Bringing back an Annual Floral Parade... :-)

Old photo...  Isn't that the sweetest thing???  An old picture, from an earlier "Floral Parade."  For our 150th Ann. of Racing (this Season), we are resurrecting the "Floral Parade."  :-)  The First was held in 1894, and continued for years, until it got tooooo big, according to reports.  :-)

 According to an official program, the Third Annual Floral Parade, consisted of "magnificently decorated private equipages," over 2 thousand bicycles decorated with flowers, and "the famous Olympic Bicycle Band on wheels."  Whooo-hooooo...  That must have been fun.

 Certainly hope our resurrected one, will be pretty and fun too.  It ends with an Ice Cream Social in the Park.  Ice Cream donated by a local company.  :-)

And back to the present...  3 "Grands" over, to have "Pop" fix their bikes...

Still trying to get my picture size, big enough.  But not too big....

"Grands" showing us, some ripe wee, little tomatoes.

According to comments, my blog is now *working* for some, who had problems before.  Not so, for others.  -sigh-

Please keep telling me, of problems you have, with accessing and reading my blog.  With luck, all will smooth out eventually.  I'll keep this setting of only 1 entry showing...  And keep working on the pic size issue.  Keeping them nice-and-big, but not too-big.  :-)

A view~~~~From ground level~~~~

Just look at these photos, Folks!!!  See those spikes of grass, right in front of your nose, it looks like???

See those Violets, right-up-close-and-personal???  See how you are "looking up," at everything else, in the photo?

If you were the size of a Violet, you could crawl right under the fence, and into the yard next door...

Soooooo, it's obvious that the camera was nearly on ground level....  Right?  Right?   Soooooo, did "Ole Auntie" really lie down in the back yard, and take these ground-level pics?  Like she is jealous of others, who CAN do this?  Did she?   ~~~~~~~~~~     And more importantly,  if she did, did she ever get back up again??????????????  ,-))))

*Actually* I didn't lie down on the ground.  I held my camera, nearly at ground level and snapped.  ~~~~~  Yeah, I still can't lie-on-ground and take pics, like you Youngins can.  But I'll tell ya!!!!!   Just doing all that bending down low and getting back up again, was an ACCOMPLISHMENT, in itself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ,-)

The pic above, was just taken in the regular way.

What's that old saying.....  Something like...

"The young are agile,
but the old are sneaky."

No, that's not the perfect wording of the saying, but it will do, for now.  :-)))))))))))))

Yet another Blogging Warning... -sigh- ADDITION

"Ten Things" at "Knitsofacto" blog

"A scandal ... Google's redesigned image search, which is making a mockery of copyright. Anyone can now download your images without once visiting your site, thus bypassing the security measures you might have in place, such as copyright notices or disabled right click. And we're not talking thumbnails here, the only limit on the size of these 'stolen' pics is the size of the file you originally uploaded. My advice is to set a limit of 600 x 600 or so pixels, max, and to use discreet watermarks, because if you don't your work is up for grabs"..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I long ago decided that the photos I put on the World Wide Net, have *Open Season* printed on them.  Nasty people can even remove water marks, so why bother with them?
~~~~~~

I don't sell my photography.  I don't post recognizable pics of Grands.  Except when they are wee ones, and after they grow up.  Knowing that all/any photos I put on the World Wide Net, can be confiscated.  And PhotoShopped, and used for what ever HORRIBLE PURPOSE, weird people want.

~~~~~~
Do you ever consider this?  When putting your family pictures, on your blog?  No little "Please Don't Take" button, on your Sidebar, will STOP the BAD GUYS.
ADDITION:
Please read 3rd comment down.  Where Annie @ knitsofacto said...   About how Google's new system is stealing people's blog traffic.
Do you love "commas"?
-sigh-  I tried painting a new Background.  But I am not happy with it.  Harrrrumph...  So I won't know what Background is on here, till I Publish this post, I guess.   ~~~~~~~~~~~    Meaning, perhaps I'll put up my very childish flowers...  And perhaps I won't...
 I think I need to take a lot more time, with trying to do a water color, for Background.  Not a rush job.  But I was trying to paint and take a pic, while the sun was still streaming in the Hearth Room window.  So I could get a photo, of it.  NOT  the way to do it.
  Oh well, perhaps I'll just leave my blog look, a simple WHITE one, for a bit...  Maybe...  Maybe...  Or just grab a Net pic, which I have already made into a Background.   -sigh-   ~~~~~~~~~~~      I liked the Valentine one, I did.  It was very primitive, but I still liked it.   Wonder how long it will be, before I REALLY LIKE another one...?  -pout-
Do you Dear Reader, notice how many "commas" I use, in my writing?  (See? 2 commas in those preceding 13 words!)   I LOVE  commas!  I like to break up my words, into little "this-is-about-this-and-that-is-about that" sections.  Not the proper way to sayyyyyyy it, I'm sure.  HELP!  A Dear Reader who is a teacher of English, please tell me the proper wording....
And since you are an Expert, what is your take on frequent use of commas??????????  Please and thank you.
*Warning*! Deep thinking, enclosed. :-)
See those "sort-of-X's-of-light", mid photo?  They were not out in the snow.  Since I took this photo, through window glass, and "into" the sun, I guess those (sort-of-X's-of-light) are an effect of sun, on the window glass.  Cool effect!  :-)
And it happened three times.  So naturally, I had to post all 3 pics!  "Surprise Photo Op" kind-of...  Never, never, never pass up such!!!!!!!!  :-)
I am not scientific.  Don't have any bend-that-way.  So thank you to "Ellen In Oregon," for explaining, why candles seem to *eat smoke.*  :-)
I have another *wonder.*  And don't know how to prove it, scientifically.
But......................................
On Earth...
Every living thing, is made-up-of-and-from other things, which have been living....   In other words, no cow eats some plastic, along with her feed, and incorporates that plastic, into her calf, growing within her.............    Nor do any other animals, do so........   Nor do human mothers incorporate random pieces of plastic, into their gestating fetus.............
Living things, are made up, from other living things, which have died.
Sooooooooooooooooo...  If one holds that each human, has a unique 'soul' or 'life force' or whatever one wants to call it.....  Then it can truly be said, that no other human being, was ever exactly like each of us are, as to our unique 'soul' or 'life force'....
BUT  THE  BODY!!!
Every ding-dang body, is made up of previously living stuff.  Bodies are made up of constantly reused stuff-of-earth.  So NO  BODY  can be believed to be totally UNIQUE.  Our body (and bodies of other living things) are made up of the Earth stuff, which was here in the beginning....  And is used, over and over and over again....  Earth stuff, being used to birth living things, which live and die and decompose back into the Earth, and are then used, by coming generations.
The Original Form of Recycling!!!!!!
YES????????
Gabe was telling us about ducks, which he learned from a book.  Complete with arm movements, to show how ducks flap their wings, when they fly.  I asked him for another demonstration, and I got this.  ,-)
This Header pic will soon be gone, because Valentine's Day will come and go.  And I LIKE it.  So I'm "keeping" it, by posting it.  :-)  It was one example, of the effect which I try for, a lot.  And don't usually accomplish it.  Up-close-is-clear...  Distance-is-fuzzy...  Particularly wonderful, for capturing *fuzzy* faerie lights...  :-)
We are not the same person this year as last;
nor are those we love.
changing,
continue to love a changed person."
Guess what???
Guess what?????????  It's snowing again.
Not sure how well it can be seen falling, outside the kitchen window.  But falling, it is!
I'm really enjoying re-reading William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition."  Loving following  'Cayce Pollard' (pronounce 'Cayce' as 'CASE') around the world, again.  Loving her minimalism.  And most probably "getting" more of the plot, than at the first reading.      A friend told me about this book years ago.  Read it.  Have never forgotten certain snips, of the plot.       It is so super, when one is really, really enjoying reading a book.  :-)
Only a couple of more days, till Valentine's Day.  :-)  Hope you are ready, if you do/plan anything for it.          Nothing here.  I can't eat chocolate.  And fresh flowers in the house, bother my allergies.  ,-)
One photo, of tea light reflections, in kitchen window.
And another...  I'm not sure which one I prefer, so I posted both.  :-)
The "story behind" the tea lights is kind of funny.   When "Uncle A." cooks a nice piece of beef, on top of the stove in the old iron frying pan........   Smoke usually happens.    And if we don't dooooooooo something, the smoke alarm at the top of the stairs, goes off!   With noise to wake the dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Eeeeeek!!!  So when smoke appears, we close both kitchen doors, to contain it.  Open windows/doors.  (Yes, in Winter!)  And I light tea lights!!!!    I have no idea how, but candles seem to dissipate smoke.
And so, I never pass up a Photo Op!!!  :-)
than to put it into words."
