The sun came out (on Tues.) so we did some errands.   First came mailing a package and stopping by the library for ...

"The Night Circus" which looks delightful.  So far, anyway...

Then to the farm, where we go every Autumn, for locally grown Mac apples, and to chat with the now very old lady who runs the place.  She and her husband ran the farm for years and years.  He died and her Granddaughter has been running it, with her.  

But...

Sadly...

Now she is gone, and no one is home selling apples or pumpkins, etc .  

So sad............  It's like the closing of a chapter.

But we moved on to another farm stand...  Where there were...

very old scales,

and Mums and pumpkins........

and a cool gargoyle.  But no apples!

So onward we went, to a place which/grows and sells them, for sure.  :-)  No Apple Pie last night, but I made Baked Apples and they were simple but yummy.  He made Squash Soup, from the squash he got at the same place.  We had the soup, and Shrimp Cocktail and Baked Apples, and it was a gooooooooooooooooood dinner.  :-)
