♥ Misty, moisty, hooray for some rain...

A misty, moisty morning...  Looking to up the road to the east, from front yard....

Looking up the road to the west, from front yard...  That's the college campus...

The Cone Flowers seemed to stand up well, to all the thunder storm RAINS, over night.

But not, the poor little Petunias, by the front walk...  -sigh-  They really got POUNDED.

And the beautiful Tuberous Begonias in the pot on the front step...
The red stalk got pounded down.

Misty...

"Moisty" windshield...

Some kind of a bug, perched on the rear view mirror...  With house, truck, lawn reflected on back of it.
This is really getting into the realm of, "Because-I-Can-Pics."  -grin-

This is front yard ~ Taken from nearly-ground level ~ Notice those tall, spiky things... ~ And the various leafy things... ~ Those are the *Dear Weeds,* which keep our lawn GREEN, even in lack-of-rain-weather.  -chuckle-  "THAT" stuff keeps growing...  When fancy grass gives up and goes dry and brown.  -giggggggles-   Long live weeds!!!!!

"I want to have a little house with sunshine on the floor,

A chimney with a rosy hearth, and lilacs by the door;

With windows looking East and West,  And a crooked apple tree,

And room beside the garden fence for hollyhocks to be!

I agree...nothing stays green like a weed! We had thundershowers overnight, too. Guess that we're expecting more for later today.

it seems weeds do well drought or not drought, they live on. love the truck shots.. all of them. sorry about the crushed flowers. we need a pounding rain about now, but it does push them down.

We could use some rain here in NC. The coneflowers seem to do well in just about any conditions.

Weeds and wildflowers do survive -- my gardens are proof of this. I'll bet those petunias perk right up again for you. I love summer after a good rainfall -- too bad so much of our country is in a severe drought.
Peace,
Muff

I am glad you got some cooling summer rain. It is going to be no time at all and everything will bounce right back.

I would love to see your bird fountain. Or have you already shared it on your blog?

Hugs from Holland ~

What is it they say? Weeds are just herbs that no one has yet found a use for?

Such pretty flowers and great photos. I'm sure the petunias will perk right up after they get a little sun. : )

Cute little poem.
I'd love a little house like that. We'll have to build one on our 'land.'
No name yet.

What a wonderful attitude and winning way to look at weeds!!

I LOVE the blue truck!!

We have had a lot of rain in Houston - like nearly every day!
It's not pretty rain like you have. It did keep the temps a bit cooler though. Not COOLER but shall we say LESS hot!!
