Wishing you a lovely Midsummer Night's Eve!!!

Wishing you a lovely Midsummer Night's Eve!!!

I doubt our fire, will be as big as these!!!  Better not be!!!
But next door son's family, does have a Fire Pit now.  Someone who couldn't use it, gave theirs to him.  So now we have the Tiki Torches.  And the Fire Pit.  :-)

Of course, I'm *scaring* everyone, by *threatening* to dance sky-clad, around the Fire Pit.   -giggggggles-

No dancing!  But we surely will have fire, to celebrate the return of the Sun.

Head garlands of flowers, are pretty.  I did that years ago, one Midsummer Night's Eve.  When the Grands only numbered 4.  I made head wreaths of 'Queen Ann's Lace' for the 3 girls.  Youngest Grand then, was a little boy.  So he had to be the King.

They danced around the back yard, for us.  :-)  While I played the CD of the music, from the film "Midsummer Night's Dream."  :-)

It would be lovely if the Fireflies came out, tonight.  Kind of don't think it's really warm enough, for them though.  Fireflies look so like Faeries!!!

I love to notice the turning of "The Wheel Of The Year".  I love to pay attention to the changing Seasons.  Really pay attention.  Even if, in modern times, we don't really have to.  We now have light, heat, cooling, 24/7.  And it's easy to forget the Rhythms of Nature.

But I think that when we forget, we diminish our lives.  We lose the connections, to the natural Cycles of Nature.  And we lose Magic, and Fun, and Joy...

Again, wishing you a lovely Midsummer Night's Eve!!!

Summer is here, but no fire for me I fear. I like to burn down my apt though. But the little voice inside my head says no..lol

too bad you don't have video of the grands...that would be awesome...a fire would be too hot here...when it's in the 90's still in the evenings...

Son just had a brick fire pit/grill built out beside his pool and they LOVE cooking on it. Hot dogs taste entirely different being cooked over wood. :))

How I missed that with all the fire I have no idea! Sounds like wonderful fun and will there be food? Hotdogs, marshmallows, grilled cheese on a stick? It sounds as if it will be a perfect evening for being out by a roaring fire.

How fun that sounds!! I actually didn't know there were these kinds of 'celebrations' even though I TOTALLY get excited when the temps even HOVER over 80 degrees -- which they are today! Enjoy!

And happy midsummer to you too m'dear. When I was younger we used to stay up all night on this night and watch the dawn ... in middle age I like my bed too much!

I bet that was such a joyous time celebrating mid summer's eve with the grands! I want to do that!! Not this year but in the next year or two! This sounded so like YOU!!!

Fireflies! A memory of my childhood! I have not seen them in years but my daughter, Summer, tells me she has them out where she lives. I would love to see them again!

A lovely post!!
