Oh, oh... I think it's finally happening...
The *long-ness* of this Season, is setting in...
Dull... Dull... Dull... Dull........................ The world outside my windows, looks dull, dull, dull, dull, dull, dull, dull.........
-sigh-
Look at those colors... Dull, dark, flat, not uplifting...
Hardly any color, to speak of.

Color!!!!!! That's what I need!!!! Color!!!!

Bright splashes of color.....

I can't paint the trees or the bushes... But I suppose I could paint lots of color, on paper.........

Then again....... What reason do I have, to be made sort-of-depressed, by the dullness of the late Season of Winter??? That is such a small *discomfort,* compared to all the possible endless real discomforts, in life. So I should be put-out-at-myself, for even allowing my mood to be made sort-of-depressed, even for a small amount of time.
So there!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that is what is causing the blog blues we need color lots of color...I have been trying really hard to appreciate natures beauty the way it is now... But I do long for color
I'd rather have dull than snow, any day at my show haha
we had snow when i woke up this morning! i love this time of year because in a month everything will be green.
Why keep searching for that beauty, Auntie? I see wonderful shapes in the tree branches in these photos that you posted today :) But remember...I love cloudy, rainy days :D
The "colorful" paintings are gorgeous and cheerful! If they cheer you then by all means look at them and feel better :)
Right. That's the thinking! I must be suffering from SAD. Time to take some vitamin D.
The world truly does look very dull to me just now. Time to put on the rose colored glasses and remember that everything will turn out well in the end if we want it to.
Good idea to have some fun with your paints and create some splashes of color. Have you ever tried that technique of applying paint first and then drawing in shape last in black? It's quite striking.
Don't worry Auntie...spring is only 19 more days away :)
Spring is on the way! Hang on! 18 more days!!
The Lady is Lovely!

There is a reason for every season; I happen to love winter. It is my favorite - even though we don't get any snow or ice. It's still my favorite. It is the time of quiet...dormancy, regrouping, you might say. A time to stop and take pause...not to rush anything. Never getting in a hurry. As I get older, I appreciate quiet so much. However, I do look forward to spring. Each season has its own special regalia.
Love,
Jackie
It seems even wintry here in south Texas today. The wind is blowing and we have the small electric heater on here in the camper. I made clam chowder and waldorf salad for our lunch. I am hoping to get outside this afternoon if it warms up a bit. For now I am content to get in the girl bunk and do some reading. I would LOVE to finish the book I have been reading for a MONTH!!!
I too long for the colors of spring, but I think there is still beauty in the winter. I see it every day on my morning walks.
There's the sunrises and sunsets - they are colorful all year round. : )
I think everyone feels a little like this at this time of year. Just read for Spring to start. My garden looks so bad I don't want to look out of the window at atll!
At least we're having some sunshine now which always cheers me up a bit although it also makes all the areas that need a good fix up much more noticeable!
Lynn :D
