Re: Our Hydrangeas
It's not the color we care about...
It's that the grown-large-bushes, do not produce ANY flowers.

Wheeeeeeeew, got camera batteries, when we went to get corn/melon. Wheeeew... -grin-
Btw, we used to have a recharge-batteries-thing, and used re-chargeable ones. Then, something happened. We didn't know what the exact cause was... But we had to switch to not-re-chargeable ones again, to be sure our batteries were going to last long enough. ????

See coffee can. Says *ORIGINAL*. *Original* means Original, right????
But...
"Uncle A." began to notice a different taste, in his always caffeinated coffee.
~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~
He looked on the back and... Eeeeeek! See that chart? "ORIGINAL" means only 1/2 caffeine! To get fully caffeinated now, you have to buy "French Roast" or "New York Roast".
WHAT?!?!?!

One of "Uncle A's" Old Roses...

With use of the 'Blur Edges' part of my Mac Photo Program. This feature also offers the Matte Effect. That of putting white (or black) edges, on a pic. Which is as close as I can get, to having a *Frame* for my pics.

(Kinda' like "The Last Rose of Summer"...)
I discovered that Turner Classic Movies was showing lots of old Ginger Rogers films yesterday. So last evening we watched "42nd Street" and "Swing Time." :-))))

(Thank you for telling me to keep the photo...I hadn't realized that I was asking until you explained. Yes, I guess that I was asking for permission to keep it. Instead, I am giving it. Tomorrow. If I miss it terribly, I shall have another made up.)
So down go the hydrangea bushes or just a pruning? I've seen some beautifully large ones blooming to beat the band. My friend has the most lovely ones...pink and ivory...I always love it when she thinks to give me some. Perhaps it's time for a visit now.
Does Ginger dance in those movies? I have discovered that very few old movies live up to my memory of them so don't enjoy them so much anymore. How about you? Did you enjoy them?
I am shocked about the "Original" roast. Now I'm wondering about the prices of the different roasts. We switched to Tim Horton's some time back and are perfectly content to remain with that brand for now. If they mess with the formula, I'll be moving on again.
Cool there? Muggy as all get out here. Uggy-Muggy.
There are so many different coffees out now it is hard to make choices. Coffee is so expensive here in the city, average $7 for a small can--that I tend to buy what is on sale.
We had a lovely morning here as well. Low humidity for a change.

So on the hydrangeas, check this out and see if any of the conditions qualify for you: http://www.hydrangeashydrangeas.com/wont_bloom.html If not, if you do a search for hwy hydrangeas won't bloom, there are other sites. This one, however, looked pretty good. Hugs to you, dear Auntie!
I sometimes buy 1/2 caff. when I feel I am drinking too much coffee. Don't much like the decaf but the 1/2 is ok, every now and then.
We got a tiny shower last night...about a quarter inch, I think. Not much but better than none. :)
hugs, bj
We had 27 drops of rain last night! Just enough to bring out a DOUBLE rainbow!!!
Your pictures just get prettier and prettier!
i forgot about the ginger rodger's day. i wanted to watch the movies that did not have Fred A in them. oh well. i love the old roses so beautiful. and once again i am reminded to read the label. i can't tell you how many times i come home an item and it is not what i wanted, looked like it but not. it was so much easier when items were just a few to choose from. i noticed Cheerio's now have about 5 different types and that is not counting generic brands.
I don't know if I've mentioned it, but I really like your new background and header. I need to change mine more often, but I'm lazy. :)
I don't know a lot about hydrangeas, but I'm wondering if a good pruning in the fall would help with the flowering?
Have a fantastic day!
We used to use the rechargeable batteries, too, but found out they have a limit. Now, I still use them, but I also carry extras whenever I take my camera somewhere. I love hydrangeas -- wish we had some in our garden.
Peace,
Muff
Those are lovely. Thanks for your comments about the owl post...don't the eyes amaze?
I love the old dance movies...John Wayne was on AMC...I missed them..too busy with Hotrod...
Love the rose.
Batteries, reduced caffeine... it's hard to keep up with all the changes! NO problem for Uncle A, I see. :)
Your photos are lovely. I don't know much about the Pinterst, but from what I've heard, your photos would fit right in.
I'm glad you had some good ol' relaxation time watching movies!
Auntie, hydrangeas don't mind a hard pruning, they come back again quite nicely.
I agree with uncle A, I don't like the decaff at all.
