Oh lookie!!! "The Omnivore's Dilemma" Can you hear 'Uncle A's' sighing and moaning and groaning????? ,-) Fearful of what I WON'T_ EAT_ NOW! There goes beef, from 'animal factory farming'. And all her veggies/fruits will have to be the expensive Organic kind. And... And... And...
See, he went through this before! When one of our sons was in hospital, with Salmonella Poisoning, I really got to reading all sorts of books, which exposed THE FOOD WE EAT. And would not, not, not eat meat.
Have you ever read a book, on how your steak, chicken, etc., are RAISED???????? And are KILLED?????? Hmmmm...? Hmmmm...? Hmmmm.......?
I won't read this cover-to-cover. But it will get me "thinking" again.........
Just for the H*ll of it, ,-) I'm showing a larger version of the picture I'm using, for my Icon now. I take a bunch of pics, into the downstairs bathroom/laundry room mirror. And try to get a self pic, which isn't tooooooo badddddddd. lol. We all know, how we don't have an easy time, with finding a self pic, we like, I think.
So there you have it. The frame of the mirror, and the red wall, not reflected. Me. Reflected in the mirror. Camera and hand, also reflected. And stacked dryer and laundry cabinet, reflected.
Don't say it!!!! -chuckle- Don't say this is a lame excuse for a post. -grin- I know it. But I have some info., in tomorrow's post!!!!!!!!!! REALLY! Really I will. :-)

Beautifully framed and captured.....
so you already knew about selifes in the mirror. i have been taking these for years, but did not know what they were called. i delete 99 percent of what i take, the one on my blog header i took in the bathroom and doctored it a little to remove the ugly stuff behind me...
if you read everything out there you won't eat at all....love your selfie...
It's your blog ... you can post about whatever you darn well please. :)
I liked "In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollan - have you read that one? And yes, I've read about how our food is processed. After reading "Fast Food Nation" some years ago it took me YEARS to buy any beef from the supermarket. Even now we don't buy much. And I will never, never, ever set foot in a McDonald's again. (Not a great sacrifice.)
Sometimes we just have to take a deep breath and go grocery shopping and do the best we can with what we have available. :)
Great portrait photo! I know just what you mean about trying to get one that isn't too terrible. Why is the bathroom mirror so much kinder than the camera? ;)
you hair has gotten long. wow, cute!! i'm guessing you are feeling better. i hope.
don't get me started on the foods we eat. i worried about it. & wonder what issues will we have next??! sickness & death? so silly & wild too!! nuts!!

Hi pretty lady...nice self-portrait...hope you're feeling good again. I read online just this morning which foods aggravates rheumatoid arthritis. I don't have the rheumatoid kind, but still have been noticing more flareups in various places which causes me to wonder if what I eat is a factor.
Some things should not be known...what's the old adage? Don't ask how the sausage is made.
Cute icon picture.
Yeah with all of my crap I've been reading a ton of stuff. One thing I found interesting was a study where they gave mice some stuff that causes cancer at 1000 times the dose humans need to get it, feed them beef, all got cancer and died, fed another set green food, not one got cancer. It isn't even beef anymore with all the horomones.
Love the self portrait Auntie!!
And no...I don't read the "hows" of our beef...I already know.
hughugs
Its a rare picture of myself that I like!!!
I like your new icon. : )
Auntie that is such a great picture!! And I honestly do not want to read about what I eat or else I may never want to eat again haha.
Love the self-portrait, Auntie!
My father-in-law is 98 years old and still going strong. He eats anything and everything! He eats fresh and he eats stale! It's just the way he has lived all his life and he has never read about what he should eat or not eat! Just a little "food for thought"!
Hugs,
Jan
Your as cute as a button :) I use to have to drive by a farm that raised cows for slaughter . It was so upsetting to put a face to my hamburger. i am a cow lover which made it harder. But then I realized that this is life and we need food. :(
