty Please Readers" go elsewhere.
But!!! This only matters, if I care. It only matters if my blogging is for the purpose, of amassing loads and loads of Followers. If I answer "No" to either/both of those things, then I am free to blog as I wish. I can "Blog Pretty" and "Blog Real" all at the same time. :-)
Then there is the issue of On or Off Comment Setting.... Lots of Readers, including myself, usually like to be able to leave Comments. Then again, there is the *Duty* of returning comments. Which can add a lot of time to one's Blogging Life.
Plus, right now, I have enough trouble with figuring out how-to-post here. I can't figure out how-to-write-comments elsewhere, right now.
I do still enjoy taking photos. And blogging gives me a place to put my photos. For that reason alone, continuing to blog (in some form) is good, for my trying to maintain sanity, after the election.
It's too easy to dwell on the horrors which will come, from empowering the changing of our Beloved Country, into a Socialist one.
I need the distraction of taking photos...

I have the same problem sometimes...there are things I need to say but don't want to cause any problems...but then I decided...the ones that like me will understand if we have differnent ideas...and will return...the ones that don't....won't come back...I'm not in blogging for a popularity contest...I do it...because I like to take photos...I like to tell stories..and this is a good place for me to do both....even if I only have a handful of comments or followers..it will be something for my family to see...to understand the person I am...Let's face it we all have pretty days...and nots so pretty days..
I love your blog Auntie...you are honest..and don't sugar coat things..but you don't go out of your way to offend anyone...
i agree with deb! i don't care about how many people follow me. i don't rant often because i think it is boring. once in a while i say what's on my mind and people can take it or leave it. i blog because i enjoy it. when it is no longer fun i will stop. btw...i would kill to have your bittersweet vine! i have tried to grow them over the years and can never get one to grow. they are invasive in some areas and mine just never take off. i love to use them in decorating and to make wreathes!
I have considered removing my followers button, some people don't have them, if some one wants to follow they will boomark you, thats what I do with the ones that don't have followers lists.
when my blog crashed I had over four hundred followers, I lost everything, this time around I have never really thought a bout it at all, I blog for quality of the experience, not quantity in numbers, I enjoy your blog, you tell it like it is,
Oh good! You've found a way to work through it. Like most bloggers, you have to ask yourself every now and again why you blog. Once that is established... and it seems as if you're going to make it pretty AND say what you feel...it's all good after that (especially if the comments or the followers are not an issue for you). As one of your readers, I am very glad.
Yay!! I totally agree about being able to do both, blog about pretty things and saying how we feel when we need to. I'm not here to amass a huge following, either. I'm grateful for the ones I have and love their comments. I'm grateful for so many interesting blogs like yours to read and see beautiful photos. It helps brighten up my days. Thanks!
I for one am glad you are back. I've really missed you.
I've decided to just post on my picture blog for a while. Something I said on my blog really upset someone who is now not even talking to me and it hurts deeply.
Yet I am still a happyone : )
You have a healthy way of looking at it! We would miss you......glad you're staying. Deb said it all very well. Ditto!!
i blog for 3 reasons.
1. a place to share my photos with others since being the only one to see them is NO FUN.
2. because i love to create and write, but am no where near good enough to be published
3. to have fun and meet people i like and would like to meet someday.
and so far it has worked for me.
i love your photo and that pumpkin in it and the photos yesterday i forgot to say when commenting how much i liked them.
I do what i like to do, and when people come i am happy, but if they don't i am still happy.
Hey Auntie - I still say it's YOUR blog and you can do whatever you want to with it! I like "pretty" but I like "personal", too. I kinda of gravitate towards my interests like gardening, critters and other outdoor stuff, but I like any blog that is personal and I feel like I'm getting to know that person. And I like blogs that are funny and that go against the grain a bit (you). So hang in there Auntie - we'd miss you if you disappeared! By the way, you haven't posted any pics of little Gabe in a bit... (I like those baby pics, too!)
Hello dear Auntie:-) After being away for a few days, I'm now back home and visiting my dear online friends again!!
I'm so sorry to hear that the elections didn't go the way you were hoping they would but that should have nothing to do with friendship...if "friends" turn away just because you have different political views than them, then it's their loss! That's the beauty of having a blog, you make it your own and post what you want on it and what makes you happy. Don't worry about what anyone else thinks. Your true friends will keep coming to your blog:-) I don't care what religion or political party anyone believes in...that's everyone's prerogative and I have no problem with that:-) So, blog real and/or pretty, it's YOUR blog!!!! xoxo
Oh yes, as for my blog - I just sorta do what I want, too!
Ditto to all of the above.
Say what you want to say! And keep taking photos. :)
I would be sad to see your blog go. As a city girl, I vicariously live the country life through you and your blog.
Mary
Don't change blogs again - I just found you! lol I agree it has been hard to blog this week - I am trying to gather up my thoughts! Sandie
I love your blog...if I didn't I would not be here. I look at all the people who visit me as friends. I miss them when they do not blog, worry about them if they are going through a crisis...laugh with them and cry with them and I always learn from them. Blogging helps me stay connected to the world around me...I love it. :) Keep on keeping on...you have a great blog.
I like that you keep it real sweet friend. I love coming here - it give me pause to think sometimes.
I'm hoping that our dear Vee is doing well and will come back.
Enjoy your weekend!
Leann
I always enjoy your pictures and writing. I like seeing all of the different views that people have in their blogs. Having differing opinions keeps things interesting. Kind of like seasoning in the food for thought.
First and foremost, my blog is mine. I design it the way I want, and it changes in it's design and it's content as I change - constantly. This is the way of the world, and of people - we all change and grow and those of us who do this while worrying about the opinions of others will not grow or change, but pretend to be whatever someone else wants them to be. Be yourself, in life, in blogging - you're wonderful, and I enjoy blogs that are what they are, that are fluid and beautiful, sometimes angry and ugly, sometimes hysterical and sometimes just a place to put things when you can't hold onto them anymore.
I'm glad you're here.
Well, I sure stirred the pot with my "We're Screwed" post. I respect everyones opinion but, boy, let me get off PRETTY...and voice MY opinion, my comment section turns into a battleground. I was just STUNNED at what ONE reader wrote...and she didn't stay with ONE comment..no sire, she had to get back into it several times. I am a firm believer in standing up for what I think but, after some thought, took my post down...NOT DELETED...because....well....
because I am not sure I want my grands to read it...but, then again....maybe they SHOULD. Loosing 6 followers didn't bother me. Followers are like real-life friends...if they can't be respectful of my opinions, even tho they differ from their own, I am probably better off without them. I always honor their opinions but I see now that everyone isn't that way. I am still stunned over it all. Mr. Sweet says I am waaay too trusting....maybe so. He says that everyone doesn't think as I do about certain things. I am sad....
My heart isn't into blogging right now...going to take a break for awhile.....
