Quartz...Views...Books...Blahhhh...

We found this quartz half, down cellar...  Something which survived the "big clean out."  "Uncle A." washed it well and it's lovely, again.  :-)  The holder is gone...    He'll have to make another 'thing,' to hold it correctly.  Out of wood.

(Just a light-shadow, on the kitchen floor...)

Our heating system quit, Wedesday morning.  So Wes (our long time plumber) came over and got it going again.  A couple more things have to be installed, but that will be another day was done on Thurs.  I'll tell ya', tiss way too soon, to be without heat, in the house.  -chuckle-
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, I had been "pushing the envelope" on dairy consumption.  And today, I "paid the piper."  With a sudden and long trip to the "looooooo."  lol.  Too much information, I know.  But just letting you know, why I do NOT  EAT  many things, which I DO  NOT  EAT.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
My gut has a way of keeping me *on the straight and narrow.*  Which is a good thing.  If I could consume loads of "bad-for-me-things," and get away with it, would I be as careful, as I am?  Don't know.  But don't have to find out.  :-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Do you Dear Reader, have any health necessities, which your body insures that you *keep on the straight and narrow,* about?????????????
"When asked to explain the brisk pace of his novels, Elmore Leonard said; "I leave out the parts that people skip.""  (Written by George Will)    Sadly, that's what I feel like I have to do, when composing blog posts.  Leave out a lot, because Dear Readers may just skip words/thoughts, if I don't.
Do you get this feeling also?  Do you sometimes begin, with a plump paragraph?  And end up, with 3 sentences?   Do your own eyes tend to "glaze over," when you open a post, with lots and lots of words?
A tiny detour here, for a mention of a fav peeve of mine.......  Writing, which is not broken up into paragraphs Eeek!  Eeeek!  Eeeek!  Please people, begin a new paragraph, when you move to a different aspect, of your over-all topic.  IN Comments too...  Please and thank you.
It's still cold here in my neck of the woods.  I'm not feeling particularly *Spring-eee*.  But so many bloggers are, feeling *Spring-eee,* that I thought I'd add a pretty picture from a Net source.
Actually, I really need to PERK  MYSELF  UP!!!  I'm getting tired of blogging,  tired of trying to do a wee bit of art, tired of doing even a little baking, etc.  Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh kind of covers it.  And I DO NOT HAVE A REASON to feel Blahhhhhhhhhhh.
So snap yourself out of it, "Auntie"!!!
Hip, hip, hip!
Get to it!!!!
Perk up!!!!
NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:-)
Well, you know with me, it's my blood pressure which, thanks to a low sodium diet, has been coming down very nicely. But, I also suffer from IBS, have since I was a young woman. I've learned throughout the years what triggers it and have stayed away from those foods. However, I've found it hard to stay away from stress, another trigger.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Lovely find in the basement! I love to find lost treasures and that quartz certainly qualifies. I can handle reading most anything as long as there are paragraphs. I do love paragraphs. Oh, I have real trouble reading black backgrounds. A black background affects my eyes in some way that it really causes me grief. So I avoid all blogs using black for a background.
I think we all have our dietary indiscretions. I, for example, am allergic to cashews. Very. I swell up. My lips swell to three times their normal size. I look bee-kissed for sure. Anyway, what nut do you suppose is my very favorite? Bingo! I am learning that every food is tolerable in moderation...three cashews is not going to get me...twenty-three is.
Spring is coming and soon you'll be skipping along tickety-boo with no concerns for weariness. It's winter weariness I think!
What a gorgeous piece of quartz! I'll bet that Uncle A. will make a beautiful stand for it!
Paragraphs are fine with me, but if someone doesn't care to use them that's ok, too.
Funny how something as simple as a spot of sun on the floor can be an interesting photo opportunity.
Beautiful website that you posted the link to.
Have a great day, Auntie!!!
Glad your heat got fixed. YES it's a tad too soon for that to be a happening :)
Also, that quartz is beautiful! I can't believe how large it is.
You mentioned long posts - I don't feel yours are too long at all. You also break it up with lovely pictures. I try to limit most of my posts to around 3 or 4 paragraphs but that's just me. I probably need to add more pictures like you do :)
Pretty quartz.... Some of my posts are short and sweet sometimes I ramble on...but that's who I am...sometimes I get lots of comments sometimes not and I really never know why.. Some short posts get lots of attention but then sometimes my rambling ones get even more attention...I think it depends on the mood of the commentors
Yeah too much dairy and off to the loo I go too, gluten is a whole other story and potatoes also really make me go a ton. haha and yeah no paragraphs annoy a ton too, all depends on the day as well, on what people will dwell.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the quartz. I have one too. They are so beautiful. I'm glad it survived the 'purge' hee hee
With having Crohn's, I must, for the most part, stay on the 'straight and narrow' also.
I'm finding it hard to blog right now too, and as far as spring is concerned, it feels like it will NEVER come. We still have AT LEAST 4-5 foot snow banks. And they are hard, hard packed. I think they will be here until June...maybe July...we'll have our pool up along side a snow bank hee hee
What a very gorgeous geode that is. Definitely worth keeping on view!
I have dairy consumption issues too - I can eat pretty much all the cheese I want (except cream cheese) but if I have any milk, or milk-y things like ice cream, I too pay the piper. So I limit myself to one serving of ice cream per month (and not always that often) - keeping on the straight and narrow as you say.
An exception to this: when I'm in California I can eat Baskin-Robbins (ice cream) every night with NO ill effects. Go figure! :)
No two blogs are alike! That's what makes us each so unique! We like you the way you are and YES! I read every word!
Love your blogs...
Love the fact that all my blogging friends are different...and that is wonderful to me!!
Your crystal is fabulous. I want to find one and crack it open and hope that it is beautifully purple inside. Hasn't happened (yet)...but since we have a home in the mountains in NC, I am not giving up hope.
Sending you love and hugs,
Jackie
My health issues all have silent repercussions. High blood pressure, diabetis, over weight and bad knees.
My doctor tries to keep me on the straight and narrow.
I'm trying better this year to be better.
