Just look at that fallllllllllllllling barometer, in my Header pic, Folks!
Between that, this morning... And it being Friday the 13th... Brrrrrr...
-giggles-
Nope, I don't believe in any *Hex On Fri. The 13th.* Other than people who do believe in some *evil omen* on this day, and do crazy things, because of this belief. ,-)

But, the neighbor next door, does have some sort of a repair man there, already...
And it's only about 8am. ............................. LOL.

Anyway, didn't get out to use my red plaid boots, yesterday. Our oldest "Grand" Kate, came over and spent the afternoon. It was more fun, doing this, than walking in my new boots, though! We talked about EVERYTHING! And the 3 of us (Kate, "Pop", and I) solved-the-problems-of-the-world, laughing and talking and laughing some more.
♡
But! I now have to make an Apple Pie for her, today. I'd forgotten my assurance, that I'd make one, before she went back to college this time. (Since I didn't make one for Thanksgiving Dinner) And I had "handily" forgotten. But!!!! Got caught!
Gotta' make one today! :-)

Yesterday, I made an *Executive Decision,* in my role as Homemaker... Yesterday morning's cup of coffee for "Uncle A." was very delicious, said he. Of course it was, said I. Because it wasn't made with the cheapest-brand-of-coffee-I-could-find in the market. It was of Ch*ck Full O' Nu*s brand.
♡
He only has one cup of coffee a day. Why should I *pinch pennies,* on that??? No more!!!! I will purchase good coffee for him, from now on. And I'd made that decision, even BEFORE he mentioned how deeeeeeeeelicious his coffee was, yesterday.
♡
I think we need to *pick our battles,* in this Fight With The Economy. :-)
How about you??????????

I've never read "Anne of Green Gables," nor seen the tv portrayal.
But the more quotes I find, from that book,
the more I know, I should read it.....
I didn't have red hair, but I feel a kinship with her feisty-ness...
Not when I was young. Nope. I was a *little mouse* when young, and for years and years after.
It took me a long time, to bring-forth-or-to-let-out-my-feisty-ness.
:-)

"There's such a lot of different Annes in me. I sometimes think that is why I'm such a troublesome person. If I was just the one Anne it would be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be half so interesting."

Good Morning!!
I have read every book by L.M. Montgomery and seen all the movies, shows and/or series! Love them ALL!!
My daughter gave us a fancy Cuisinart coffee maker that grounds the beans fresh for each pot.
WELL!! That seems to make the caffeine SO much stronger! And since LD drinks a WHOLE pot -- we cut the amount of beans in half this morning!
That should save a bit of $$ as well as his nerves!!
Happy Friday to you!
You have a lot of 'Annes' in you? Oh my. Your name isn't Sybil, is it? :) Or Eve?
You've not seen nor read Anne of Green Gables...oh sweet enchantment awaits you, perfect for winter afternoons!
Happy pie baking! My cookies are descending into the crunch and dunk variety.
Your afternoon with your granddaughter sounded perfectly delightful! Please share your solves with the world asap!
You go girl! I think you should definitely splurge on coffee! What a treat!
Good decision to pick your battles and buy um um good coffee.
Time well spent with your 'grand', making memories to last a lifetime.
Hugs,
Pam
I agree about picking your battles.
I too have never read Anne of Green Gables. I've seen little bits of it on tv but never all of it.
Sounds like a perfectly lovely way to spend the afternoon!
I love apple pie, especially with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I'm with you on not scrimping on the coffee. It's may perfect way of starting the day - I even like it more that those expensive coffee chain stores. Theirs taste burnt to me. BTW - Love those red plaid boots - I was them in a catalog and am actually thinking about getting some.
Enjoy your weekend!
Leann
Yes, some things I will skimp on but never on COFFEE, CHEESE, BACON, HAM.
Those things have to be of good quality to enjoy, I think. I spend too much on my coffee, I know....but, ...................SO WHAT !! :)))
hugs, bj
Oh yummy, the apple pie sounds delicious with some of your good coffee. I know we spend too much on certain things but my hubby says we deserve it. No, do not have bad feelings about Friday 13, you see today is my birthday and I had a wonderful day, yesterday too. However, many folks do and are afraid of this day. Hugs...Lu
I agree with you about the coffee. I have cut myself back also and I like to have something that tastes good.
I also like a good cup of coffee in the morning. I've found the best at an Aldi store, Its even better than my favorite 8 O'Clock!! Try it if you have an Aldi's near you.
