So, I guess, one could call this the DARKEST PART, of the DARKEST PART OF THE YEAR. It won't be till after the Solstice, that the days begin to get longer. Begin to... Just begin to... There is still plenty of darkness left, in our Winter.
Do you Dear Reader, react in any way, to this Darkest Part Of The Year?

i usually get tired when it gets dark. so lots of yawning. feel sad for the folks who go to work in dark & come home in the dark. so they really never see the sun during these months. that is just terrible. feel like their works need to give them a bit to walk outside & enjoy some sun ... get coffee. smoke. whatever ... just get outdoors. seems only fair. i like pics of all sorts ... blurry or not ... ( :
that must be me you are referring to!!! hahaha!!! i love darkness. it gives me energy. i can't stand sunshine though it seems that is all we have anymore. i blame it on my scottish and welsh roots. i love gloomy rainy weather. i could live in a cave!
Blurry is good sometimes...it looks very good here.
I am glad for the holiday lights and am happy when they start going on at dusk. We have not yet strung our outside lights and I think that today is THE DAY. John thinks that next year is THE DAY. That's just ridiculous! People enjoy the lights and it adds some cheer to the chill.
I like the light far better. I like the soft focus pics. :)
i like the photos you did today, blurry is good sometimes. and light/dark effects me big time. if the sun doesn't shine i am not happy. I love cozy nights with candle light, but only at night. i feel depressed if it is drizzling and dark out during daytime hours. i could not live in Alaska, where they have months of night or in a place like Seattle or UK where it rains a lot. but it is a good thing there are people who love dark and rain and people who like sunshine are all gazillion of us would try to live in one place.
Gray, rainy, dark days are my absolute favorite, Auntie. I should have been a mole. :))
I love adverse weather, too. Winter is my favorite time of the year and we haven't had any yet. Hope it gets colder and snowy before too long.
I love drizzling and dark with a passion. :))
I'm one of those strange folk that likes the shorter days this time of year. It makes it feel more "Christmas-y" to me :)
The longer, darker days are really not my cup of tea, but a long stretch of hot, sunshiney days without rain for weeks on end like we had this summer gets very old, too. I just like a happy medium!
I liked your blurry pics, its fun to experiment, isn't it?
I'm a sunshine person don't do we'll with darkness
My eyes did just fine with your photos. They are always lovely to me. I look forward to your next installment!
Hugs,
J.
The dark doesn't bother me all that much but I do prefer the sun and light. I guess it's a good thing Christmas comes at this time of year!!
I have lots of the little lights all over the house and keep them on all day long.
At night when I go to sleep I have to have it pitch dark!!! I don't the dark at night - but I really like to know the sun is shining in the day time.

Don't like the short dark days at all. I need sunshine to function well. In the winter, I wrap up in a blanket and go sit in the sunshine, close my eyes against the sun, and let its warmth wash over me. It restores me!
I remember the December we spent in Scotland with Amber and Mike! It was PITCH DARK at 2:30 in the afternoon!! I remember it being December 21st - Winter Solstice! And yes, the dark affected Amber a lot. Me? Not so much!!
When it is too dark and wet and dreary, I can really feel it. I have to work at not letting it get me down in the dumps. I have every light in the house on by 5:00pm. At the beginning of a stretch of dark, damp days it feels kind of cozy, but after a while, I am over it.
