...tired of autumn colors...

I just realized...  I'm tired of Autumn Colors...  Imagine that?  :-)  Guess The Wheel Of The Year is turning for/in me.  I'm ready to put beloved Autumn away, and find different colors.  Hmmm...  What colors, for this in-be-tween time?  It's not quite Christmas-Colors-Time.  But it is tree-branches-bare-of-leaves-against-the sky-Time...

Bare branches...  Against a twilight sky...

It's leaves, frosted in the morning Time...

But these things, look kind of sad.  I don't want a sad blog look!!!!!!!!

Look what I found!  An answer to my...  I'm tired of Autumn Colors mood.  -grin-  A bit drastic but......   It is a thought!   From: "Savoring An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving"* (The asterisk  * means, the link is below) at Sugar Pie Farmhouse.

Basically, she says that Thanksgiving is near.  And proceeds to tell her Dear Readers, that she spent all week finishing up her Christmas decorating.  !!!!  Really!!!  :-)  And she goes on to make a nice case, for doing it this way.  Says she used to wait till day after Thanksgiving.  Butt...  She discovered she likes an early start.

Thus they are able to enjoy all the glistening goodness, a little longer.....  :-)  Like I said above, the link to this post, is below.  Next to the *.

What'cha' think?  Is anyone (other than 'October Farm'... That is!) ready to decorate for Christmas???

When all the leaves are off the boughs,
and nuts and apples gathered in,
And cornstalks waiting for the cows,
And pumpkins safe in barn and bin,
Then Mother says, "My children dear,
The fields are brown, the autumn flies;
Thanksgiving Day is very near,
And we must make thanksgiving pies!"

hahahaha..the shame of early decorating!!! i hate to say it but i am sort of liking it! it is such a relief to look at the front and check one thing off my list. plus i like looking at it. this might become a new tradition!

What another darling look here and I adore the header...you're positively inspired lately. Perhaps you should go into the blog design business!

Oh dear. I hate to confess, but it's true. I did do a wee bit of Christmas decorating the day before yesterday. Just a titch...I put the antique ornaments from my great-grandparents' tree in the apothecary jar.

However, I never tire of autumn colors and they could be a part of my decor all year through. Truly, I'm a child of the 70s, I guess.

It's funny I am just getting into the fall spirit and a lot of people have already moved on to Christmas... I never do Christmas until after Thanksgiving

Fall ran away in New York. I am excited about Thanksgiving and will be out to get my cranberries today.

I always like to look up at a pretty blue sky and you can do that any season. : )

No, no Christmas decorations for me yet. I wait until December. I really don't do a lot anyway. I don't decorate much for any holiday or season.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Oooo, love the header!

Call me weird, but one of the things that makes Xmas decorating so special to me is the brevity of the season...so decorations never go up before the 15th of December and always come down on New Year's day.

The fact that we have three cats and three dogs doesn't have *anything* to do with that. Nope, not much.

I don't even think about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. It is a big holiday for my family that we so enjoy.
I usually put up our tree the day after Christmas and hang all the stockings. Other than that, a pretty Christmas centerpiece for the dining table and we are done. :)
hugs, bj

I love bare trees against the sky, and frosty leaves too ... not sad at all!

Christmas seems to come in such a tearing hurry now that I don't decorate as early as I used to. Last year I didn't put anything up until two weeks before the day - but then I keep the decorations up as long as I can because I love them so much.
