On Monday, after taking care of Gabe for awhile... We went down back, to attack the "Sleeping Beauty Castle" aspects, there. Before they get leafing out, and before all the other ground stuff has begun to re-grow, and make it nearly impossible to move around down there. ~~~~~~~~~~ "Down there" is what shows, out the Den windows. It's the south/east corner of our property... Where the pool "works" are located... To the west of this little area, is the pool. And to the west of the pool, is the wee little back yard we have.
Anyway, we grabbed our machete, 2 different sized clippers, and "Went On Our Quest". He hacked and I clipped. Then he clipped, what he couldn't hack. We did wonderfully. But still have rogue trees to chop/saw down, another day. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Plus, another day, we have to gather up and drag out, all the branches/trees/vines, we culled.
Don't know how long we were out there, but for exercise, it sure beat our Sat. walk stroll. -grin- I went to sleep last night at 9PM, and didn't get up till 12 hours later, this morning. -chuckle-
It's super, when you have been wanting and wanting to do some project. And you finally get at it.

That's the best kind of exercise, Auntie...working in the yard :)
We can't do anything outside...we are still buried in snow with talk of more on the way!
Love the darling photos of Gabe. He sure knows how to ignore the camera :)
Hugs,
Jan
It was certainly a beautiful weekend to do outside work Auntie - at least here in my neck of the woods!
Wasn't that nice hear I fear, but you are right, when you can get something done that you wanted to do, it feels good to have it out of the way.
that is the best feeling. nothing like working hard outside all day and then sleeping hard. i have lots of that to do too!
I can't wait to be able to work in the yard, but I have to do a little at a time until my ole bod get used to physical labor again. And that means the treadmill has just gathered dust this winter. Good intentions and all that jazz. :)
Oh, and the Eating Plan??? File that under Good Intentions, too!
Sweet photos of Gabe!
Glad you got to get outside! That always renews your spirits...
Love the photos!

I love how children can have fun for hours playing with little blocks like that.

Sometimes I get that way...just want to hack it all down. Get that way with my hair, too. Get that way with a lot of things. Ha! Glad that you had a productive day. Gabe looks very serious and intentional in his play.
One of the the differences between the two movies was that John Wayne's Rooster Cogburn was pretty clean and Jeff Bridges' character was pretty filthy. Guess they were just being real.
Horray for you both!
I walked around a bit on Saturday but I guess that doesn't count as yard work!
I love seeing those cheeks of Gabe's!
xo
Good for YOU! We've been outside today as well! Just DOING stuff feels GOOD!!!
Love your pics of your precious Gabe!
yard work is good exercise for sure...Gabe is having a good time...
What a beautiful little guy you've got there....
How satisfying to get out and do some useful work in the yard. Much better than just exercising for exercise's sake!
Finally you are able to get out with out shoveling snow. I look forward to that kind of a deep satisfying sleep when i get the chance to clean up our patio. Love little Gabe pictures. I can't wait to spend some time with my little grandsons.
We've had so much rain lately that we've been unable to work in our garden. Maybe this weekend!
xo,
RJ
