Finished it! Great book! Loved it!!! A proper Brit Cozy Mystery!!! :-) Set in a darling English village too! And I want to read more in the Series. Fun... Fun... Fun... But it's a mystery, alright. Since 3 people were dead, by Pg. 60! -chuckle-
Do you like it?????????
I dislike it, immensely. She looks old and there is something not right, about the dimensions, to me.
Your thoughts, Dear Reader???
Dang "You-Know-What"! "It" is spreading like wild-fire, and different forms of "It," are making many, many, many people sick. That's right! I'm not even naming "It." Don't want to put "It" out into the Universe.
We aren't going to our Granddaughter's basket ball game (her coach is one of our sons, as well)... Because we want to avoid crowds.

We wanted to go to the Gun Show, being held this weekend, to give support for the Second Amendment. But that'll be a large group of people, in one area. Perfect for spreading germs. So, we won't be going. -sigh-
Is "IT" messing with your plans too????????????????????

I do not like Kate's portrait either. Her smile looks smirky. "IT" is rampant here in AZ also. Washing hands constantly and trying not to touch my face is my defense!!!
i saw her portrait yesterday on my news blog and wrote the comment, it makes her look old and dowdy and does not show the vibrant beauty she is. i can't believe they approved it. i would not have know it was her if not for the news about it. showed the man who did the portrait looking like he created a master piece.
yes we have made adjustments to plans. this week end was our week in to go out for pizza...we have given up res truants until after flu season. I bought a frozen Red Baron for make do.
restaurants are prime places for germs to spread. the helps is not paid all that well and no sick days, so they work sick. i have seen a waitress so sick she could hardly speak at Olive Garden. i could not eat my food.
Yes, Auntie, we are avoiding crowds also. But even though we may not go to the movies or restaurants, we still have to grocery shop...? We try to use our hand sanitizer as soon as we get back into the car and then wash our hands and gargle when we get home, but other than that...
We were going to avoid a crowd and really we did, but groceries must be purchased and two is better than one so we did it. I slathered myself and that cart in disinfectant...they have wipes to use...no, I didn't use theirs for me...I had hand sanitizer...and we took extra Echinacea. I'm not going near those Winter Boys (grands) if they have so much as a sniffle. LOL!
No, I intensely dislike Kate's official portrait. Perhaps, if she were twenty years older, but not even then. She has a smug, unusual for her look on her face. Perhaps she didn't like the artist.
Glad that you found a yummy delicious book to read. Three dead by page 60. Not bad!
I have have IT and thank goodness it wasn't too bad - don't know if it was because I had had the flu shot or not.
I recognized Kate, but no I can't say I like it at all - she is much livelier than that!
Hope you don't get it!
i hate that portrait! she looks extremely displeased about something. i don't know who could look at it and like it.
I'm not crazy about the picture either. Doesn't look at all natural!
I keep going out - I just wash my hands ALL the time. I also carry hand sanitizer with me and use often.
I was going to add the books to my list, but my list is just too long right now.
'It' has drastically changed my life for this 'flu season.' I missed seeing my mother and sisters because 'It' was living in the house at the time. When 'It' goes away I get to go out and play!!
I didn't like Kate's portrait either. For one thing, I think her nose looks too long. I think it lacks personality, too.
My son who may have 'it' is on his way here as I type this. He has been feeling poorly all day. He has a job to do about 70 miles south of us on Monday so he thought he'd come in and leave from here that morning. Meanwhile, he'll get some homemade chicken soup and care that he wouldn't have at home alone. I better go stir that soup now...
Keeping fingers crossed he doesn't pass 'it' along to us!
Kate's portrait is awful. She looks as though she has lived a life at hard labor and has had her age advanced to about mid-50's. The distance between her eyes is off and the eyes have no spark to them as theu sit above those doughy cheeks. I read an article saying that the man who painted the portrait is best know for his "Realistic paintings of Rhinos". Why would the palace select a portrait artist who only paints wild animals to do Kates? At least this explained why it looks nothing like her. Embarassing & insulting all ay once.
I had a laugh yesterday when I had a Dr. appt. at the hospital clinics. I have to wear a surgical mask because my immune system is not working well. Everyone who saw my mask shuddered and pressed themselves against the walls of the elevators to avoid me. One little kid asked his Mom why I had the mask on. Of course, rather than speak to me, she shussed the boy. As she was dragging him down the hall I heard her tell him I was sick & could make them sick too. I always get this reaction & no one considers that it is I who am afraid if catching their germs and not the other way around. So, with all the flu, I guess I scare people more than usual - Makes me laugh otherwise I would go nuts.
So happy you found your kind of cozy mystery book to read.
Everybody remember that people can be contagious even though they are not symptomatic. So I guess it is reasonable to be paranoid with the flu epidemic. Probably not the "optimism" you were seeking Auntie.
No flu at my house so far but it is all around us. :( I do not like the portrait either....it is dull looking. I like your back ground. I had a wallpaper similar to it years ago.
