Inconsistencies, and other stuff... -grin-

Thank you for sharing your views with me,
in yesterday's comments!!!!!!!!

Nothing like inconsistency.  -grin-  Yesterday, I said how I love photos, which give me peeks into a Dear Blogger's life.  So today, I start out, not with my own photo but...  With an image, from The Victorian Trading Co.   But!!!  It is so pretty!!!  :-)

The newest Victorian Trading Co. catalog had it on the cover, and I was hooked.  ,-)  Even if the colors are not pink, red, green.

BUT!!!   Watch out now!!!  Here comes a typical "Auntie" photo!!!  -grin-
.
.
But also taken, in The Factory restaurant...

,-)

Hey, I actually could do a "What Is It?" for this photo.  Although, it's not all that hard to figure out, What It Is.  When you go to the Lady's Room, you want one available.  And you want it working.  ,-)
.
The difference, about this particular kind, is that the tissue comes out, kind of like a pop-up tissue box. Like the tissues, out of a baby wipe container.  Which I think is super!!!  What is popping out at you, has not been touched, by anyone else.   !!!!!!!!!!!!
.
I happen to be *Miss Fusssssy Pants* in public lavatories.  Very much so!!!  I don't want to use any piece of tissue, which was touched, by the previous user of the facilities!!!  (Sorry if that's too graphic for you, first thing in the morning or something.  -grinnnn-  But Facts Is Facts!!!)  >;-)

That catalog arrived.  And the Winter issue of  "The Cottage Journal."  Both covers are delightful.  But...  I'm discovering that who ever puts "The Cottage Journal" together, does not resonate with the same colors, as I do.  -sigh-
.
Anyone who has read here for a while, knows I like pinks, reds, wines, not-bright-greens, lace, etc.  But who ever Edits this magazine, goes for lots and lots of browns...  Which is fine, for all the Brown-Lovers out there.  But not for me.   Obviously, I won't renew this...
.
But we don't know, unless we try........   :-)

Yesterday, was a "do-nothing-day", because I didn't feel *Up To Snuff.*  But was determined to go to Granddaughter E.'s first home Basketball Game, last night!!!!   For her and for her Coach, who happens to be our middle Son.  And we went!  And they won!  And all is right with the world.  :-))))

But that leaves today, to play catch-up.  :-)  My library finally has my *Cozy Mysteries Set At Christmas Time* in!!!  I'm taking back my other books out, and hoping to love these Cozies.  I'll write down the names of books I have not read, before returning them.  In case I get in the mood for them, later.
.

That and making some G/F Biscuits and regular Biscuits, so we can have them with Chicken tonight.  Etc.  Any day will always fill, with things to be done.  :-)  Hope you have a productive day today, Dear Reader.

Do you know 'Henry'? Plus other stuff..... :-)

I am totally enamoured with 'Henry Crabbe'!  I admit it.  I don't mind saying it.  I am.  And who is 'Henry Crabbe' you may ask?  Why he is the main character in "Pie In The Sky," a British tv series of a bit back.  I'm renting it from our Library System.  We're on the 3rd Season now.  :-)

Oh yes, I know!  -sigh-  He played the worst 'muggle' of them all, in 'Harry Potter.'  But I love him as the Detective/Chef in "Pie In The Sky."  :-))))
.
When we went to the orchard shop, to get the Mac apples for the pie...    I found this quite pretty Photo Op.  :-)  Sun, through Maple Syrup bottles.

"Uncle A." was way down in the apple bin, which contained the Mackintosh Apples.  The only ones he wants in his Apple Pies.  Note that there weren't that many left.

This is a picture, taken across another bin full of apples...  With him leaning down, to get the Macs.  There were lots of bins full of apples.  But must be, the Macs are the most popular.  Maybe...?

I'm finding more and more delicious Lactose Free items.  This being Creamy Goat Cheese with Roasted Red Peppers.  Yummmmmmmmmmmmy!!!!!  :-)

Must use Bell's Seasoning, in the turkey stuffing.  Must!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you too, Dear Reader, use Bell's Seasoning?

♥ Time for Soup...!!!

It's time to think about making SOUP...  :-)

This continued to bubble away yesterday.  Barley added.   More liquid.   More bubbling.   Put it in the refrigerator, over night.  Today we can skim lots of fat off the top, before heating it up, to eat.

Do you Dear Reader, refrigerate such recipes over night, to take the fat off?

And time for an Apple Pie, with those apples we brought home from the farm stand.  But we have to get one ingredient.  Uncle A. will have to make a quick-run to the little store...

Then he will get going on the peeling/slicing.  And I will get going on the home made crust.  (And keep it a secret, from extended family...  So Uncle A. can have the first Apple Pie, all to himself.  -grin-)  Not to worry, he takes his time in eating it.  He likes to savour it.   Because he knows I won't make many.  The crust has toooooo much Sat/Fat stuff in it.  I have to take care, that he doesn't have tooooooo many baddddddd "goodies."

Obviously, this Plant Nursery really gets-into the spirit of Halloween!!!

These decorations are inside, for now.  But outside, on a big field beside the Nursery, "The Pumpkin Patch" is beginning to be assembled.  This is the cutest thing, for all ages!!!  And I remember bringing my oldest Granddaughter here, when she was a wee-one.  :-))))))))   Things like riding with her, in the little "train," which takes littler kids around, in the day time.  Too scary for them to go, at night.  -grin-   Also not quite big enough, for 'Nanas' to fit, easily.  LOL!

♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥

(Organic this and that, where we got the apples...)

Before I forget!  I actually saw one Hummingbird the other day.  I looked up and there was a wee grayish-brown one, hovering a bit, outside the Patio door.  He didn't stay, but at least I did get to see him.  ONE anyway.

Wondering if they *summered* a bit north of here this year, because of the hot summer weather?  And he was just stopping-by, on his way south now?  :-)

♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥   ♥

Do kids have fun at this Nursery???   Or do kids have fun, at this Nursery????    ,-))))))))))

And do "Nanas" with cameras, have fun at this place, tooooooo?????????????  ,-)))))))))))))

♥ A combination weekend... Ugh and Great... ,-)

I read the first book, on the left, ages ago, and loved it.  Then when I wanted to re-read it, I couldn't remember the name.  -sighhhhhhhh-  I remembered the plot of course, and kept thinking the name was some version of "The Apothecary's Daughter."  I looked in Book Blogs on the Net...  I talked to my library friends, who also love YA lit.  NO LUCK!   "Oh bother..."
 ~ * ~
Then!  Somehow!  I found the name!  And, and, and, there is a second book, carrying the story farther.  Hoooooray!
~ * ~
So basically, our heroine and her father are Herbalists, who were the earliest Apothecaries.  My husband being a Pharmacist, was fascinated by what I told him, of the use of plants, in the book.   Having been a Pharmacist for over half a century, he remembers an earlier time, which was closer to "the old ways."  When not everything "came in bottles" from a manufacturer.
~ * ~
So, he read the first book, too.  While I read the second.  And now, he is reading the second.
~ * ~
This kind of reading, makes one want to look up more, about the topic.  All about plants and their uses, being this one.  Wow, and Ouch!  The Plant World is powerful!  Something which "Olden Peoples" knew.  But which we so-called-modern Peoples, forget.   WE should NOT forget.
~ * ~
And of course, since this girl could heal (by knowledge of plants), she had to be careful, not to be looked on as a Witch.  -sigh-  Humans...  They wanted the healing, but feared the Healer.  -sigh-

On Saturday I was sick, from over-doing the eating of certain foods...  Some things I can eat, in moderation, and taking "L*ctaid."  But a week of over-doing this and that...  And I "PAY".  I "paid" on Sat.   ~~~   So on Sun., I made a Pound Cake for Uncle A. and a G/F plain Cake for myself.

On Sunday, which was purrrrrrfect early Autumn weather (especially after my "sick" Saturday), 'Uncle A.'  wanted to get me out of the house, and into the fresh air.   :-)   So we took a couple of little rides.  One to the east and one to the west.  To the east, we visited a big farm stand, where apples have been available every Autumn, for as long as I can remember.  And I had lots of Photo Ops.  This big, big pumpkin and Mums above, being one of them.

Of course, we picked out a bag of Mac Apples, for the first Apple Pie of the season!!!

Usually, people can go "pick-their-own-apples" here at this orchard, and all the orchards in the area.  But the apple crop was so hurt by weather, that there is no "pick-your-own-apples" yet.  ~~~~~   And the pumpkin crop is just being brought in now.

I noticed these Red Hot Chili Peppers, in the sun.  They were so beautiful-a-RED, that I just *had* to snap a picture of them!!!  :-)

This old poster, which they had hanging in the shop, caught my eye too.  Sooooooo, I took a pic.  :-)

And another "Because-I-Can" photo op!  LOL!!!  Now how could I pass by this huge gaping hole of rusted bumper?!?  Rust just *calls me.*  -giggggles-

So as not to end with "RUST"...  -gigggles-

I'll show a pic of these old fashioned Pure Maple Sugar Candies.  Do any Dear Readers remember them?  Maple Sugar Candy made in little molds?  I didn't get this package, but I did get a single Maple Sugar Leaf-mold-made one.  Very sweet and very rich.  A small piece can last a long time.  :-)))))

It was a purrrrrfect early Autumn day...  Breeze, brilliant sun, blue skies, puffy white clouds...  Perfect day for a ride (or 2) in the country.  :-)

I love, love, love the area of our Beloved Country, in which I am lucky enough to live!!!

♥ Of bears... And houses, in another town...

On Tues. there were 2 sightings of black bears, on the campus, where we sometimes walk.  Waving at "Happy One"...  I'm sure you'll get a kick out of this information.  After my "getting my panties in a twist," over you saying there were reports of black bears, in the area where your home in the country is.        -chuckle-

We took a little ride yesterday and went for lunch at that little Cafe, in a town, a few miles east of us.  They used to have G/F bread to use for sandwiches.  But don't any more.  There wasn't enough sustained demand for it...   So, I simply had the Sandwich, without any bread.  It was cheese around chicken and etc., so it was good...  Without the bread.  And Yes, I can have little amounts of Dairy, if I take the like-L*ctaid and don't have too much, too often.  (With only small after-effects...)
~~ \\\\\\ ~//////~\\\\\\~//////~\\\\\\~//////~~

After we ate, I took pics of the beautiful display of Zinnias which was growing in front of this little row of cute stores.  "Uncle A's" Zinnias didn't make it this year.  :-(  Next year, they should be planted in a different spot.
~~ \\\\\\ ~//////~\\\\\\~//////~\\\\\\~//////~~

Look at those matching rocking chairs!!!  Just right for "Uncle" and "Auntie"!  :-)))))

We also rode around some, in this small town, and took some pics of houses.
~~ \\\\\\ ~//////~\\\\\\~//////~\\\\\\~//////~~

There are quite a few beautiful old homes there!
~~ \\\\\\ ~//////~\\\\\\~//////~\\\\\\~//////~~

So many are for sale though.  -sigh-   NO not this one!   I *WANT* this one though.  :-))))
~~ \\\\\\ ~//////~\\\\\\~//////~\\\\\\~//////~~

(Another view, of the house above...)

Some are big, and hard for one family to maintain, I'm sure.  If you have a B and B, it works.
~~ \\\\\\ ~//////~\\\\\\~//////~\\\\\\~//////~~

(And another view.  Oh isn't that whole house, porch, yard...  Simply beautiful???)

Or if the house is made over inside, to be an office...
